Honest, friendly & flexible
Extremely friendly, honest and helpful family-owned business. And they were the only rental car company on Gold Coast that had a vehicle with surf racks! I highly recommend their business.

Excellent service as always. I have been using Gold Coast Family Car Rentals for many years now. Unlike the large multi national rental companies there is always personalised service with a smile from everyone I meet within the company. I am always collected promptly from the airport and my luggage placed into the rental car, this is a service that these days is unheard of. There are no hidden charges that the multi nationals impose upon the client for services that no one understands. A great car rental company!

Excellent choice for car hire on the Gold Coast
We have hired a Kia Carnival people carrier twice from this small family business. Excellent website, which includes very clear description of the various insurance options available. We opted for the zero-excess policy, which provided more-comprehensive coverage than any other rental company I could find on the Gold Coast. All email interactions were very friendly, polite and professional. Shuttle bus was waiting for us at the airport even though our plane arrived 40 minutes early. Cars were 2010 and 2012 models so had a few scuffs and scratches in the bodywork, but perfectly acceptable given the very reasonable cost, especially considering that zero-excess insurance was included. Plus the cars was a pleasure to drive, with no problems at all with it over the rental period. Dropping the car off and catching the shuttle back to the airport were similarly seamless---do not be put off that this company is some distance from the airport. The only suggestion I would have would be for them to provide a map that clearly shows exactly where you are allowed to drive their vehicles. The permitted area is quite restrictive inland from the coast, but this did not affect us at all since we only travelled around the coastal areas.

In a word
In a word, the staff at Family Car Rentals were 'wonderful'. Rick, Annie and the other staff were beautiful and friendly people and were so very helpful. I have a 4 year old son and a wife who has a disability (unable to walk) and both Rick and Annie were patient, helpful and caring in assisting us to and from the airport.
And the car was perfect/immaculate too. We will definitely be using FCR again on our next trip to the Gold Coast.

We hired a car for 6 days and couldn't be happier. Staff were friendly and the whole process was stress-free. Compared to the multi-national companies these guys are the best. Car was clean and very economical and would definitely recommend GCFCR. They picked us up at the airport and drove us to their depot ...same on return we were dropped at the airport. Very easy!

We hired a people mover for our family of 5 for our gold coast holiday over 10 days. I chose Gold Coast Family Car Rentals based on reviews and how easy and efficient their website was to look at their cars and receive a quote. Communication with them was fast and efficient. Collection and drop off from Gold Coast airport very clear. Everything was as explained and I loved the car. It wasn't the latest model but it was clean and tidy and worked a treat for our family. I like how everything was transparent and clear. They told me to read the instructions for the car's idiosyncrasies....I didn't, there was even a label on the windscreen on how to turn the brake off.....somehow I missed that and drove around for a while trying to figure out how to turn the brake off so word of advice before you even start the car do what their instructions tell you to.....it will save you time and stress.
It was a pleasure to deal with this company, five star service (without even ever meeting them in person). Highly recommended and I wouldn't use anyone else but them on the Gold Coast.
