I saw a site that interested me on flippa and made an offer which was accepted. The seller had a 100% positive rating. I began doing due diligence and found issues which the seller corrected. I paid a... See more

Flippa permanently banned my account without providing any specific reason or evidence, only citing vague “identity-related concerns.”
I had been an active user for over two years, completed both ID and phone verification, and conducted transactions in good faith while following platform rules. I received no warning, no prior notice, and no opportunity to resolve any alleged issue before being banned.
When I contacted support asking for clarification, I was told that Flippa “doesn’t share the specific reason” and that I should simply trust their decision. Since then, my follow-up emails offering to re-verify my identity, submit additional documents, or cooperate with any compliance review have been completely ignored.
This lack of transparency and accountability is extremely concerning for a marketplace that handles high-value digital assets. Users can lose access to their accounts overnight with no explanation and no meaningful appeal process.
If you value fair treatment, communication, and due process, think very carefully before using Flippa. My experience shows that your account can be permanently banned at their discretion, with no recourse and no explanation.

We purchased a business with Ashwin as the broker. He was prompt, thorough and efficient. Ashwin and the sellers made the purchase easy and clear- even as first time buyers.
You can trust that Ashwin will lead you through the process and be transparent and helpful. We had experiences with other brokers through Flippa and Ashwin certainly was miles ahead of anyone else- even over the busy Xmas/NY period. He worked hard for both buyer and seller. If you see his name as the agent on a listing, don’t hesitate!

I tried selling my website, Book Fly Deals, on Flippa. Although the listing was marked as “sold,” the buyer never completed the payment. I waited almost a full month before being forced to open a dispute. During this time, my domain expired because I decided not to renew it, and I ended up losing the money I paid for Flippa’s service without completing the sale.
This experience was disappointing and time-consuming. Perhaps Flippa works better for larger, high-value projects where both the platform and buyers are more serious, but for smaller websites my experience was not positive.
Edit: Flippa’s support team later reached out to me and refunded the cost of their service. I gave 3 stars instead of 1 because I believe they should be more attentive and proactive when a buyer fails to complete the payment.

Best platform I have found to list and sell domains and websites.

I got scammed out of $5k on this platform and because of this, I got banned.
Wild decision making.

Great service, however, the tax on under 5k-10k sites should be less than the current.

They literally banned me out of nowhere in the middle of discussing a huge sale. I have no way to contact them and I lost my buyer.
So much for a reputable company...
**They literally don't respond since, and don't explain the issue...

I honestly do not understand the hype around Flippa. I repeatedly heard that starter websites with zero revenue, priced under $5,000, sell quickly. Based on this expectation, I listed my website on Flippa using the Starter package.
It has now been more than three weeks, and the experience has been extremely disappointing.
My listing shows 43 views, but this number does not reflect real buyer exposure. A large portion of these views came from repeated refreshes from the same account and IP address while checking visibility. These refreshes were still counted as unique views by Flippa. Based on this, I estimate that only around 10 views were actually genuine.
This raises serious concerns about how Flippa measures and reports listing visibility, especially for starter sellers who rely entirely on platform exposure.
The asset I listed is not a basic or unfinished website. It is a fully functional booking web application with a complete backend system, package management, blog management, and booking workflows. The sale includes the live website, full source code, domain, business email, and all associated content.
Despite this, the listing does not appear to be shown to real buyers. If the platform itself is not providing exposure, it becomes nearly impossible for a seller to make a sale, regardless of asset quality.
Flippa frequently promotes success stories of businesses selling for millions of dollars. However, for smaller sellers, even selling a complete and functional product for under $5,000 feels unrealistic.
UPDATE – Feb 9, 2026
I posted this review on Jan 28, and as of today, Flippa has still not responded, while newer 5-star reviews receive replies within hours.
This selective response pattern reinforces my concern that negative feedback from paying sellers is being ignored rather than addressed.
I paid for this listing expecting genuine buyer exposure and platform support. Neither has been delivered.
