Best purchase and very very happy. Took a while to arrive but only because it was ordered over the Christmas period. It arrived and we are pleased with the mantle. Great 1200mm piece of Oak that looks amazing above our fireplace. All oiled and looking great. Will definitely use again.

Poor customer service
Poor customer service. Still haven’t received my order and this virtual assistant still reply to me saying they are processing my order. I can’t speak to a human being or no phone number to discuss this. I honestly regret buying from them. They don’t care that this mantel is needed for a project. It’s same response all the time. Very disappointed will never recommend anyone.

Quality issues
Bought before with no problems, this time however not as good. Quality has gone downhill, the holes drilled for the hidden fixings not straight so had to either have the shelf slopping or bend the fixings down. Rough finish on drilled holes had to clean before fitting. Seems like a rushed job.

Well constructed chunky mantle and reasonably priced
This is a really well constructed mantle. Chunky by name and chunky in the flesh. Came with all the fittings and clear instructions to fit by my DIY'er husband. Looks great insitu. Really finishes off the woodburner area in my kitchen.Also very reasonably priced. Didn't have to wait long for it to arrive.

Absolute top notch customer service
Item turned up damaged in transit, they offered to exchange the unit immediately, no fuss.
The couriers had issue doing the return so Funky Chunky Ended up a whole piece down, and apologised the whole way.
Top notch customer service, will definitely go there first in future.,

Avoid like the plague
Avoid like the plague. Delivery never arrived. Customer service didn't care nor reply.
But hold on, the company replied to the above...i had to edit my review. They blamed me......for changing address.......after they failed to deliver it. Read below:
Company replied stating a change of address occurred that was not explained correctly.
Interesting. The delivery was due Friday, took day off work etc. The delivery never arrived. I got in touch, no response.
So, Monday comes and I get an email saying on its way, clever Funky.....I'm at work. So.....I get in touch to say deliver to my neighbour......Funky says I changed address......it was next door.
So in short....buy elsewhere guys . Read other reviews. Buy cheap, buy crap. Funky monkey chunky????? Avoid

Poor packaging and even worse attitude
We purchased some shelves and a mantle, the shelves were perfect, but the mantle was damaged during shipment, which isn’t surprising as it only had a thin layer of bubble wrap around it.
Funky chunkys solution was send some wax, which did correct the colour, but obviously didn’t replace the missing wood from the impact. Their attitude was that this was good enough.
Luckily my card company disagrees and has offered to investigate for me, save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere.

We do want to clarify that the mantel was packaged in line with our standard procedures, which are designed to protect solid timber items in transit. Unfortunately, despite careful packaging, damage can occasionally occur while with the courier. When this was reported, we offered a wax care pack as an initial solution to address the surface marking quickly, which many customers are happy with for minor transit scuffs. However, we understand that this did not meet your expectations in this case.
It was never our intention to dismiss your concerns, and we are sorry if our response came across that way. We always aim to find a fair and practical resolution, including alternatives where appropriate, and it is disappointing to hear that you felt let down.

Extremely disappointed.
I’m really disappointed with my experience with Funky Chunky Furniture. After my daughter had a great experience ordering shelving and a table, I felt confident placing an order myself for a mantel to fit on my wall.
I was told my order would be ready and out for delivery within five working days, but after I hadn’t heard anything for a considerable amount of time, I tried to chase this up, I had to go through the AI chatbot first, which was extremely frustrating. It’s very hard to explain a specific issue this way, and even once I moved to email, responses were slow and involved a lot of back and forth. I received the mantle after 11 working days.
When the mantel finally arrived several days late, I followed the instructions carefully. I measured everything, watched the video, and started drilling into the wall.
Unfortunately, the mantel wouldn’t sit flat. I then realised the holes drilled into the wood weren’t deep enough for one of the pins. By the time I noticed, the nails had already bent and holes had been drilled into the wall. I now need to get these holes filled, drill again in a different place, and order new fixings.
Overall, this has been a really frustrating experience.
What’s even more frustrating is that since this happened, I’ve seen at least four recent reviews from other customers describing the exact same issue. This does show it’s a known problem that hasn’t been addressed.
For a small, handmade business selling bespoke items, good and accessible customer service is so important. Even a phone number with limited hours would make a huge difference, especially when unexpected issues come up. Sadly, based on this experience, I would not recommend this company.

Shockingly bad customer services
Shockingly bad customer services. Never come across a company like it before!
I can't recommend this company at all. There is no customer service telephone number and impossible to get adequate answers to questions before you buy from them. They operate an AI email response service which does not provided the necessary interaction to answer questions. If you request through an email to speak to a person to answer questions there is a huge reluctance and they just won't call you and completely ignore the request!

Very poor customer service, damaged beam.
My mantel beam came with a chunk missing and two other parts where it had been damaged.
I have contacted customer service, sent photos, tried to chat online as no phone number and have had a response say glad we helped. Very disappointed as I had read good reviews. Don't buy from this company, they don't care once they've had your money.

Avoid buying from Funky Chunky Furniture
I ordered 2 shelves 900mm long with brackets and 2 shelves 400mm long with brackets. 1 of each shelf size arrived with holes for a floating bracket. The bracket type i ordered are not floating so did not need holes in the shelves.
I was informed they all come with holes but my ordered showed this incorrect as some did and some didn't have holes. All my previous orders of 8 shelves also did not have holes so this info was incorrect.
This would be easy to sort by simply sending me 2 new shelves without holes and I return these 2 with holes but Funky Chunky would not do this saying my order was correct.
This means I will never order from them again having previously spent about £2k on furniture.

We did change our production process last year so that all shelves are now supplied with pre drilled holes as standard, regardless of the bracket type chosen. I ordered a bracket after querying that it would fit as the sizing didn’t seem quite right. I was told yes it fits despite the description. It arrived and doesn’t fit. I’m told to send back at my expense which doesn’t seem fair. I was given incorrect advise. Now they are ignoring me.

The item was recieved well packaged, and of great quality.
All fixings supplied with easy instructions. Unfortunately our wall was a " Dib dab" ..plasterboard over a frame on the wall.After investing in dib dab fixings from the hardware store...the item was up in less than 10mins.
Lovely,recommended..happy wife ,and I no expert DIYer.
