SIZE QUESTION UNANSWERED

I bought my 2nd pair of trainers. This time I sized down as my original pair size 42 was just too large. 41 now seems too small but will they stretch...?? I love my first pair but don't want to keep the 2nd pair without reassurance and I don't want to buy another big pair. I've emailed - tried live chat - tried what's app and no one gets back to me. So I am now very disappointed with the service. I can't afford to make an international call.

Not as comfortable as I'd hoped

First I bought the woollen slippers with the very thin sole a couple of years ago. They are comfortable if I'm not walking around too much but they offer no support and feel more like socks. The sole quickly started to wear out under the heel. The woollen upper has worn reasonably well and I wear them when I'm sitting down. I bought a pair of the woollen slippers with the harder sole in November 2022. They are lovely and warm but I find the arch support very challenging and after a few hours wear my feet feel really sore. I wear other shoes with an arch support without any problem. I have replaced the innersole but they still don't feel as comfortable as I'd like - not what you expect from slippers. Perhaps it is my ageing feet but I cannot risk buying more expensive slippers which turn out to be unsuitable.

The WORST customer service experience…

The WORST customer service experience I've ever had. I placed an order on 25th November which has still not arrived. I was instructed by the delivery company to contact Giesswein to track down my parcel as they had problems delivering due to a road accident. The customer service team have been no help at all. They have simply said 'it should arrive soon', no further info. It has been almost a month since my order so I assume the parcel has been lost by the delivery company but Giesswein will not help me at all. The only thing they've said they will do is refund the order if I send it back?! I would love to know how to send back an order I've never received! Really disappointing how little they care about their customers. I try not to write negative reviews often as I know that companies can experience difficulties beyond their control but I am really shocked by their response and my experience has been nothing but stressful.

Placed an order on 24 November

Placed an order on 24 November. Still not received. Geisswein promise to investigate but nothing has been done even though I have sent several emails.
Very disappointed in the service as haven’t had any problems in the past.

A comfortable fit…

A comfortable fit although the shoes are slightly uncomfortable against my ankles. I am sure that will disappear the more I wear the shoes.

I have 3 different shoes from…

I have 3 different shoes from Giesswein. Shoes are great. The best of this company is the costumer service. I had some not matching shoes and there is never a problem to change or return.

I am very disappointed with the quality…

I am very disappointed with the quality of these Merino Runners. The right heal was constructed too wide, and thus my foot lifts out of the runner no matter how tightly i lace the shoe. Very poor workmanship--buyer beware!

Different

Bit pricey, but took a punt and ordered a pair of wool sneakers. Wasn't quite sure what to expect, but they look great and are extremely comfortable to wear.

Fantastic shoes and great service!

Fantastic shoes and great customer service! I bought the giesswein sneakers one year a go and they were the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I had one slight problem with the shoes and the customer service helped me quickly and easily.

Expensive, last a few weeks at best

Expensive and do not last as long as a pair of £20 high street slippers.

I'm on my third pair of Giesswein slippers (yes I know) - the first pair lasted one winter (three months) before I realised the rubber on the soles had practically disappeared and the stuff that was left was strangely sticky.

I found another pair that were on offer so replaced the first pair with the same - these have the thin, almost non-existent rubber sole which is on quite a few of the models of slippers. They lasted a few weeks before the rubber had come off the heel area, worn indoors only and one of the toes had a hole (the sizing was correct, the first pair did not go through at the toe).

So I bought a pair of 'Veitsch' because they had a better sole. They were very expensive, and came with a 'support' insole which I didn't want, and was incredibly hard and uncomfortable - it actually made my feet hurt after couple of laps of the house to test them.

I realised the insole came out, they are also available in their shop for £18 a pair. So I asked Giesswein to exchange the unwanted and unneeded 'support' insole for a pair of their normal wool insoles, also £18 in their shop.

They refused, their customer services were abrupt and adamant they would not exchange them and I would have to spend another £18 (so £81 in total for a wearable pair of slippers) to get the wool insoles.

So that's £81 for a pair of slippers which might last a few weeks. Obviously I've learnt my lesson now, Giesswein are not interested in repeat customers.

My issue is more with customer service…

My issue is more with customer service than the product itself. I purchased a pair of Cross X trainers in April and, despite only wearing them about a dozen times, a small side panel (the one with a silver arch on) came unstuck. Not great but I was not greatly upset about it - I just wanted to know what to use to stick it back. I tried using the web site ‘Lisa’ automated system but this was completely useless, the only Avenue I could use was the complaint route and when trying this it rejected my order number. The company needs to provide an easy to use communication channel!

Subsequent to this I was quickly contacted by the customer service team (see below) and they resolved the problem very efficiently and helpfully. So now satisfied and have increased my rating to 4 stars.

I purchased a pair of Geisswein…

I purchased a pair of Geisswein slippers about six months ago. They are comfortable and nice to wear.But, they are not wearing well, the toes are wearing thin, and the wool on the top of the slipper is ‘pilling’ and comes off in tufts.
I am disappointed with the quality of the slippers, I have previously bought Birkenstock, and I found them to be better quality all round. I have also found it very difficult to contact Geisswein to discuss my concerns. I look forward to your advice and comments.

However, the functionality of the fabric is not affected. The lint or knots can be removed carefully by hand or with a long hair razor, without pressure.

Great product - returns could be better

I have just received a lovely pair of slippers - but they are too big so I have ordered two more pairs in a size smaller one for myself and one for my Mum BUT I have no return label in the box and the link to generate a label is not working, as there is no method for contacting apart from the contact page where there is nothing but a bot - no email or telephone I am very stuck. I hope that I get a response from this post. My order number is GWUK59157 and that this will generate some contact.

Update this posting generated an email with returns now all arranged. So the company have turned everything around for me very quickly - but it would be better if they made it easier to contact them in their processes so that issues can be addressed. Thanks for the speedy response

cannot get in touch with a non bot

UPDATED they do respond to emails! yay! I ordered Geiswinn on April 26th with an estimated 3 to 5 days. The order confirmation number they gave me was GWIN63251. I tried to use their bot but it says it is not a good number. I have done a google search and cannot find a way to speak with an actual person. I will have to contest the charges on my card :(

Delighted with my purchase

I am wary of buying things from adverts which pop up on Facebook, so I hesitated for a while before ordering, but I'm so glad I did! I ordered 2 pairs in different styles, the running shoes and the sneakers. Both are an excellent fit and extremely comfortable...so much so that I've ordered another pair. I have trouble finding shoes which fit, with wide feet and bunions. I ordered the recommended size, which was my usual size, and they fit true to size. Delivery was very speedy and I was kept informed of the order's progress by email and text. Though expensive, they are good value for money, especially as I bought them with a generous discount.
