The sales process was okay. We was very thorough with out expectations regarding deliveries, time frames and quality of workmanship.
The scaffold team turned up a day early when when nobody was in the house due to lack of co-ordination from the office. However they returned on the correct and the agreed date.
We requested that the material is received by the install team, it was not practical that a 300kg delivery is taken and moved by their client. We would also be liable for damage and checking the delivery which is ridiculous situation, they offered to leave the delivery on the side of the road & the delivery driver would not assist with the logistics. We would also be liable to theft and living in a nice area but a busy road that was not an option. This situation went on for 2 weeks, this was agreed with the sales team and supposedly arranged prior to install. When speaking to the head office staff, a member of staff spoke to me me as I was the issue and not their continued failures. When I asked her if she felt it was speak to their client in such a manner she was equally as dismissive.
The PV & battery team, this was cancelled on a couple of occasions, with various excuses about reliability of the sub-contractors. Eventually we had an install team & delivery on the same day, but without the correct roof brackets. Luckily the install had other brackets they could utilise. I will say the contractor were very efficient and helpful and they were the only shining light during this experience.
The scaffold remained on our property for long after the install, only when I raised a complaint to the complaints department did we get some sort of traction.
As Glow Green do not actually survey the works, they couldn’t install all the proposed PV panels as they couldn’t fit in the available space. I took it upon myself to stop the install until we renegotiated the terms of the contract, that was resolved quickly with a £1000 discount.
This led to another issue, the spare panel. This was in my garden for 2 weeks, there was nonsense about it being in a pallet (which we didn’t have), it could only be lifted by 2 people despite me moving it we ease. There were multiple issues with such a basic task & in the end the panel they insisted on being protected & on a pallet, a rubbish removal chap picked it up (on his own) and threw in a waste removal van. I’m still trying to understand what all the nonsense was about.
We also have had 3 deliveries since the install was completed, they still sit in my hallway. I won’t open or throw them away as I do not want to give Glow Green an excuse to add charges.
The paperwork, it’s now been over 3 weeks since the install and no MCO paper which I believe is to be issued with 10 days of the install.
To wrap up the review, AVOID ! There are local and more reliable installers near where you live, give them a try.

Great company been providing solar system quotation and installation. Clear steps and explanations throughout. Never knew it would be this easy and well explained to have a full solar panel + battery and system installed at my property

The engineer was very smart, polite & on time, also he had serviced my boiler last year so it was nice to see a familiar face. He was in and out, job done within an hour. Would recommend him to friends and family.

Terrible experience with Glow Green and I would never recommend using them. If I could give 0 stars I would.
The installation was badly managed and the workmanship was, in my experience, incredibly poor. I was left with a gas leak from the boiler installation, which required an emergency gas engineer to attend and resulted in a RIDDOR being raised. There were also a number of other issues, including damage and poor workmanship both inside and outside the property.
What has been even more frustrating is what happened afterwards. I have now been dealing with this complaint for around 10 months. I have had to repeatedly chase Glow Green, explain the same issues to different people and accommodate remedial visits, yet there still hasn't been what I would consider a proper resolution.
Particularly concerning has been the lack of any meaningful apology or acknowledgement from Glow Green regarding the dangerous gas leak that occurred following the installation and resulted in SGN attending and a RIDDOR notification.
This was not a minor issue. A gas leak of this nature had the potential to cause a serious accident, injury or worse, yet I have received no clear apology or meaningful acknowledgement of the seriousness of what occurred or the concern and distress it caused.
There were water leaks, damage to carpets, flooring, walls and other parts of the property, as well as unfinished external work. Glow Green has accepted the gas leak element of my complaint, but has rejected responsibility for much of the other damage and has offered £200 compensation.
The whole experience has made me seriously question the level of quality control they have over their third-party installers. The standard of work seems to depend on which installer you happen to get, which is pretty worrying when you're having something as important as a boiler installed.
The communication throughout the complaint has also been extremely poor, with emails going unanswered and the complaint repeatedly being passed between different teams.
After everything I've experienced, I would not recommend Glow Green. The lack of quality control, poor workmanship and the way the complaint has been handled have been extremely disappointing. Big companies simply do not care about customer service.

Although there were some issues with the booking process, the customer service overall was great and resolved it fairly quickly.
The installation day went smoothly so special thanks to the engineer Joao and the electrician Michael!

Still waiting its been almost four months for solar installation since signing the agreement. DNO approval was delayed as glow green had messed up the application from their side. Been promised dates for installation three times and even the panels have not been delivered yet. This is before sales, i am truley concerned how after sales service can be any better. I wish i knew this before signing the agreement!! Very unhappy so far.

Ever since I have had glow green insurance on my boiler everything has gone really well.
They have always been very responsive and it has always been very straightforward booking my annual service.
The service itself a has all ways gone really well as well. The engineer has all ways given me a clear update on when he will be here for the service.
Then been on time very courteous guy on time and very pleasant.
The service involved no mess no noise etc and afterwards the engineer was very open to explaining the little problem I had and showing me a photo of what was happening.
All super clear and transparent explained by such a pleasant guy.
The follow up was equally as efficient easy to arrange quick same engineer I just opened the attick and left him.
Very quick no hassle noise or mess.
I am very happy with my glow green subscription they have done a perfect job on my boiler from day one.
Their customer service is super reactive and pleasant as well and one feels that they are really caring about the company
Gives me total peace of mind.

Solar/Battery Installation
Positives - Good sales process, reviewing the options and also discussing the install with the pre-sales engineer. Solar Installer did a good job, Electrician did a clean install in the garage.
Negatives - Like many other companies Glowgreen use a number of subcontractors to cover the country (scaffolders, solar panel installer, electricians). But co-ordination and overall ownership of the install is a bit of a black hole. Scaffolders installed so the panels couldn't be installed as designed so the panel installer had to work around this. Electrician wired the install incorrectly so the EV Charger couldn't be configured blind from the Inverter. This required over 2 months of chasing to get resolved. I even raised a formal complaint but nobody in the complaints team followed their defined process.
My recommendation to GlowGreen is that with the outsourced model someone at GlowGreen should be my Account Manager responsible for ensuring a successful implementation and aligned to the original design. At the moment any issues you call their call centre and quite often get put through to someone with no knowledge of your installation or even working in the Solar section of their customer services team.
If you're install goes well I'm sure you will see a 5 star performance, but when there are problems it's very difficult to find someone accountable to own and resolve.

My solar installation has been a catalogue of errors by Glow Green. First, they promised to fast-track my install if DNO approval was quick. DNO was approved in 2 days, yet I was still left waiting 4 weeks. Next, an engineer failed to show up on the first date (£100 deduction). Then, their design team completely botched the roof plan—I challenged them at the design stage that 14 panels wouldn't fit, they ignored me, and on install day they had to drop it to 13 panels because I was right (£200 deduction). The system was finally installed on 28th August and is PAID IN FULL. Yet nearly three weeks later, heavy scaffolding is still abandoned on my house, creating a major security risk while I am at work. To top it off, Glow Green has now officially breached the regulatory 10-working-day deadline to register my system on the central MCS database, and they ignored my urgent ticket yesterday. As a fully paid customer who has been incredibly patient through multiple failures, being ignored like this is completely unacceptable. I expect a senior manager to email me immediately with a confirmed scaffolding removal date and my MCS certificate.
Update- thanks to Ian for reaching out and putting things to rights. So in summary great value for money and I'm sure fantastic if things go smoothly. When they dont you need to get to the right people. From my experience the installation team (gabby and kate) , engineer (Harry and his team who where great making up for the first missing in action one) and if all else fails reach out here and Ian looked after me. Not a perfect experience but now working solar with ability to export and what feels like a company really working to get things right.
