Careless delivery

The parcel was left in my front garden - not with a neighbour, not with a housemate - and even though the packet was clearly marked ‘this way up’ this was ignored and the packet was left on its side.

Désaster company!

Each time it’s the same story!
They said they come and every hours they change time or days at last moment.
I’m waiting for my parcel since 4 days. Each days the postpone it.
It’s a désastre company.
I have a shop I need my products on time.

There was no clarity around the date…

There was no clarity around the date and time. In the beginning it was indicated that the parcel would be delivered on Thursday July 16. Then on the same day that changed and the parcel was on the way on Wednesday July 15. The tracker indicated constantly a time window of three hours and the earliest time was pushed back 15-20 minutes every hour. In the end I received a notice that the parcel was delivered sooner than expected to someone else only to find out that it was left in front of my door on the street. I was lucky that no one took these items.

My experience with GLS has been…

My experience with GLS has been incredibly frustrating from start to finish.

For two consecutive days, the tracking page stated that my package would be delivered within the specified time window, yet nothing was delivered. The tracking history even showed "Not delivered – delivery scheduled for the next working day," despite the fact that no delivery attempt was ever made. I also never received an email, notification, or any other indication that a driver had attempted to deliver the package.

The tracking information is contradictory and unreliable, making it impossible to know what is actually happening with your shipment.

What makes this even worse is that I need this package by tomorrow. I'm traveling on Friday, and there will be no one available to receive the package on my behalf. If GLS fails to deliver it in time, there's a good chance it will simply be returned to the sender. That reflects poorly not only on GLS, but also on the sender, who has done absolutely nothing wrong.

I then tried to contact GLS through the contact form on their website, only to receive an error message saying my complaint could not be submitted due to a technical issue. So even when I tried to report the problem, their own support system failed.

To top it all off, the lack of a customer service phone number is utterly ridiculous. When customers are dealing with urgent delivery issues, they should be able to speak to a real person instead of relying on a broken contact form and inaccurate tracking updates.

Poor communication, unreliable tracking, no practical way to contact customer support, and zero transparency throughout the process. This has been one of the worst courier experiences I've had, and I sincerely hope GLS invests in improving both its customer service and its delivery operations. Until then, I cannot recommend using their service.

Driver pretended not to notice.

I am very disappointed with GLS Netherlands and would not recommend their service.

For more than 10 days, I have been unable to receive my shipments. GLS repeatedly claimed they could not find my address, even though they successfully delivered three previous shipments to the exact same address without any issues.

I also instructed GLS to deliver my parcels to the nearest GLS ParcelShop if they were unable to reach my address. I selected the nearest pickup point through their website, but my request was completely ignored.

The lack of communication, repeated excuses, and failure to follow simple delivery instructions have made this a very frustrating experience. I expected much better customer service.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend GLS Netherlands.

My parcel was delivered damaged

My parcel was delivered open, the card board package was broken and the lids of my creams were loose, and one was left open so the material protecting jars came inside one of jars. The sender did not send package in this state.

Parcel left unattended without permission

I originally left a 2-star review after a driver rang my building intercom, I answered because I made sure to be home for the delivery and my parcel was then left unattended in the building lobby without anyone asking if I was happy for it to be left there. The parcel also arrived with damaged packaging, although thankfully the contents were intact.

Sadly, I now have to lower my rating to 1 star as my experience with GLS has continued to be disappointing.

Since then, I have had another parcel delivered with damaged packaging. This parcel was left in the lobby again but this time was marked as "delivered to a neighbour" when it had actually been left in the lobby.

I also currently have another parcel that was originally due for delivery on 14 July. It was postponed to 15 July, then 16 July, and is now scheduled for 17 July, without any explanation or update. I completely understand that delays can happen, especially during periods of extreme heat, and I have no issue waiting when there is clear communication. The most frustrating part is simply not knowing what is happening.

As I am six months pregnant, I rearrange my work schedule each time a delivery date is provided so that I can be home to receive my parcel. Every postponement means reorganising my day again.

GLS also asks customers to update their delivery preferences, but unfortunately the available options do not really work for my situation. My parcel weighs around 15 kg, so collecting it from a parcel shop or locker is not a realistic option for me. The suggested "safe place" in my building would simply be the shared lobby, where anyone could access it. Given my recent experiences, I do not feel comfortable choosing an option that removes responsibility for the parcel once it has been left there.

All I am asking for is for my parcels to be delivered safely to my door when I am at home, which I always make every effort to be.

I do not enjoy leaving negative reviews, and I would genuinely prefer to update this review after a better experience. I hope GLS can look into these issues, as I would be happy to provide the relevant tracking details directly if needed.

It was not delivered to my doorstep 😔. As a single mom,it was difficult to get help taking it upstairs 😕.

Bad service and lies

I waited all day while the delivery time kept getting postponed. In the end I received a message that it couldn’t be delivered because I wasn’t home. Which is not true. So they wasted my entire afternoon and then lied about it as well to add insult to injury. This wasnt the first time that I had this experience with GLS.

My package was never delivered

My package was never delivered. At first I got a message from GLS about it being deliverd in a parcel locker near my adress as confirmed, but apparantly that went wrong twice, after that I got an e-mail about delivering the package to an alternative pick up adress. I would be updated as soon as it got there, but I never was, so I rang the place it was supposed to be delivered to. The parcel was indeed registered as due to be delivered there. But after more than a week it wasn’t delivered yet and after calling again it turned out not to be on the ‘to be delivered’ list anymore. The track and trace link is out of order. Sometimes things do not run perfectly, but the lack of communication is really botherimg me.

I've been waiting for my parcel since…

I've been waiting for my parcel since morning, unfortunately it didn't arrive (another day has passed), the courier didn't even bother to call the phone or the door, he entered it in the system that no one was home... I don't recommend it ☹
