My son visited the Thetford facility recently, requested a safety helmet only to be told they are not available.
Subsequently, was hit on the head by the heavy pulley used for securing the user to the safety ropes.
Upon returning home he developed a headache and dizziness the following day and was taken to A@E in Stoke Mandeville hospital fot a CT scan. The scan was clear, but a concussion was diagnosed and he was advised to rest at home for several days.
He did not report the incident at the time, unfortunately, but sent the centre a picture of himself in the A&E department, in a head restraint to the centre, to which there was no response from the centre.
Having visited similar facilities in other countries, wearing of protective head gear was always a non negotiable requirement - as it should be.
I find it astonishing that the company policy allows the use of the facility without protective head gear, was there ever any risk assessment carried out?
Can not recommend and will not use again, unless there is a change in the H&S policy
Appalling management at Dalkeith Country Park site! We went to Go Ape for a birthday party for my son's 8th birthday. The customer service at the reception box was slow and poor, I had to approach the guy to be served when was only one family and two members of staff.
Route Treetop Adventure Plus 1,2, and 3 were great many helpful staff in the area. However, route 4 is over the river there is restricted visibility of the obstacles only what we could see was a zip line to and from the main area. I took responsibility to supervise 6 of our children at the party from the ground, how I could see if they are attached well to the lines if I couldn't be there! One staff member was on the ground (!) when one of our boys was stuck on the platform just when landed from the zip line at the beginning of the course. The platform is tilted, and he was terrified. Kids were helping each other but they were struggling to help him out. He was absolutely terrified as he is just 120cm and was the smallest of the group, he was hinged on the platform when another child got pulled him to the inside of the platform. I was from my side where I was standing to ask for help from the staff and other parents asked other members of staff to help him from the place where they stand and still the member of staff was talking to kids from the ground! No one from the staff zipped through to the boy to help him out. It was very dangerous, and the safety rules were not applied at all in this course by the manager of the site! Staff told me that there is not enough staff on the site and that if they would come to our kids the other parents would ask them to do so also. Where is management? Where is health and safety provided on course no 4? Where is accommodation for adults to supervise kids there? Employ more staff or manage better this place before a serious accident will happen!!

I took my daughter here a year ago when she was 5 and had to pay for myself as well as her. I’ve just found out that under 6 the parents doesn’t pay. Hope you don’t get caught out as well.

This is the 1st time with family outdoor with my son and his age is 11. We had a great fun and adventures. We loved it. Will definitely make my calender booked for next time and more.
I really enjoyed and playing.
The guy named SEB at Sherwood was very friendly and cleared all my son doubt. He explained each and every thing regarding the safety and how to handle. Special thanks to him and his team. All staffs are good with their smiley faces.
I strongly recommend who ever needs to relax and get their physical build and get motivated by yourself with different level of challenges.
I could write more pages..... But in one word. I loved it. I will recommend to my friends and families members. I shall come along with them. Haahhaha

Went to go ape today at mallards pike Forest of Dean to do the tree top challenge. I was part of the 11am booking my name is Rose. The two fellas that were supporting us how to do the challenge were amazing! I struggled from the start, but every so often they would shout out encouragement and offering support. I really felt like I couldn’t do it , but my family and their support I completed it. These guys made the entire experience better, for that I’m truly thankful.
Sorry I can’t remember their names

We visited for the Treetop Adventure today. My 7 year old daughter managed both challenges with no worries or fear. My 9 year old nephew was very apprehensive, wary and cautious. He managed the first challenge really well and completed the zip line. When he got to the top of the second challenge his nerves kicked in and got the better of him. One of the amazing staff members Max stepped straight in and went up to have a chat with him. Max was great and rather than talk my nephew down he managed to guide him through the challenge. His support and encouraging chats got him all the way round the challenge. My nephew is over the moon he managed to complete it and did the zip line twice too. Just want to give Max and the team on shift today a huge shout out. Thank you all so much, you were great! We would highly recommend Go Ape Dalby. It was a fantastic day.

We had a great day out at GoApe Battersea. We signed up for the Treetop challenge which everyone in our group loved. I enjoyed the first course but didn’t realise how physical the second course was and ran out of upper body strength to continue. A fantastic guide named Connor came to my rescue and helped me get to the end. He was so encouraging and nothing was too much trouble. As I got to the bottom a few other guides also checked in to ensure I was okay. Really impressed with the great service and felt safe throughout the whole experience.

Exceptional experience from beginning to end. Easy booking through website. Communication great. The day was for my neurodiverse 13 year old. We were both looked after and treated respectfully. Nothing was too much trouble. Every staff member was friendly and helpfu and went over and above to ensure my child was ok. I felt safe in the knowledge that my child was in expert company. She enjoyed every moment and was able to complete all the challenges. Her confidence to go again is amazing. A wonderful day out. Thoroughly recommended and very good value. Thank you GoApe staff at Alexander Palace. We will be back!

Booked this day out as a birthday treat! I wanted to do something a bit different this year and get myself out of my comfort zone and this day definitely helped me do that! Staff were great and so accommodating for our group as we had a last minute cancellation and a toddler to look after as we went around. Particular shout out for Adam and his great safety demos and even better pep talks to build your confidence in yourself! Thoroughly enjoyed the day and hope to be back again soon!😁

My 6 year old son had his birthday party today. We were 32 people all together and I have to say the Go Ape team were AMAZING! Nothing was too much trouble. We also had a disabled child who they ensured that could do the zip line without causing a fuss. It was amazing how they just made everything happen. I am so impressed. Thank you to all of you!

Top Challenge were excellent. Highly recommended for anyone who is good with heights and / or someone wanting to have a bit of fun whilst facing their phobia of heights.
Big shout of to Lewis who was our main instructor. Great bloke with a good sense of humour and great knowledge of the equipment.

My negative feedback concerns customer service. It's really bad.
Objectively it is one of the worst customer services I have had to deal with. I think the lack of competitors in your business leaves no choice to your customers. It's your advantage, but it doesn't make you any better.
Here is my customer journey:
I wanted to book a birthday party for my daughter and I found that this part of the business was not supported in any way. When slots were available the website kept giving an error and I went in person to the park, they couldn't help me and told me to call. After spending hours waiting for a reply I just booked the required number of tickets. When I had to make changes it was impossible to do so by email or through the website. Only a phone call. I tried to call for a few days, and when I did they were not able to help me. Do you know the reason? Because the operator couldn't get through to the park. Absurd.

Having booked and paid for a high ropes course for 6 people, I was contacted by Go Ape 2 weeks later to cancel. They needed to complete crucial maintenance week and had to close for the week that I had booked.
The person who contacted me checked with me that my booking had been by credit card, which I confirmed. I naturally assumed I would be refunded onto that credit card.
She then said she would send me a voucher, which I assumed was in addition to the refund, as an apology for wrecking my weekend. She asked me if I'd be able to re-book and I said I wasn't sure as this was the only weekend I could get everyone together. She explained there was another site I might be able to use and I said I would investigate. I wasn't sure it was within travelling distance. It was therefore very clear that I was NOT accepting a voucher in lieu of a refund. However I was pleased to accept something by way of an apology even if I wouldn't get to use it.
I checked my credit card a few days later, no refund. I opened an email from Go Ape to find a voucher to the full value of my booking (and not a penny more). I had to email Go Ape to request a refund, which I received a few days later, but I have not received any gesture or apology for being mucked around by them.
Just a shoddy company. It wouldn't have taken much to keep me on side, but they have seriously hacked me off!

Had a great time completing the tree top challenge. The instructor was very engaging and made sure everyone had time to practice the proper use of equipment and safety rules. The course had a variety of obstacles to complete that were engaging and there was a great view over the valley when travelling on the zipline.
