Very mixed bag with this company and if it weren’t for the insane prices they’d be worth trying. We’ve been GoldBelly customers a few times over the years and each of the last couple of times we’ve been left disappointed; of course they can’t necessarily control the quality are amount of food you ultimately receive, but they do control the customer experience and the prices, and that’s what makes it so painful. If you’re spending $130 for a cake, it should truly be able to serve the dozen or more people they claim it will, & be of the same quality and taste that you’ve experienced in the past. That is not always the case with GoldBelly.com. While I note their seemingly very friendly replies to many of the negative reviews here, my one experience with attempting to deal with their customer service showed that they are aggressive about refunding are providing credit. That doesn’t mean they don’t, just that in my own experience it was difficult and I wasn’t willing to argue with him over it. I think the service is meant for those who are more impressed by being able to say they ordered barbecue from a semi-famous restaurant 2000 miles away, who don’t really care as much about the quality and can easily take the financial hit of not getting exactly what they anticipated. If you’re budget conscious at all however, Gold Belly may not be worth the risk.

I avoided Goldbelly for years after an initial bad experience but gave them another try and had a worse experience. They switched the delivery address on a gift with my billing address and sent the item to me. The $146 cake was in a crappy 9 inch brown cardboard box. I spent 20 mins looking for a customer service number and waited almost 30 mins on hold before giving up. Genuinely don’t understand how they’re still in business.

I ordered cupcakes from Goldbelly for my mom’s birthday. The delivery was supposed to arrive in time for her celebration, but it didn’t. When I reached out about the delay, customer service told me the order had already shipped, even though the app clearly showed it hadn’t. A few hours later, I finally received a shipping notice directly from the bakery.
When the cupcakes arrived days late, they were smashed and messy. The frosting was smeared all over the box, and nothing was salvageable. Customer service couldn’t explain the shipping mix-up and offered only a $20 refund for a ruined birthday surprise.
This experience was frustrating from start to finish. The communication was poor, the packaging was careless, and the refund offer was insulting. I would not recommend Goldbelly for any special occasion.

I love the different snacks and different foods they have.

Ordered a birthday cake for a friend's birthday. It was a week in transit and was inedible when brought out for her birthday. Embarrassing. Cake had become very rubbery. Terrible from Gladys Bakery in Texas via Goldbelly. No refund, of course!

We've visited here a couple of weeks ago. Good place to visit with the whole family. Incredible!

Many of my friends and relatives have given me gift cards for Goldbelly. I've had to face the embarrassment of asking them to stop. At first I thought it was a great idea, mainly to promote small local restaurants and unique food products. Wrong. Their prices are ridiculous, and anything on offer for $50.00 or less (rare) is not worth the hassle or cost. But the real thrill with Goldbelly is when you check out and find that the shipping costs are often double (or more) the product price, regardless of what the product is. Good luck with that $130.00 12 inch pizza. Patronize your local shops, stores, and eateries!

I arranged an order from Goldbelly, which was to be the food for a party. The merchant just "forgot" to fill the order and I only found out the day before delivery was supposed to take place. Goldbelly did nothing but offer to refund the money or reschedule the delivery for a date which was useless. No apology, no compensation. Also, Goldbelly does not even have a phone number -- you can only communicate via email. Do not use Goldbelly! Inflated prices, poor service, a useless product.

My Cape Cod Cafe pizza’s from Brockton, MA, arrived frozen and in perfect condition in Portland OR. My original order was stolen at a different address we were staying at and GoldBelly lovingly replaced them free of charge and they arrived on the date they said they would at our new address. Our family and friends grew up eating this crispy, succulent bar pizza which was invented in 1939 and has over the decades become a famous New England favorite.
If you’re craving a food that reminds you of back home, I highly recommend this company to ship you that special dish. They certainly go above and beyond for their customers.

I personally feel goldbelly has got even better burgers than McDonald's, but they just need to increase the quantity of their burgers

If I could give 0 stars I would.
I ordered in advance as a gift for an event. I picked the future date I needed the item and gave myself 24 hours something could go wrong room….. on the delivery day I get 2 emails at the same time. Email 1 - from UPS, they have the package. Wait - what? The carrier got the package on the delivery date? It has to go across country, I don’t think it will make it… 2 nd email…. The package isn’t going to arrive on expected date. The next day (day of event I need the package for) another email - carrier isn’t going to be able to deliver on time…. It’s the carriers fault…. No it’s Goldbellys fault that order did not go out prior to delivery date. I tried reaching Goldbelly - with no answer for 48 hours and their solution:
They can re-ship the product ( that doesn’t work- event was 2 days ago) or I can get credit for a future order.
Now why would I ever do business with a company that lied to me and said it was a carrier issue and more importantly why would I ever buy from Goldbelly again when I couldn’t get my order when I needed it.
I won’t be using Goldbelly for anything EVER AGAIN

1. Cheese order arrived. When opened, insects flew out. Immediately dumped into outdoor trash.
2. No refund without photographs of packaging, obviously impossible. Grudgingly provided a credit.
3. Used credit to send a gift card. The website offers delayed delivery, which I used. However, at the checkout stage, only immediate delivery was offered. I placed the order and then tried to contact customer service.
4. No telephone contact information is on the website. I tried chatting with an agent, who was unable to change the order to delayed delivery.
5. The agent suggested that I call customer service “next time” [as if there’ll be a next time] if I want delayed delivery, although it’s offered on the website. Good luck on finding a customer service number

Ordered the JFK Wedding cake for my anniversary a week in advance. Paid the expedited shipping to have it delivered on that day. Didn't arrive until the next day and the cake was ruined. Goldbelly has a no refund policy so I 2as offered either a credit to my Goldbelly account or a replacement cake. I do not recommend them for special occasions and their customer service is atrocious.

I placed an order for a cake. Choose the delivery date. It was not delivered on that date. Additionally, it was 10 shades lighter than the picture from the website, and the sides of the cake were mostly white, not the pink color it was supposed to be. Do not trust them. They will give you the runaround and will not provide you with any refund despite not getting anything you paid for.

So stuff getting to you on time is a big issue especially if the items are perishable. I ordered ribs and it did not come on time and when it did, it was not cold so I was afraid to get food poisoning. Goldbelly would not issue me a refund instead gave me a credit to buy something else. So I ordered a deep dish pizza. That arrived a day late and surprise surprise the food was not cold. Again they refused to issue me a refund and insisted that they will keep sending stuff until it is right. What a sham of a business. I really don’t want to continue dealing with them but since they don’t issue refunds that’s the game you have to play until they get it right.

Purchased a cake for my brother in law. I live in Australia, he lives in California.
The site lures you in with Free delivery - but not for the item I purchased ..
They offer $20 off for a first purchase, but not for the item I purchased …
So I paid $125 for a cake. And $20 for delivery.
The next day the cake was on offer for $105!
There was No delivery update, only ‘will be delivered today’. Useless.
When I clicked on any link in their email for tracking etc it went to a blank page.
I Had to copy and paste the tracking number into a UPS tracking webpage.
In the end the cake was on the road for 2 days within Los Angeles! It was eventually delivered at 7pm on the day of the birthday!
Totally gutted. Horrible experience. Never again.

Pie came thawed, not frozen. Tasted terrible, crust was hard as a rock and way too much sugar! Yuck!!

Edit: insane response from the company. Their “policy” is to offer a refund and then not deliver on it and then go back on their word and offer a $20 credit? It wasn’t a problem with the “presentation”, the whole order was ruined. And yes, this was 5 years ago and I’m still mad about it.
Horrible experience - ordered a Deli Dinner kit as a kit which arrived with the pickle container broken and the bread completely soaked. I reached out a they offered a refund or replacement. I requested a refund, which I never received. I reached out multiple times and finally someone got back to me and offered me a $20 store credit, which was insulting. I live in Alaska and the shipping costs alone were $30. They said they could only refund the damaged items (bread and pickles), which makes no sense at all as it was a meal kit (not to mention they can't ship just the bread and pickles). Went back and forth with them for months. Really embarrassed that I sent this out as a gift. Terrible customer service.

Cheyenne was the most helpful customer service rep! Thank you for helping me with a difficult situation dealing with cakes I purchased for my daughter’s birthday.
