As an author, I am unable to claim my work, even though I've tried time and time again, and made them aware of the issue repeatedly. In order for an author to claim their name on Goodreads, they... See more

I really like Goodreads and find myself using it quite a lot, but for some reason, both the mobile app and the website look like something from the early 00s. Lots of bugs, lots of features that c... See more

Helm

I thought the book jumped about too much, various timescales with no hint of when they were. Lots of content with unnecessary explicit sex details. Overall a good read .

Just plain wrong

Weird, I just stumbled upon Goodreads Trustpilot page and it got only 2,1 stars. If you are just a regular book reader like me and my friends that's just plain wrong. Goodreads is a very trustworthy site for book reviews. I give them 5 stars, no doubt or hesitation.

This is the worst experience for any…

This is the worst experience for any author! Scam reviews and show casing delisted books! It doesn't matter if you tell support books are delisted and reviews fake, they don't remove the books and as author you can't remove yourself from Goodreads! Should be illegal!

Yuri Sar who blogs or works for this…

Yuri Sar who blogs or works for this company thinks it's ok to harass people online for being LGBTQ allies and defending transgender people's right to exist. She also thinks being self employed or being on universal credit is something to bully others for. Certainly not what I expected from an employee of a company!

Absolute joke of a "reviews" website

Absolute joke of a "reviews" website:
It's allowed publications that haven't even been published yet to get panned. It has no credibility as long as it lets this heinous astroturfing persist.
Check out The Bookseller's website for an article entitled "Authors hit by bad reviews before review copies are even circulated".

toxic community

If you only want to keep track of the books read and share progress with a fellow reading "community" then goodreads can work for you.

But if you are getting a bit more involved in creating lists, making comments, honestly reviewing your books or even publish your own books there, I think you will be greeted by the toxicity this "community" nurtures.

- There are dozens of trolls waiting to just negatively comment and spam (not creatively) on anything that gets created inside (even as a simple list where you freely add your books) and guess what - the DEVS will listen to them :)
- there is little to no honest moderation
- there is almost zero constructive feedback
- there is no possibility to verify if the books are actually getting read *unlike kpd

Poor

Pros:
* A lot of books

Cons:
* A lot of translations not combined with the original work
* Terrible costumer service (they don't read your message, even though the site is called GoodReads)
* LGHDTV+ propaganda everywhere (is there any escape from it on the internet nowadays? Sigh)

This site is infested with trolls who use it to vent their spite and abuse while pretending to ‘review’ books.

Useless contacting the ‘monitors’ who simply ignore you.

It’s high time legislation was brought in to ban sites like Goodreads that publish hateful material.

I hope there is a class action suit against Goodreads

I spent 10K on an editor who went line by line from Palmetto Publishers and when I put my book on Goodreads the woke attacked it by saying you can't read it because of all the misspellings. I wrote a historical romance using the language and events of that time period and was called a racist.

Support staff are useless

Support staff are useless, they don’t read emails and just send generic replies. I would not recommend using this app. I’ve logged 150 books read in the last 2 years and now I cannot get into my account because the staff aren’t willing to help. They’ve sent endless repetitive generic trouble shooting emails without actually listening to my issue. Giving up and finding a better app.

Support staff not paying attention

It seems I’m not the only one who feels like they are hitting a brick wall with the support team. I work in tech so have had a fair amount of dealing with IT support teams and never have I been so ignored and frustrated. I can’t access my account and honestly I’m not sure it’s worth having to deal with the support team. They clearly don’t read messages and just copy and paste from a script.
