Awesome Website for Finding and Tracking Books
This is an amazing website for finding new reads and keeping track of books that you have already read. I especially love the Giveaways feature because even if you don't win (and you will not win often - there are just too many people interested in each book), you can still find lots of new books to read that you may not have been aware of before. I've won several Giveaways and discovered some truly great books that I probably wouldn't have read otherwise. I know that Goodreads has a lot of one-star reviews, many of which seem to be related to privacy, but I've used this site for more than five years and have never experienced any issues. Overall, this site is excellent for readers!
Real great platform!
Very good support system and support…
Very good support system and support personnel
Useless Support, Zero Privacy Protections
Talking to some members of the support team is absolutely useless—they don’t bother reading your requests and respond with irrelevant, dismissive answers as if you’re stupid (Shabana R.)
There’s no real privacy or way to protect yourself from stalkers. The blocking system is a joke: it only makes your profile appear “private,” but the stalker can still see the conversation thread and access the link to your profile. C’est une dinguerie.
I like the idea about the app
I like the idea about the app, but it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to regain control over my account and I cannot login. Their support is not very supportive in aiding with this either and I keep running my head into the wall interacting with them.
very important for me, I use it almost every day
great expirence with the entire process of verifying what to read. before I read any book I always make sure to read many many reviews because if I started a book I just can't stop even if its horrible… Rhats why I need to make sure any book is amazing and suits my reading interests
Strong Force by Rene Roberts
This book is a must-read that provided deep insights into the realities of our everyday lives. I was captivated by how relatable the characters were - from the free-spirited Sue, brimming with patience and wisdom, to Dr. Ramsey, who initially struggled to find fulfillment but eventually learned to embrace life. My personal favorite was Jax, the rebellious teenager grappling with unexplained anger issues. Loved this book.
Nearly lost my account. Customer services were useless
I'm a reader and I use goodreads to log the books I've read, I know I won't read a book that I've already read using this. It is a good app for this.
My experience with their customer service has been atrocious.
3 weeks ago, I realised I had two accounts. One with email address 'A', and the other with email address 'B'. The 'A' account was an empty account. The 'B' account was my main account with hundreds of books I'd reviewed on there. However, 'B' was my old email address and 'A' is the one I use.
So I decided to clean this up. I logged into my 'A' goodreads account and deleted it. I then logged into my 'B' goodreads account and changed the email address to 'A'.
Straight after this, I was unable to log in to my account with either email address. I tried using 'Forgot my password' with both addresses and neither email address received an emaiI. I contacted customer service explaining the situation and had a useless reply telling me to use the 'Forgot my password' if I cannot log in. (I already explained in my query to them that I had tried this).
The next day, I was still unable to log in. I thought I had lost my account.
I then went on holiday for 2 weeks and forgot about this situation. When I returned, I was able to log in to my main goodreads account with 'A'! And see all my books in there.
Their 'Contact us' has a bug reporting option, so I decided to report this bug. I typed out a long message, detailing all of the above and what had happened to me. My query included the line "This is no longer an issue for me but I'm reporting this bug so that noone else experiences it".
Their reply said: "Please send us a screenshot of the bug you are experiencing. And please describe the bug so we can help fix this for you".
Its clear they didn't bother to read my message that I'd spent a long time typing out to get all the details in. I had just described the bug already. And obviously I can't send a screenshot because it happened 2 weeks ago.
I can't be bothered with them again.
VEEERY BAD!
In 2024 this site is suuuuuuuuuuuuuper obsolete, impossible to add a book with a decent procedure, not optimized and very confusing,do i need to watch a tutorial on youtube to understand these basics? No thanks
AWFUL EXPERIENCE
AWFUL EXPERIENCE! Who the hell made this layout? THe user experience is awful you cannot join as author and you cannot add your book at all!

despite advertising free online reading of a certain book, this book was not actually available to read online. It was instead offered for sale to read online
Very useful but buggy
Found it very useful but it can also be very slow and not very responsive. Have encounter bugs from time to time.
My virtual library
I started using Goodreads as a way to structure my reading and don't forget what books I want to read, and now it is my 3rd year of using it.
I like how I can choose different editions of the book, or the language I read a book in.
Unfortunately not all books in Ukrainian are searchable, but usually it is some old books or small editions, so I have around 90% of my readings in Goodreads lists.
Also, I find very useful how I can see the whole series of books from first to last. It saves me time into researching what book to read next. With book series like Dune it is, indeed, very useful.
I also like social function of the website. It is fun to peek what your online friends are reading and in case, if it's interesting, to save it on yours to read list.
Goodreads Rocks
Goodreads rocks. It's a great service and a great team always working hard to help people find great books just for them. As with any large site and community there will be issues and I know for a fact (because I used to work there) that all issues are taken very seriously and the team works hard to make things right.

I love Goodreads!
I love Goodreads! They helped me find my new favorite books!
-The Backrooms by Morgan Solis AND Yellow WallPaper A CLASSIC!!!!!
I highly recommend it due to their community and underdog finds!
Very shady company!
Very shady company who make a big deal about protecting reviewers, but don't take any action once authors breach their policies.
An author posted a message threatening me on Goodreads when I gave a justified one star review on their book. Goodreads have a policy against this but they took no action against the author. Goodreads told me to repeatedly send in my complaint 4 times (without explaining why I had to do this, surely one submission is sufficient) but didn't bother to reply to any of them, just ignored me.
Censorship.
I find it funny that they support banned books given they've censored some of my reviews. Hence, I deleted my account and never visited there again.
