Security are awful
First of all we had our flight to the airport was delayed meaning what would have been a 5 hour stay in the airport became a 1 hour one and when we reached the airport after our flight it took us forever to get through security and in the process they took away our power bank that had been on 3 flights beforehand (Edinburgh - C.D.G then C.D.G - Ajaccio then Ajaccio - Geneva) in which we had no problem flying with before and we were heading back to Edinburgh where we had flown form with the power bank and in general the airport wasn't the best all the staff there other than security were generally okay but out whole stay there was awful and they never let us into the lounge we booked and payed for because there was too little time until our next flight.
Shockingly racist approach to security
Shockingly racist approach to security! Whilst I understand security is paramount on flights the staff at Geneva Airport are purposely picking on darker looking passengers. I am Spanish but was born and lived in Switzerland for many years. Travelling with my son my suitcase was passed through security twice and tested for drugs twice! The other people receiving this sort of treatment were middle eastern looking. Everyone white enough was not searched… Shameful behaviour from the staff at Geneva Airport!
Confusing layout funnels passengers…
Confusing layout funnels passengers into bottlenecks with scant signage. Announcements are sporadic and staff rarely volunteer help, leaving travellers hunting for information. Departure areas feel hot and airless, even in cooler months. Food options are limited and eye‑wateringly pricey, a simple sandwich and drink can cost as much as a sit‑down meal in town. Staff interactions lack warmth, adding to an already stressful experience. Overall: one of the poorest airports I’ve used; if possible, route through Lyon, Zurich or another nearby hub instead and spare yourself the hassle.
The place has no conditioning
The place has no conditioning, it's dirty. Really, I was shocked, I expected from Switzerland, higher standard. We were, eventually, put in a circle gate, with no air circulation, not enough places to sit, about 1000 people in a very small circle dome with huge windows and 3 dirty old toilets. Disorganized, late...

If I could give a zero I would.
If there was a plan for the worst airport Geneva would be it. A truly awful place nothing about this airport is good. Rude staff, inefficient services, dirty, and overall appalling
Poor standards for an International Airport.
I travel through this Airport every January on route to the mountains for the ski season. It is my opinion that this Airport facility cannot accommodate the influx of extra passengers during this time of the year. Long queues, baggage delays, lost luggage, damaged luggage, not enough toilets, not enough staff, old buildings, dirty. Passport control inadequate. Bus transfers to and from the plane to the terminal. Overall very poor standards for an international Airport. My advice would be to try and avoid travelling to this airport during the ski season if possible.
One star is too many
One star is too many! Exceptionally rude staff at every customer facing point. The airport is dirty and poorly organized. Avoid like the plague. Fly into Zurich and use the SBB-CFF to get where you need to be in Switzerland.
Terrible airport
The only way to get wifi is to get a paper ticket from one of the few kiosks around in departures. Which is a crazy backwards system and means you can’t access wifi when you land. Also only 2 passport officers to cater to a whole flight from London
Avoid Geneva Airport if you can.
The return of a car to car rental in the French sector was just awful. I drive in Europe 2 or 3 times a year but haven’t driven from Geneva for many years. I’ll be avoiding it again if at all possible. Despite good planning, plenty of time and a good ability to map / sat nav read, getting to the French sector was a real challenge. It should be clear.
Once arrived, having to navigate between terminal 2 and terminal 1 was not easy, only then to have to wait to be taken back to terminal 1 on a bus once we had checked in!
The final issue then being a very long passport queue which nearly made us miss our flight despite planning to arrive at the airport 2.5 hours before the flight.
Owners of the airport (and others) really do need to sort this out. We had no time to even buy a drink, let alone food or shopping, and going to the toilet had a risk of missing the flight.
In short it’s the worst airport experience we’ve had in many many years and we travel to Europe approx 5 times a year, avoid it if you can.

Two years in a row 24/25 the queues through passport control entering Switzerland have been unacceptably long!! In ‘24 it was over two hours 30 mins!!! I was nearly passing out, I just couldn’t stand for that long!! The EU channels were practically empty with lots of staff.
This year was as bad but the queue time was a little less although it still led us to miss our connection for onward travel causing further 3hours wait for next bus!!
As an international airport surely it is their duty to smooth out this problem and not cause such distress and discomfort to passengers wether they are non EU or not! We are all travelling through their airport and bringing revenue to the country

Awful airport so disorganised at every level ….queues to get through security, queues to get a bus to get to the main terminal, queues to get past the boarding desk, queues to get another bus to the plane ….we were 3 hours early for a flight and still only made it. A lot of staff standing around not doing much at all. Baggage on arrival took over an hour to come onto the belt. With family living in Switzerland I have been so impressed with public transport so it’s usual that the Airport is not similar. Airport processes need overhauled …come on Switzerland!!!!

Crazy queues for non EU passport holders. This airport is a joke!
Very long unnecessary queues for all…
Very long unnecessary queues for all passport holders who are not in the EU. Machines only working for those in the EU who are then given priority to pass through quickly whilst as a British passport holder I was left for over an hour queuing as only 2 people checking passports. Welcome to Geneva, don't come again !!!

Do not travel through this airport it’s like a cattle shed . Poor facilities very expensive and pass port control is a joke . I missed my flight because the the queues for passport control to we’re sound and slow. One old baldy passport control guy was deliberately slow and needs sacking.

Unbelievably long queue for immigration. The worst I've come I've come across in the past 10 years. Disgraceful for a developed country
Worst airport ever
Worst airport ever! Crowded, massive lines, nowhere to sit down. Will avoid at all cost in thr future.

Ludicrously long queues at passport control...again at Geneva Airport - for non EU passport holders.
Switzerland and France - you are happy to take our money as tourists but you do not welcome us. You punish us!
Disappointing Experience at Passport Control
I waited in line for over 30 minutes yesterday at passport control between Terminal 1 and Gates D. During that time, I witnessed staff rolling their eyes and muttering to each other whenever a passenger made a minor mistake—such as standing in the wrong place. The service was so slow that a long queue had formed, and some passengers were visibly anxious about missing their flights. Given the circumstances, it was understandable that stress-related mistakes would happen.
When my turn came, my "Bonjour" was met with a cold, silent stare from the young blonde man at the passport booth, which immediately put me on edge. As I left the booth, I briefly turned in the wrong direction. When I corrected myself, I noticed the officer tutting in disapproval.
Your staff seem to lack empathy. While they may be familiar and comfortable with the process, they should recognize that for many travelers like myself, flying is an infrequent, unfamiliar, and stressful experience. A little patience and kindness would go a long way.
Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience.
