Written by the company

We are a family business, owned by Ben and Kara Hanna, that values premiere, quality roses and the preservation of unique and rare roses. Located in the fertile Willamette Valley in Oregon, we are continuing the legacy of John and Louise Clements who founded the nursery back in 1972 on their own small farm. Our offices are still located in the farmhouse where they lived in St. Paul, Oregon. We are passionate about hand propagating each rose to ensure that we provide our customers with the best own-root roses available. We are committed to providing own-root roses that provide profuse blooms, are winter hardy, are disease resistant, and are true to variety. While own-root roses cannot be quickly produced, like grafted roses, we think the difference and quality is worth it.

Sale policy just “OK”

It never occurred to me that this kind of site might have a Black Friday special, and my recent order had not shipped yet when I saw the Black Friday special on your site. When I asked about getting a credit for the difference, you all issued me a gift card for the $20 difference. While I appreciate that, I am struggling to think when I will ever have the opportunity to use it. My yard is not large and I am not likely to need more roses anytime in the near future. Even if I ordered some soil additives, I’m not going to be able to order enough to hit the free shipping threshold. Really wish you could have just issued me a partial refund.

I received my roses a day earlier than expected, so excited. Send your customer service a message. The roots were very wet (which from your video, I was expecting). Got them in the ground next day. One looks good heirloom but creme de la creme not so good. Will monitor for next week or so. Hope it’s just a little “shock”. Appreciate your help.

Excellent Support!

Thank you very much for sending the shear holster which was missing from the original order.

My experience with your staff was excellent! Rhonda expeditiously, pragmatically, and politely resolved the issue in the shortest possible time.

I will certainly order from you again.

Useful follow up email once order…

Useful follow up email once order placed; included 2 educational video links to ensure post delivery success with the roses, as well as the Delivery Tracking link. The shipping box is well thought out and makes maximum use of space while remaining an easy to lift and move box containing 4 rose plants. The roses were easy to remove from the shipping box, looked healthy and 3 days in are quickly filling in. It is obvious Heirloom Roses are excellent horticulturists, artisans of rose culture and production. They deliver a top quality product at a fair price. These roses are being planted in Georgia (hence the December delivery) and I will be ordering again.

Very pleased new customer

This was my 5th rose bush purchased. All have come in a very timely manor and packaged wonderfully. I have used the fish fertilizer on my first 4 bushes and they have grown and bloomed beautifully. Yes it was shocking to get a few small sticks in the box but they made up for it quickly with a drink of water and some sunshine. They grew and bloomed beyond my expectations. I will definitely be purchasing again when my next wish list rose becomes available. I'm looking forward to the spring.

Delivery as expected

Delivery as expected. Since the rose plant is dormant now, I won’t have anything more to say till next spring, but we’ll get it planted and keep it in our small greenhouse till February.

I received my order in winter

I received my order in winter, it’s too cold for rose. They looked like still too young and weak. But I hope they will survive to spring and get new leaves. 🙏🥰

At Heirloom Roses, all of our roses are potted and greenhouse-grown, so we are able to ship all 12 months of the year depending on when you choose. May gardeners choose to receive their roses and overwinter them in pots until time to plant in the spring. We have information on our website as how to overwinter your roses, if you need more information.

Our roses are shipped semi-dormant in November, dormant from December – February, semi-dormant in early March, and non-dormant the rest of the year.

Our rose experts are available by phone, chat, or email if you have any questions at all. Please visit us at HeirloomRoses.com.
