I found the representative at the end…

I found the representative at the end of the phone most pleasant and helpful. I had been considering moving from my previous Health Care provider for some time and Dee persuaded me to make the move .I am so glad she did .I have every confidence in HMCA going forward !

HMCA decided to pull out of Ireland…

HMCA decided to pull out of Ireland giving customers 6 weeks notice. Pre existing conditions not covered by any new Insurance company. Requires 5 year wait.
HMCA as a company in the Caring industry didn't give a damn about their long term Irish customers. I'm sure there are protection laws against same and I will be checking them out.

It should be noted that the decision to withdraw from the Irish healthcare market was driven by no Brexit deal being reached at the end of 2020. During the 4 years in the run up to Brexit HMCA investigated a number of options to continue providing the cover they had provided for over 30 years. Unfortunately no economically viable solution could be found due to the complexities of the local Irish regulations.

Caring for its customers is fundamental to HMCA’s ethos. Whilst we have had to withdraw from the Irish market due to circumstances beyond our control; we continue to offer the same personalised service to all our UK customers.

Crazily Expensive

Crazily Expensive. Got a flyer through an association I'm a member of promising 40% discount. Their offer, including the supposed "40% discount", was nearly 3 times what we pay with Vitality for same benefits. Don't waste 5 mins on a call.

Be careful re exceptions on joint surgery

Unfortunately, HMCA has just informed me that their policies EXCLUDE cover for any SECOND surgery on ANY joint having had previous surgery!
In my case a “revision” of a previously “resurfaced” hip is not covered, so I now face a bill of £18k!
As I’ve had surgery on both hips and shoulders I’m now only covered for knees and ankles!!

Great Service from HMCA

We have a family policy with HMCA and have unfortunately needed to call upon it due to my eldest daughter needing ACL surgery. I can not fault the service we have received throughout the whole process and would definitely recommend this company if you were looking to get health insurance.

QUESTIONABLE HMCA 20 AUGUST 2019 REVIEW

Am suspicious of the previous 20 Aug 2019 Five star review as the reviewer has never posted on Trustpilot before! Moreover, until I posted my 1 star review, there had never been any previous Trustpilot reviews for HMCA. This adds further credibility to my initial 1 star review for this company. Will eagerly await the next HMCA review. UPDATE: HMCA REPORTED MY ORIGINAL REVIEW, SO THIS IS A MODERATED VERSION TO MOLLIFY THEIR OBJECTIONS.
