A great selection of model aircraft, it was difficult to choose what to get a young boy for his 10th Birthday; however, in the end I got an Airfix Starter Kit which included not only the model Haw... See more

Company actually sells garbage now
I was released from the hospital last month after going in for a check up from my second spinal operation, which has also affected my muscles and nerves for my arms, legs and back
But have recently started coughing up blood and needed to be kept in for a few days (being unable to drive I had to get lifts but can't anymore as I need to be as still as possible) but before then I wanted to see if there was something in hobby craft for me to do while I don't move my back or legs (I need another MRI for my arms)
But I purchased 2 jigsaws from them, one was £15 and the other £16
However after my mother just opened them to find that hobby craft had resealed and resold (to me) a damaged returned item
She showed me, it looks like a toddler went to town on the pieces, bent and chewed on
Completely unusable
Yet I contact hobby craft and got the most hostile advisor ever
"What's the problem"
"Ah well,"
"Got the receipt?"
"Not on me"
"Bank statement?"
Try to find it on my banking app"
"Bank statement?"
"2 seconds"
"Do you have a bank statement?"
"No but I have proof that I used hobby craft. However the statement won't be ready until next month"
"Then we can't help you, without a receipt or statement"
"Can I speak to a manager"
"No"
I just cut it off then
No wonder this company was bought out, I sincerely hope this company goes bust as they are now actually selling garbage and expecting people to just buy their garbage

Inaccessible for People with Mobility Issues
I went to look/purchase a knitting pattern. These were on the 1st floor. I had damaged my knee & could not managed stairs. I picked this store, which was 30mins away as it said they had a lift. The lift was not working, with no time frame of when it would be working. I asked if they would be able to bring the knitting patterns downstairs for me to looks at. They said no, there were too many & they weren't in any order. Very disappointing. So I left the store. I won't be going back

explorer 4
Upgraded from cricut joy to explorer 4. Ordered on line no products in-store but arrived quick.
Great range of crafty materials
My daughter and I love creative things so having such a huge range of different mediums to choose from all from one place is great. Their online service is also handy as our nearest one is a good 45 mins drive away so we mostly buy online and the website and buying process are simple to navigate and delivery is swift.
Children's craft containing asbestos
After receiving an email about an item I bought (for my three year.old last year) potentially containing asbestos, I will NEVER use this shop again.
Hobbycraft is a treasure
Hobbycraft is a treasure!
I like to buy online to collect in store if there is an offer on, otherwise I shop in store. I always come out with more than I went in for! I just feel inspired when I am in there!
Disabled access is great, nice wide aisles. Staff are really helpful and knowledgable and genuinally interested in crafts and also in what we make as customers, I love chatting about what I am currently working on.
I've started new crafts thanks to being enticed in store, and it has really helped me bloom creatively!
Poor quality. Overpriced
Staff really helpful. I wanted to buy some felt for toy making but the quality of the felt was appalling - almost see through. I also wanted some chicken wire but it was wildly overpriced like their art materials. It’s worrying that a big chain like this can cause the demise of small craft shops and gain a monopoly , over charging and indifferent to quality.

Hobbycraft often have good deals and are very competitive. Their store staff are always very pleasant and helpful.
Absoutely Appalled.
Absolutely livid after the recall of the craft box with asbestos in the sand. I have exposed my granddaughter to potential health hazards because of negligence on this companys behalf. Its far too late to rectify this since it was a few years ago. What will it do long term?. How will it affect her health in the future. This is a criminal act exposing young children to such hazards . This company should be held accountable as it is obvious with such a long time scale that this was known some time ago. A very angry grandmother.
Fabulous item at affordable price
Fabulous item at affordable price. Would recommend
Thank you
Negligent company
We have a giant box of crafts and just received a recall notice that the sand may contain asbestos. It seems highly negligent that this company would sell contaminated sand to be used by children. It also took them days to issue a recall notice even when they had been notified that the sand contained asbestos. We will not be shopping here again - profit should never be put above the health and safety of children.
I am beyond appalled that Hobbycraft…
I am beyond appalled that Hobbycraft sold a children’s product containing asbestos.
Because of this, my daughter and my nephews have been exposed inside our home during normal use of what was meant to be a safe, child-friendly craft product. That is a sentence I never expected to have to write.
Asbestos is a known carcinogen. It has been banned for decades. There is no grey area, no excuse, and no acceptable failure point that explains how this ends up in something marketed for children. The fact that this was only discovered after parents raised concerns makes it even more unforgivable.
A recall and refund do not undo the fear, anger, or sense of violation this has caused. Trust is everything when it comes to children’s products, and Hobbycraft has destroyed that trust completely.
I feel absolute disgust that a company of this size allowed something so dangerous into family homes. I will never shop at Hobbycraft again, and I would urge other parents to think very carefully before trusting this company with their children’s safety.
Asbestos in children’s sand
Absolutely disgusted that hobbycraft have found asbestos in the sand in their giant box of craft. Search hobby craft giant box of craft sand recall.
How on earth did asbestos get into children’s sand? A full investigation is required but will never happen. Will never shop here again.
It's rare to find the contents smashed…
It's rare to find the contents smashed from Hobbycraft, they are always well wrapped with brown fluffy papers and so far, so good with the photo frames. The paint arrived in good condition, they were aerosols. Packed into the little boxes they can only be transported in. I was very pleased with the order which arrived promptly.
Asbestos found
Have ordered items previously without concern.
However staggered to read today that Asbestos has been found in children's toy activity.
As a terminally ill sufferer of Mesothelioma it's hard to believe children could have been exposed to this extremely aggressive and deadly cancer,at any age let alone young children
I don't want to use this store again.
Appalling handling of asbestos in sand
Appalling handling of asbestos being found in the Hobbycraft Giant Box of Craft. No guidance on risk level or anything even close reassure on the matter. It makes me feel so sick that my 3 young girls have been playing with the affected sand. I will never purchase form Hobbycraft again and I hope anyone who reads this does the same.
Asbestos in children’s sand! Avoid shopping here
Will never shop here again after just reading that the Giant Box of Craft contains asbestos. The company has hidden the recall information on their website. The Hobbycraft own product that has a recall is also currently still on sale on Amazon!
Hobbycraft TV
Disappointed that over a week ago I placed an order and it still hasn't arrived. Why would I want to order from Hobbycraft TV when delivery times are extremely long and communication is nonexistent. If I order directly from the Hobbycraft website I can get my delivery within a week with great communication. Also I'm not impressed that I have to have two logins, one for Hobbycraft TV and one for Hobbycraft directly. Why can I not use one login for both? This first experience has made me reluctant as to whether I would want to order from their TV package again.

"I am writing this to warn other parents. I recently discovered that the Giant Box of Craft I bought for my daughter contained traces of asbestos in the coloured sand vials.
A refund is not enough. This product was imported and sold in the UK despite containing a substance that has no safe exposure limit. As a parent, I am deeply concerned that my child was put at risk due to a lack of proper safety screening on cheap imports. Hobbycraft needs to take more responsibility for the products they source from overseas to ensure no other family has to deal with the fear of long-term health consequences." Never will I shop here again.
If your reading this Go to you MP and trade and standards report them. They should not get away with such disregard for the public.
