If your in a flat your screwed. Everyone wants a palace with 5 star busters to wait at them, it’s stupid. I think we would all love houses but realistically you’re not going to get them, there’s nothing wrong with flats so stop being selfish. If people are going to be too picky or be a time waster they shouldn’t even be on the site, they should be removed. The time wasters as well saying “oh I’m interested” then never act get back to messages after months of communication or even immediately. Some don’t have pictures so don’t know what your looking at, the matches aren’t really matched so that don’t help, some don’t even read the as and messages you from the middle of no where, just a waste of time at that point really.

Lately, over 2 months ago emailed them with problems, not even bothered to get in touch, says I havent replied to a message so cannot message anyone, which isn't true, I reply to all my messages, no messages there, now they want a new password, done that and not letting me in, deserves no stars at all. Desktop and mobile are showing property on one site not the other

What a time waster. You can be a 95 percent match with someone but if you do not live in an area they want then you are in reality a 0 percent match making the matching system pointless if they don't want your area then it does not matter on how many things you match up on does it?
Entitled people on their wanting large driveways for multiple cars large bedrooms large gardens etc meaning swapping is a nightmare as they wont compramise. So many lame people wanting too much for what they have.
Only ever swapped once on this system got lied to about the neighbours nasty piece of work she was. We are only on it to show we are trying to move not that we ever will because people want the world for a tiny bungalow.😒

The whole homeswapper system needs a overhaul.
Housing associations are using the existence of homeswapper to avoid doing their duty when it comes to repairs, saying if you don't like your home "go on homeswapper" knowing full well swaps won't be authorised due to repairs. You wont find a swap if your home is not in tip top condition.
A better system would get rid of homeswapper entirely. You want to move to another area? Your council/Housing association could easily do a simple swap on a register for another tenant. You can go on that list, they can go on the other. But they don't want to do work so they wont.
Instead they outsource it, removing them from taking any blame for anything. Its all on You and the other swapper. There are people that want to swap to my area and I want to swap to there's but we are stuck as properties don't match up.
Edit: I received a replay from homeswapper. I dont know why you are telling me to talk to my landlord about repairs. That is not what my review was about
my review was about how the program is redundant and swapping would be better controlled by the landlords.

Usually inaccurate search results, often receiving irrelevant matches. A severe lack of effective customer service for website problems, leading to prolonged issues and an attitude of couldn't care less, rudeness and laziness. NOT recommended for anyone who wants results.

This site has changed beyond recognition, i've seen the worst of humanity at play, people with prime areas and houses having multiple multiswaps on the go which inevitably leaves others who thought they found a swap dissapointed, this also ends with nobody moving because the ones that think they've got the upper hand have the same done to them, people at their worst unfortunately, there's no hope. A desperate lack of social housing has created a monster.

We in a 6 way multiway swap.
The tenant coming to mine accidentally did found a swap application which is showing rejected by thier landlord on thier swap tracker page and all the boxes are ticked apart from one stating all application recieved.
My landlord has started a application for them with a ref MX...they have been sending these links from beg of January so that they can complete the application...everytime they go to do the application it's goes to application that is rejected and can't see the application as
It needs to be cancelled first ( they don't have the cancel option either). They contacted housing they said homeswapper have to cancel from thier side.
It's been 2 weeks since we messaged homeswapper and I have not heard anything back.
Everyone in my swap team are getting frustrated and I could potentially loose out on this swap we made.
Everyone has done all thier application but tenant coming to mine are stuck because she can't access the link?
We called our landlords n they both said to contact homeswapper as they can't do anything from thier side.

I registered with Homeswapper over a year ago. I have a neurological disorder so i forget my password. I have been locked out of my account for nearly six months. I have sent them so many emails explaining i need help because i am locked out of my account. I explained i have cancer and meed to move closer to my family as i dont know how much time i have left and my parents are over 80 years old so i need to be closer to them. They have continuously ignored me and i am fed up with them. I have cleared my catche but i dont receive any of their emails apart from one that was a timed email to help me sign back into my account the last time i got blocked for not remembering my password. I don’t get the reset your password email either. I tried opening another account using my other email. But i got the same problem. Not receiving any emails from them. If anyone can help me it would be much appreciated.

Absolutely excellent website, highly recommended from me. I had many serious enquiries for a mutual exchange which I did complete within a couple of months.
Many thanks Homeswapper.

over the years I've moved 3 times using homeswapper. It's a clunky, old fashioned website but it works, until it doesn't. I haven't received any emails for over a month. I used to get a daily update email. The biggest problem is other users. Some people dont want to move, are lonely and think its a way to meet new friends, can't or don't read the details of your property, lie about theirs, just want to look at other people's homes, try to pressure you into swapping even if you said NO to them multiple times.
The search feature on the app is very frustrating, you have to keep entering the features of the property you are looking for each time you perform a search. There doesn't seem to be any customer service to actually speak to about problems using the website or app.ive been emailing for a month and not getting anywhere.
NEEDS IMPROVEMENT TO WEED OUT TIMEWASTERS.

This site just does not work, since the "upgrade" its been verifiably worse, says "oops something went wrong" for everything, sending messages, searches, I am certain that this site withholds certain properties from you even when you open up all the search parameters, for instance there are 2 people I know of who's houses are in a certain area that I know are on homeswapper but no matter how specific my search is homeswapper will never show me their addresses it feels like they're gatekeeping housing, if they are, what am I actually paying them money for because its not the functionality of the site, searches will bring up properties miles from your desired location but apparently will hide actual properties in that location which kinda negates their multiswap function

My experience with the homeswapper was a good one. The app helped me get what I needed—the opportunity to exchange with interested and willing people who also needed to move house.

Home swapper have lot of mental health problem and always playing up with a change of password every 6 months that's crazy if someone sent message but take about 8 hours or so this website looks so awful and sick I'm glad I've been deleted account and looked better now

it's not the website, or the landlords, its the people I swapped with i had an issue with. not only did the mess about and keep changing days, but when the day finally came they hadn't emptied the flat and kept me waiting 2 hours costing me extra for my van hire, they emptied another home rather than the one I was moving into. it's an act of selfishness.expecting me to also book a hotel because they didn't empty. then eventually they cleared 1 room, most of my stuff fitted in 1 room, they had to come a wek later to empty what was left behind, a dirty horde of junk and cubards filled with junk, there was cat feaces stained up walls, on lino and it smelt very bad and looked unused for years. it was a horrible experience for me, costing me so much to clean and redecorate, I can't speak for every swapper, but these people were extremely filthy and messed me about for months.
I have emailed this company a few times about properties that are on their site and the information about them, or I should say a lack of. 3 properties with just a mobile number for contact, it goes straight to voicemail. I really don't know how many times I have rang with no returns. So I asked Homeswapper to please look into this, my replies from them, I am to be patient and it can take weeks for a tenancy advisor/landlord to get back to you! How many times do I have to ring a probably non existent property advisor before Homeswapper will listen? And the best of it, my landlord gave me permission to move!

Pathetic site.
People are rude and ignorant on there. Common courtesy went out window when some people on there. Simple no thanks dosent hurt.
Some are only on there for attention

Does not reset password using safe suggested password. Company does not reply to emails. Company does not supply telephone number. If I could give this a minus star rating I would. Do not pay to use this company as it does not provide the service you think you are paying for. The ombudsman needs to look into this shambles of a company!
