The price tag for this lodge (static caravan) was in excess of £650 for 4 nights… Admittedly, I paid less than this but still felt the premium was massively short of the standard.
I have stayed in caravans extensively, so I am not ignorant or the quirks or foibles that come with it - you just make it work.
However, I have never found this level of discomfort. The bed (which I raised with reception to be dismissed) was beyond uncomfortable. I have no physical ailments or issues, but it must be the cheapest possible bedding known to man - to the point I slept in the car one night. The lounge seating was obviously the cheapest cushioning possible.
Showering was a joke. I know the water pressure issues that come with these resorts, but one morning I tried for over an hour to actually shower myself - first cold, then drop in pressure, then scalding, then no water - I had to get my partner to fill up a basin from the sink in the end.
The mircowave was unusable - tried to warm milk for a coffee - and after 2 mins it had just gone off cold.
The cooker - namely the grill - could barely fit 3 pieces of bacon on… And it didn’t give out enough heat to cook it at all - 20 mins and it was still not cooked enough to eat. This accommodation could not possibly self cater for more than two people. Luckily, the local pizza shop knows this and has left flyers on the board at the entrance!!
Dog hairs - which you’d expect because it’s pet friendly - were in the cupboards and just way beyond anything acceptable.
To top it all off - we returned after an afternoon out and the door was unlocked …. Which I know for certain was not left in anyway insecure when we left.
Basically, avoid.
