Laptop stand via a Huiterr…

Fraudulent sales via social media. I ordered a laptop stand via a Huiterr advertisement on Facebook marketplace.

I received a cheap, flimsy piece of plastic. I was expecting a solid wooden framed laptop stand.

I will be lodging a formal complaint to Facebook and Paypal so that this type of fraudulent sales can be prevented.

If I could give this company 0

If I could give this company 0, I would! They sell scam products so you think you're buying one thing and get something cheap and completely different. Don't bother because you'll spend claiming through PayPal.

Laptop stand scam

Hi
Sadly I didn’t see these reviews before falling into the same trap. Ordered the nice wooden laptop stand and got a ridiculous piece of plastic sent to me. I keep emailing and they keep saying it’s not worth returning and will I take a £3 refund then a 5 dollar refund etc etc it’s been going backwards and forwards for weeks and I’m not getting anywhere - complete scam

Update- I contacted PayPal and they gave me an immediate refund - Thank you PayPal

Please stay clear they are con artists

Just like everyone here, the AD popped up on my phone on BOGOF so i paid using my paypal balance.

Few weeks later, i got a flimsy metal through the post.
I took pictures of the item that was delivered, the delivery packaging clearly showing the tracking number that was on the delivery email.
i went to their website took a screenshot of the work station they advertised and also copied the web link.
I raised a paypal dispute and uploaded all the pictures and the web link.
I got full refund from papypal, these people should be shut down they are con artists.

Beware social media ads from this company - especially for workstations!

This is depressing. I am currently chasing them over exactly the same wood workstation being substituted by a cheap flimsy tablet holder that many previous reviews below are complaining about. An email sent 3 days ago remains unacknowledged, as does one sent earlier today in which I mentioned I would be reviewing them later today. Reading through Trustpilot, it sounds as if I will be lucky to get a fraction of my £19.99 back.
Annoyed with myself now for trusting something I found being plugged through a social media site. I think it was Instagram, but not certain now. The delivery certainly came in from abroad- I guess China - though a UK address is given on the huiterr website. Off now to explore how I paid to see if I am covered via a credit card or PayPal. Will also contact Which to suggest it provides a warning about this company in its weekly scam alerts.

The item I ordered never arrived

The item I ordered never arrived. they sent me a reply stating that it had been put though the letter box. This would have been impossible as it was a portable workstation. I have been emailing them but no joy. I wish I had NEVER seen their advert.

Item received is nothing like the one…

Item received is nothing like the one pictured, total scam. I’ve put in a paypal dispute so hopefully will get my money back.

Edit: won the paypal dispute with no trouble at all, but a few days later I received an email from the company offering me a partial refund that was a complete joke (they didn’t seem to realise it had already been refunded), so I suspect their customer service would have been a nightmare if I hadn’t had paypal to fall back on.

I'm so sad, I've been conned.

I'm so sad. I ordered this portable work station (BOGOF) for my mum who was about to be bed bound after cancer surgery and lost the use of her arms. this was perfect. a few weeks later, I received a little plastic "laptop" stand which is not fit for purpose. I came about this item from an advert, showing the video of a nice wooden one being used. I don't know what to do, I'll try PayPal and hope i am able to get my money back.

Thieving, Robbing B*stards - UNREAL

Thieving, cheating set of B*stards. PAYPAL is a disgrace facilitating fraud and taking no action to close these crooks down.

Same experience as everyone else - the slow pace of PAYPAL AND OTHERS to act is the reason we have lost money. Their inability to carry out checks etc - even after they have been warned...

IMPORTANT UPDATE: I FILED A DISPUTE WITH PAYPAL AND HAVE GOT A FULL REFUND!!

Chinese scam!! too good to be true and it is

This looks too good to be true and it is it's a scam coming out of China Ne-Yo it's said to laptop stands for £19.99 plus £5 postage and then I my suspicions were raised when my PayPal email said it was coming from the yin yang Chinese company full stop several weeks later and a tiny package has just arrived it's a very lightweight fragile plastic thing that looks a bit like a book stand and I hope I can get my money back from this scam off a Facebook pop-up up from PayPal I've raised a dispute PayPal should not be allowing scam companies like this to use the system I would never put my credit card details in

In process of ordering a 2 to 4 people…HOT TUB

In process of ordering a 2 to 4 people hot tub at £19.99.
I had put on screen a much larger hot tub at the same price.
I tried at least 4 times to get the smaller tub but always same , Start at smaller hot tub end up with larger.
My wife was emphatic only the small one.
This was a good decision after reading other people’s experiences.

Scamming scumbags do not use this company

I bought a folding desk for £25.00 including postage, what I received was not what I ordered and you can get what I was sent for £9.99 on ebay. This was a birthday present for me from my husband so not impressed. Please do not use this company, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

No more information needed

No more information needed. I would suggest anyone who was conned report this to trading standards like I did. I purchased 2 workstations recieved one flimsy bracket they call a laptop stand. I wouldn’t be able to stand a leaflet on it let alone a laptop! I put in for a refund and they claimed they will give me 6 dollars when I paid 25 pounds. So not even operating under U.K. currency. They said on their site you can cancel within 24 hours I did so they didn’t get back to me for a week so it meant it was too late. They made a mistake of placing in their terms and conditions though that they operate under U.K. business laws. So I’m in the process of taking them to court. Don’t care if it’s only 25 quid it’s principle at this point. Everyone report to action fraud and trading standards

Never thought to read reviews - we live and learn to our peril, but perhaps people could also post to fb and other sites warning of these sort of scammers, not just post bad reviews!

Let me join the chorus

Let me join the chorus. Same as everyone else, saw the advert for the portable work station. It looked really good, so ordered and paid by credit card through PayPal, about 3 weeks ago. Guess what arrived by Hermes yesterday? Yep, a small box with metal bits labelled Laptop Stand.

Obviously, no reply to any emails. Will get in touch with my credit card company to try and get a refund.

I wish I had done a bit more investigation before ordering. Live and learn.

ps. I have just found the Laptop Stand for sale on ebay - for £7.49! Plus free shipping. They are quite popular apparently - I wonder why!

Oh, and the Portable Work Station is for sale on Amazon for over £100 more, so I should have remembered the old adage - if it seems too good to be true, it is!!

pps. I contacted the credit card company and informed them that it was a fraudulent transaction and made a claim to get my money back. I am happy to report that they very kindly reimbursed me. Lesson learnt.

I also received an email from the fake company offering £4 'compensation'! Funnily enough the laptop stand has come in quite useful in the end! I will have to send the scammers a reply 'thanking them'!

Wish I’d read the reviews here before I got pulled into this fiasco too.
Same as others before me I ordered the buy one get one free portable wooden workstation and receive 1 flimsy plastic laptop riser worth pennies.
No response from the email I sent.
Filed a dispute with PayPal in anticipation I get my money refunded.
