Braindead customer service.

Braindead customer service.

Went in to get 5 of a thing, not on shelves but in warehouse, asked a person, was sent to customer service, who sent me away because it wasn't click-and-collect. I asked someone else, and that process repeated, so forget it, then, you're clearly not that interested.

Cheaters!!!!!!!!!

Refusing a small refund on an item that was purchased from a $5,000 purchase. They want to give me a gift card. I didn't use a gift card to purchase. They acknowledge the error and still refuse to refund my money.

We bought a pax wardrobe and scheduled…

We bought a pax wardrobe and scheduled it for next day delivery all items were in stock only for the next day to them deliver only half the items. The rest of the wardrobe did not come through. I got in touch with ikea customer service who said as a gesture of goodwill I would get my entire delivery refunded and they guaranteed it would come the next day. It still hadn’t arrived and I got in touch with their customer service who told me there’s no such thing as refunded delivery only the difference is refunded but I have proof their colleague said the entire delivery would be refunded. They have now pushed my “next day delivery” by another 2 days. They need to do better

I purchased a waterproof mattress cover…

I purchased a waterproof mattress cover for my child's bed. When unwell recently it did not stop any liquids from vomitting passing through the advertised 'waterproof cover'. It completely ruined the mattress it was advertised to protect. After complaining and opening a case with IKEA. They had the audacity to refund the cover as a credit note to spend in their own store! They also collected the mattress cover with seur stating they would be testing it which I believed but it appears they have not done this as no results were discussed with me. Taking my complaint further they refused to replace the mattress that was damaged and only a year old despite me providing receipts because I did not purchase it from IKEA. Despite their own advisor agreeing that I should be given a replacement or equal value or refund of the mattress we lost ...I was told to go and speak with the oficina de consumidores as they should refund me?!! A total disgrace. I have spoken today with the oficina de consumidores and I am waiting for IKEA to respond to my email from five days ago. They refused by telephone (agents name I have noted also) to pass me to s supervisor, or to send me a pdf copy of the case and complaint open and basically passed the buck to the office of consumidores. I have a case number and emails and will await assistance when IKEA have the nerve to confirm in writing that they aren't going to do anything about replacing the mattress we lost because of a cover that was not 'waterproof' as they advertised on their website. I also have screenshots of reviews on their own website of customers who have had the very same issues with the sheet not being waterproof at all?! .

How they are allowed to continue selling this product is disgraceful. They should have the decency to remove it from sales until it is investigated as to why this is not an isolated incident as a mattress for a child bed is anything from 80 euros or more. Therefore the refund of the supposed waterproof sheet doesn't cover the loss of the dashed item it failed to protect.
I have been informed by the office of consumidores that IKEA when confronted with their errors have a team of lawyers that work to eliminate any possibility of reclamation's. Perhaps if they spent as much effort in the quality of their products as they do on their team of lawyers there would be no need for them.

No Delivery

Ikea apparently doesn't deliver night stands and we don't have a store in our area. I guess I won't be shopping here and will be giving someone else my business.

Terrible experience and customer…

Terrible experience and customer service is horrifically bad. We paid for new kitchen cabinets, install and counter. We scheduled our installation for a Wednesday a couple weeks before thanksgiving. Our entire kitchen was gutted waiting for this install. On the Tuesday before our install (the day before) we got a call that they messed up scheduling and were not able to get out to install in the morning as scheduled. There was nothing they could do and asked if we would like to reschedule. FOR FEBRUARY! We asked to have a manager call to see what options we had. We tried calling (good luck with that!) and never did get a call or connect with anyone that may be able to help. so we called the 800 number and told them to come pick up all of their stuff and refund it because we could not wait for a kitchen for almost 3 months! They just said sure someone will call you to arrange pick up. Again, no call. a few days later we got a call "we are on our way" uhhh on your way for what? Well, it was a shipping company on the way to get the cabinets. We were never notified. So they took the cabinets and it is now over 4 weeks later and still no return calls and no refund. We called yet again and were told we would get a call to get us the refund. that was 7 days ago and no call and no refund. So to recap, they messed up the delivery, didn't offer any help or solution. They finally picked up the cabinets but still no refund and it is impossible to get an actual person to help you. They did confirm that the cabinets were back at their warehouse so they DO have the product. for the record, the refund we are due is almost $8,000. I don't know about you but I don't have an extra $8,000 to lend Ikea for months at a time. I would NOT recommend doing your kitchen through them. we only chose them for simplicity and they fit the time frame we needed. It has turned out to be the exact opposite! Nothing easy about this. We were able to recreate the kitchen in a couple days at Menard's (and for less money) and are already taken care of. All while we are still waiting for someone to call us back from Ikea and for our refund. seriously Ikea is THE WORST!! Update 12.28 still no resolution after several more calls and emails. Customer service sent a message stating they would like to help, I responded and they never got back to me after that. Finally just filed a dispute with the CC company

1 star – IKEA refuses to resolve a clear case of non-delivery and breach of contract

I ordered and fully paid for a wardrobe from IKEA Groningen, including delivery to the first floor and assembly.

What followed has been over two months of delays, contradictions and avoidance of responsibility.

Facts:
– The transport company refused to deliver to the first floor, despite this service being paid for.
– IKEA later acknowledged an internal transport error.
– The second delivery was incomplete (missing essential parts), making the wardrobe unusable.
– Assembly was never completed; parts remain uninstalled.
– I formally terminated the contract due to breach of contract.

Since then, IKEA has:
– Passed my case between 20 different customer service agents.
– Provided contradictory explanations.
– Repeatedly promised “escalation” and “updates” without action.
– Ultimately refused to refund, while claiming the case is “closed”.

I am not asking for goodwill I am asking for what the law requires:
a refund for a product that was never delivered or usable as agreed.

This experience shows a complete lack of ownership, accountability and customer respect.
If this is how IKEA handles clear failures, customers should be aware before ordering.

A full overview of the correspondence (20 IKEA employees over two months) is documented and available upon request.

Ordering from IKEA has been an absolute…

Ordering from IKEA has been an absolute nightmare. I ordered 2 desks and selected a delivery date. When the items arrived, 1 desk was missing. I called Ikea customer services several times and was told one “may” arrive at some point? I asked to get written email confirmation of this and I was told they aren’t allowed to email customers. I then headed to twitter where someone helped me reschedule a delivery, for 3 days later. The next day, the desk arrived, they left the desk outside and didn’t ring the doorbell. No call, no email, no text! Just left it there! Finally I had the desk. The NEXT day, ANOTHER desk arrived!! Which I was advised by Ikea to refuse, as I now had the two desks I ordered. I’ve had the flu, so it took me a couple of days before I got round to unpacking the desk to build it and to my unfortunate surprise the desk is the wrong colour. I ordered the dark coloured desk and I’ve received a light / cream / greyish desk. I’m just so unbelievably fed up. I can’t quite get my head around how a company as established as Ikea can mess up this many times.

I’m so disappointed. Ikea is meant to be easy, simple and helpful. My experience has been nothing of the sort. I will not be ordering from ikea again.

Terrible experience - never using IKEA again!

An experience so bad I ended up taking notes so that I could make a formal complaint...

Tuesday 18th Nov, order was delivered damaged at 8.54am. Damage was a puncture through the cardboard packaging and through one of the shelves of the Kallax unit.
The delivery driver told me that he’d been unable to contact me prior to delivery, and when he showed me the phone number he’d rung it was the number of my previous address in Cambridgeshire from four years earlier. This number does not appear in my User Profile settings and I am unable to change it. I rang IKEA and reported the damaged parts and that they’d used an old phone number that I wasn’t able to edit online. Replacement part was scheduled for 19th Nov. Return of broken part scheduled for 25th Nov.

Monday 19th Nov, replacement parts delivered 11.34am. No call from drivers - they’d again been given the old landline number. I was very surprised that the delivery drivers weren’t also tasked with picking up the packages that need to be returned, but IKEA clearly think that sending out another van on a separate occasion is a better way to handle this situation.

Nov 25th IKEA failed to arrive. Once again they’d been given the wrong phone number. I rang IKEA, reported the wrong phone number problem (this was the third time I’d notified IKEA of this problem) and collection was re-scheduled for Thursday 4th Dec.

Dec 4th: IKEA texted me (so they are actually capable of using my mobile number!) to say that collection would NOT take place (“:due to unforeseen circumstances”) and that I have to ring IKEA to reschedule the collection. I rang and re-scheduled the collection for 12th Dec, and this time I requested compensation due to the repeated failure of IKEA to provide adequate customer service for this order.
Got email from IKEA Customer Services asking me for more details why I wanted a refund. I replied to the email and it bounced back as a bad address. I rang customer services (the 4th time so far) and explained all this and the lady has issued me a voucher to spend at IKEA.

Dec 12th: awaiting collection of the returned items for the third time.
Rang IKEA on 11th, they said the delivery slot would be between 14.45 and 18.45.
9.20am on 12th still no written message from IKEA to confirm the delivery time, so I’m wondering if they’ve been given the wrong phone number again. I rang IKEA helpline and the guy confirmed that they now only hold my mobile number on record. He did say that he didn’t know what the delivery slot was, which contradicted the info given to me by the lady yesterday. He said that the driver would contact me about 45 mins before collection.
12.50… collection team arrived to collect, but hadn’t rung me in advance… they’d been given the wrong number again.

End of saga… and the last time I buy anything from IKEA!!!

Terrible experience with IKEA

Terrible service from IKEA. I placed my order on November 21st, with delivery of the bed and other furniture scheduled for December 4th, split into two separate deliveries (??? why???). After waiting around for half a day, the driver called to say he’d broken down the van — the other delivery arrived normally.

The delivery was RESCHEDULED for December 23rd, with furniture assembly set for December 27th, but they told us not to worry: “just call IKEA and the delivery will DEFINITELY be brought forward.”
I called IKEA the same day, but they told me it was too early and to call the next day. Since then I’ve called IKEA every single day, always getting the same answer: call again tomorrow. Hours spent on hold, being strung along day after day.A company like this cannot survive with such a unefficient service of delivery and such a poor customer service

Avoid Ikea delivery …

Tried the online and delivery path Very slow in responding Delivery date given with threat to leave at door if not home Stayed in all day No delivery No update Frustrating attempt to get information about reason for no delivery AI bot was programmed to avoid giving any information Responses were not related to my enquiry Seems Ikea wants you in store where they can run you through the ‘rat race’ to sell extra
