Disappointed - but light after all

Hi all, I too had been a loyal customer for a number of years, and was heart broken to hear of the liquidation, especially as I was about to order further plank items.

I have been very fortunate to find a gentleman called Kevin, who runs the Old Forge, near me in Ringmer. He has pulled out all the stops, and is making a plank desk and pair of bookcases for me - to exactly the same specification.

This could be worth a look if you too have been caught short!

After finding out indigo had shut

After finding out indigo had shut it left me in a bit of a dilemma as I wanted to purchase more plank furniture to match. as luck would have it a friend of a friend had purchased some plank furniture from a company in Arnold called hall pine so I gave them a shout the furniture looks almost the same I can’t wait until I can take delivery of my new stuff

Disappointed at directors’ decision to liquidate

Really disappointed to see this company go into liquidation. The staff were always helpful and friendly and the furniture was of high quality and design so why run this well regarded company into the ground to focus on Castle & Gregory, which is just flea market style furniture with hefty price tags.

I see Indigo have deleted a lot of the negative reviews, which seems a bit pointless seeing as they don’t exist anymore...unless they’re going to set up a new business from the holding company...

After years of buying Indigo Furniture…

After years of buying Indigo Furniture i can not express how sad i am to to see such a fantastic company go down hill so quickly! Me and my wife have spent thousands of pounds furnishing our house with there lovely furniture and i thought how can we finish our other rooms when we gratefully come across a a kind young gentleman on Ebay called Gaz! He made all there pine/plank ranges for years and his prices are out of this world! If he as not got it in stock he will make it and even deliver it for a small charge!

Let down by Indigo but found alternative supplier!

I am in a similar situation to other people, I saved up for ages to buy some of their roughsawn plank range furniture and got let down massively. Fortunately by chance I found a company in Nottingham, Hall of Pine and Kitchens who make virtually the same stuff even the same wood and for half the price of what I had ordered at indigo! They even managed to get it to me during lockdown!
So glad I didn’t order more from Indigo!

My partner and i ordered bedroom…

My partner and i ordered bedroom furniture which never arrived !
Absolutely gutted! After saving up for so long!
But by chance we found another company in nottingham hall pine and kitchens who make virtually the same furniture even out of the same roughsawn wood !
after explaining our situation they pulled out all the stops and even managed to get the furniture delivered to us!and it cost half the price of what we were charged at indigo after being a big fan of indigo for years it looks like the company was a smoke and mirrors kind of operation!
Just hope there is somekind of justice at the end of this !

DO NOT BUY FROM CASTLE&GREGORY!!!!!

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!
Couple of crooks running this company on the stolen wages of staff and customers orders from the other company they had before. Do not purchase from their other company Castle & Gregory!!!!!!! Both of you directors belong in prison.

please shop with caution in future

A little update following the review mentioning Castle&gregory....it would appear this company is registered at companies house and it’s no surprise that the names of the directors are in fact those of the directors of the now defunct Indigo Furniture. This company (castle&gregory) was set up in 2016 and according to the website launched in Autumn 2017. These two men obviously make it their practice to set up multiple companies and clearly from what has happened to Indigo have no scruples when it comes to winding up their business and leaving their customers and employees in the lurch and out of pocket. They have left disappointment misery and debt in their wake but they obviously don’t care as they have other companies still trading and putting money in their own pockets. People need to be aware that these people are not what they appear to be and to do as another reviewer suggested and ensure they do a little homework when purchasing furniture to make sure these two men are not involved as they clearly cannot be trusted.

Former very upset employee

My heart goes out to the lovely customers and my kind, caring, honest co-workers who believed in the Indigo ethos just as I did.
Words fail at how upset I am and how some people are allowed to get away with causing so much misery.
I just advise anyone buying furniture in the future to check the names of the directors of the company!

Crooks

Unfortunately my wife and I are in a similar situation to most others on here, being absolutely shafted by this bunch of crooks.
We travelled from Dorset to the Tunbridge Wells store on 13th March and happily handed over the full balance of £5,200 for some furniture to complete our house renovation project. The company had been recommended to us and we were impressed by the service and quality on offer
Delivery was confirmed on 8th or 9th April and when we received no further news I called the Head Office who confirmed that the factory was not manufacturing due to the current Covid-19 situation. All deliveries were delayed and I was reassured that there were no problems whatsoever.
Unfortunately, earlier today I received correspondence confirming that Indigo Furniture Ltd has ceased trading and the likelihood of any refund was nil.
How did this company which had a net worth of over £1 million 12 months ago get into this state and it certainly appears that the current situation is merely an excuse for the owners to cash in and continue trading with their newly formed companies.
Indigo Furniture shares have actually been transferred to Natural Wood Furniture Ltd and we were never made aware of this. This means that our order was placed with a company that did not exist!!
Should any of the owners have the balls to respond it would be very much appreciated!

DO NOT BUY!

DO NOT BUY! on their website it appears to still (today 30/04/2020) be accepting new orders but has gone into liquidation! Purchased bed 15th March paid £1240 delivery due 30/03/2020 delayed we were told due to lockdown. Spoke to manager of customer services who said the company was in a good financial position - what lies! Had a letter from insolvency practitioner today debts over 1 million and only 70k assets! Do not appear to have utilised job retention scheme for employees (or if they have they have took the money) I think the Directors have utilised this pandemic as an opportunity for their own gain! Directors have recently set up two other companies one being “natural wood furniture company limited” and “Sawn Oak Ltd” and transferred all shares from indigo into Natural Wood Furniture Ltd. They had this planned for months. If the directors have any moral compass they would pay their customers back / offer similar product from their other businesses and pay the staff the wages they were due. They have taken hard earned money and ran. The directors have reported all negative reviews on trust pilot in an apparent cover up and so I am now not able to include the directors names. However the directors names are public information as they were a Ltd company. Please search indigo furniture in companies house for their details. Their other companies include Castle & Gregory and a timber merchants in Latvia! To the directors Karma is a wonderful thing I hope you get what you deserve!

ZERO STARS

ZERO STARS. This is a modified review. My first was challenged by Indigo furniture as it contained defamatory statements. Trust pilot asked me to rewrite it. After what they have done I think this is a joke but I have cooperated. I ordered and had set up delivery for nearly £2000 of furniture. The delivery did not happen and I heard absolutely nothing. I thought we can discuss this and sort it out. No chance. They had no intention of contacting me and never did. There is no excuse for taking thousands of pounds of customer money and not supplying goods. The very least one would expect is a refund. It is shocking what they have done. No regard for the customer what so ever. No e mails, no answer to e mails. No telephone contact just a nonsense message about the fact you will be contacted and of course you were not contacted. They had every intention of keeping your money and zero intention of giving it back. I can only hope that justice will be served on these people who clearly only care about their own skins and show no regard for this customer's feelings or personal circumstances.

Unfortunately no option for no stars..

Unfortunately no option for no stars... This company, along with many I'm sure, have hidden under the guise of Covid -19 to basically save their skin to the detriment of SO MANY others. Many staff left in financial crisis, customers left with no goods, which they paid hard earned money for - causing much distress and anxiety. Disgusting, immoral and greedy. They set up a new company in mid March - SAWN OAK LTD AND another, NATURAL WOOD FURNITURE LTD, late last year according to Companies House 🤔🤔. So, not only callous but calculated too. Shame on you Indigo Director Owners and all other companies that take the easy way out. No sign of any financial difficulty the week before lock down? But hey... you're alright so screw everyone else! Hope you sleep at night - whilst your team and customers lie awake worrying, in an already incredibly frightening and uncertain period of time. When this is over business as usual presumably for you but what do they have?? Really... what do they have? Cowards.

Currently in LIQUIDATION

As a former employee of Indigo Furniture of 15 years I do not want this to come across as just being a bitter review. Instead, a way of informing past customers, or potential new customers that Indigo Furniture is not what it seemed, and if you have visited one of our 3 opulent showrooms, where there are exquisite gleaming chandeliers hanging from the ceilings, you probably thought money seemed no object, so did we. In light of this, our Directors had previously set up 2 other companies, you can see them on companies house, Sawn Oak Ltd, and Natural Wood Furniture Ltd, this was all a big plan, they have not paid suppliers, and all of their staff, we were told on the 31st March at 5pm that we would not be getting paid, one day before everyones direct debits would most likely be going out of everyones bank accounts.

The really sad thing here is that they have used a killer virus COVID-19 to hide behind and use it to their advantage. Absolutely and utterly shameful, I feel sorry for all our customers, including Doctors, nurses, care staff that have saved all their hard earn money and have now lost it.

Please take your money elsewhere.

Stay Away

As a former employee of Indigo Furniture, I am writing this review in the hope that past and current customers will be aware of what has happened. We were told that Indigo Furniture went into liquidation on the 31st of March, no staff were aware that the company was in trouble as we had a good sale period in February and March along with a very lucrative warehouse sale that made them an additional £40,000. No staff were paid their well earned wages for the March period and more than 30 of us have been left in horrendous circumstance during this already difficult time. What is interesting that our directors had already set up and registered 2 new company names, NATURAL WOOD FURNITURE LTD and SAWN OAK LTD so I urge you to stay well away from these companies and I can only hope that those waiting for a delivery will be able to take action against them through their new company. Spineless and Cowardly are the only words to describe them.
