Cancelled My Trip, No Refund Yet!

I purchased a ticket from Itabus for a trip on 13-09-2025, which was cancelled due to technical issues and rescheduled to the following day without my consent. I had no accommodation in Genoa, which is not my responsibility, and I had to buy a new ticket from another company for almost double price. (Because Itabus company forced me to find a ticket on the last day.)

Reaching their customer service was very difficult, and when I did, they gave me unhelpful responses, basically saying I could either accept the rescheduled trip or wait for a refund, which could take one month.

This company does not take responsibility, causes unnecessary financial loss, and creates serious inconvenience. I strongly do not recommend purchasing tickets from Itabus—you risk last-minute cancellations and being forced to pay much higher prices elsewhere.

Stop didn't match the one indicated on the ticket.

The bus left from a different platform than what was shown on our tickets, as clearly visible through the GPS tracking. No agent came to inform passengers at the official platform about the bus departure from a different stop. When asking for a refund, the company only gave vague responses about the bus "correct" departure, failing twice to provide any proof. If you can choose, I'd recommend other operators.
Oh, the bus was also late by the way.

Scammers

Scammers! Do not use Itabus!
We booked a ticket and the money was taken immediately. Then we received a message that the bus would not run, and they rescheduled the trip to the next day without our consent. They do not answer calls, and operators immediately hang up. We sent complaints — the money has not been refunded.
These are outright scammers!

bad or no customer service

Disinformation and afterwards bad or no customer service. Not helpful. Reply only in Italian even though I wrote in English. I do not recommend and finally we had to get by train to our destination.

Do Not Use!!

They seem to have a well branded website, semi decent mobile app, you would think they were some big Bus Service, but they are really horrible to work with. Their bus tracker was broken every time we tried to use it. First time using it, they barely stuck around, they literally stop for 1 min, they don't stop and check that anybody on board or bother to wait a few minutes if anybody missing. Even when we were at a rest stop, they were getting ready to just leave someone their mid journey. (Apparently if you read another recent review, they literally did the exact thing to another person, so this is a continuous problem!!) The second time we used them; they just canceled the bus. It wasn't till last minute we notice there was an email saying it was canceled, but nowhere on the mobile app did it say the bus was canceled or never coming. then every time we ask another Itabus bus that arrived at the spot, the drivers would just assure us its coming, don't panic, and not actually check, when in fact our Bus was never coming. So they just expect you to sit there hours on end hoping it will come. Drivers have zero interest in being helpful and based on many of the reviews just come off angrily or unwilling to help. Trying to get a refund on one trip, they refuse to do it for the other trip. Defiantly do not use this service. Based on how many 1 star reviews this has, I'm surprised they are still around! Also, on top of that, there bus stops locations, have zero ticketing station, zero people to help you, you just have their generally unhelpful driver, who only focused on scanning tickets and getting the bus moving. So if you have any Language barriers or not tech Savey enough to follow there half working app, then this service is not for you! Unless you're a local maybe it works better for you. Their mobile app also needs an English update!!.

Absolutely terrible

Absolutely terrible. They do good marketing and you would expect a great experience based on their website. Our bus was cancelled and there was no way to track where it was or its status. Customer service never picked up despite calling several times. We received a cancellation email TWO HOURS after the scheduled departure time. Never again. We missed our train connection and had to take a Flixbus instead, which ironically I tried to avoid and they saved our trip.

No customer service and late busses

They didnt register my applied discount. The discount was from a cancelled journey. When I wrote to them they didn’t help with anything other than giving me standardized answer. Now they just stopped answering me. Don’t bother ordering with them.
Also the bus was delayed and the tracking on their website was totally wrong.

This is a shitty bus company

This is a shitty bus company. Don't buy tickets from Itabus. When you select tickets, OMIO offers a class upgrade for extra leg room on the top of the bus, with food available, but you ended getting a seat in the lower level that is reclined forever because is damaged. The driver don't know anything about it like they don't care. CLASS UPGRADE MY ASS.

Never

If you are used to FlixBus, stay with them. Will never use Itabus again !!!!!

We bought 4 tickets from Napoli to Rome. 2 hours before departure, we got notification that our bus was delayed with a link to track our bus. No ETA. We got to the station on time because we wanted to avoid any unnecessary stress. I kept refreshing my app, tracking the bus, we physically went to check every Itabus that was at the station looking for our bus number, nothing. I finally went to ask an Itabus driver who told me that my bus was coming later. After that, there was no other Itabus around. 1 hour later, we asked other passengers if there was an office around and went to talk to an agent who told us that the bus had left!!! Plus, he said that the only option was to book other tickets and charged twice the amount that I previously paid.

Anyway, book with them at your own risk.

The worst experience of my life-left in the middle of the highway

Traveling from Bari to Rome, we stopped for a break at a gas station. The driver told everyone in Italian how much time we would spend on the break. We do not speak Italian.
My friend and I went to the bathroom and to get a cup of coffee. When we came outside, the bus was leaving without us. We are tourists and all of our stuff, including our passports, money, and things were on that bus. We started running after the bus, but the driver did not stop. The bus left without us.
A random person stopped with his car and picked us up, offering to chase the bus down. When we caught up with the bus, the bus driver initially refused to stop the bus yelling while driving that he told us how long the break is.
We yelled while driving next to the bus that we are his passengers and that all of our stuff is on the bus. He barely stopped the bus and let us on.
When we entered the bus, he said angrily that he told everyone how long the break is, not even apologizing that he left without us.
I called their customer support, waited for over 20 minutes for someone to pick up, finally, someone picked up, barely speaking English.
I told him what happened, he said first that he didn’t understand then I explained to him again and he said that if I am on the bus now that he doesn’t see an issue. Worst customer support ever-completely useless.
Worst possible experience ever. I would rather pay twice as much to a different company than traveling with this shit show.

Absolutely Terrible Experience Avoid ITA Bus at All Cost!

I was travelling from Milano to Torino and I had one of the worst travel experiences of my life with ITA Bus. Our bus broke down in the middle of the highway, and instead of sending a replacement bus, they decided to send a single technician who took forever to even show up, let alone fix the issue. We were stuck there for over 3 hours, stranded on the side of the road, and it was getting dangerously late almost midnight.

There was zero communication, no proper customer service, and absolutely no sense of urgency or responsibility. Passengers were left frustrated, tired, and anxious, with no idea when we’d be moving again. This is completely unacceptable for a transportation company.

If you value your time, safety, and sanity do NOT travel with ITA Bus. They are unreliable, unprofessional, and clearly unprepared for emergencies. Never again.

If I could give zero stars, I Would.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This was an absolute disaster. The staff were completely useless not just unhelpful, but borderline incompetent. We were charged for four tickets and only received one. When we contacted support, they refused to send the missing tickets and only offered a partial refund, still charging us for the one ticket they did send which somehow cost double what it should have.

To make things worse, their website keeps flipping between showing no seats available, and glitching midway through the booking process, conveniently charging more every time you select a ticket. It’s beyond frustrating, it's a total scam. Do not book through their website. Save yourself the trouble and go literally anywhere else.

Bad bus company in Italy

we have bought a bus trip via their website from Genova to Pisa today 7 July 2025 at 11.31. we have been waiting at the bus stop for more than 61 minutes (the time is now 12.32) and the bus has not arrived. I called your customer service 3 times and now it just hangs up. We tried to track down thier bus (bus 1803) on thier website and it doesn't work either. In the end when the bus came the bus driver didnot said sorry or explained why the delay. And he drive very bad too. It's really bad of bus company.
