I had a great experience at the workshop. The topic was about housing in Berlin and I could get many tips of how to find my home. It was also good because of the clear explanation of the Advisor Nites... See more

I had a very good session with Kathrin my study coach. This really helped in taking the required steps for my classes; Thank you

Jannis was very patient and guided me through all the questions I had. He also gave pointers on how to organize my studies, continue studying and what my thesis will need

The experience was so great and impressive. Calendly's approach was not only inspiring but also counseling. Can't wait to schedule another meeting whenever I feel lost or need clarity in the course of my study journey.

The study guide is really helpful and empathetic. she understands all the concerns of students and does her best to try and address each and every query. nothing but good words about them.

I studied MBA 90 (Data Science and Big Data Management) at IUBH. My experience with the university is not good at all.
First, there is no one to guide you with your studies! The so-called study guides don’t have any information — some of them are rude and always look confused! They just share some email IDs to ask queries — that’s it.
Courses and subjects are mostly theoretical! Some of the content is outdated! Exams are a nightmare! They failed students multiple times — I guess just to delay their studies so that they can charge extra (600–800 Euros per month) to complete the degree. Against that, there is no guidance or help! I finished all my exams and assignments, and also submitted my thesis on time — but my viva was not completed, and for that, they charged me 650 Euros! Seriously? Is it fair to charge such money?
The worst part is the lecturers and professors! Some of the lecturers teach subjects without having any knowledge, and the professors are in another zone — mostly, they don't reply to your queries. Yes, a few professors are very helpful, including my guide and a couple of others, but most of them are useless! They don’t even know how to communicate or teach students!
IU sees education like a business. They really need to work on the management side and listen to students! I did complain — it's been more than a year and the university still hasn’t taken any action! I don’t know what the management is doing!
Few good things:
Some professors are very helpful. They have good knowledge and try to help with the subject matter. Assignments and projects are useful and give some practical exposure — but most students don’t take them seriously. Campus facilities are good — but there is NO library! I’ve seen a university for the first time that only offers an online library — really?
A few of the courses are well-structured and have good content. Their IU Study app is nice, and the AI integration with Synthia is also good. But their MyCampus site and online exam portal are the worst I’ve ever seen.
There are very few good things about this university. I hope they will improve the quality of education and work on it seriously — and most importantly, listen to students. Don’t go for money and charge extra fees unnecessarily!
In the end, this kind of experience works as negative word-of-mouth marketing. I would never suggest anyone join this university — unless and until they fix the problems mentioned above.

Very disappointing experience with IU International University.
I enrolled in the Computer Science program but due to serious personal and financial difficulties, I was unable to continue. Despite not participating in the course or using any materials meaningfully, the university still demanded full payment, showing zero flexibility or empathy—even when I explained my situation and asked for a waiver or payment plan.
The communication was cold and rigid, and instead of working toward a fair resolution, they escalated the matter to a debt collection agency. For a university that claims to support international students, I expected more understanding and care.
If you are unsure about your circumstances or might face challenges later, please think twice before enrolling. There is very little support once you’ve signed the contract.

Leonie is amazing. I mean, she is very, very calm, a good listener, and she advises me as if I were her son. She's phenomenal! She is a kind person you would enjoy talking to about your personal, family, or other challenges because she offers great solutions. The 25 minutes with her relieved me of the fear in my mind. Thanks, Leonie.

They don't respond me. So, I will put here the email I send.
To inform all of you: They don't inform the students about how many exams we need to make from cambridge. Omit information is illegal. Is 12 exams. Sorry for any mistakes but my matern language is portuguese. According to the law, I and you can ask to annul the contract, not cancel. This give us the right to not pay what is in the contract.
-------------------
The contract omits information regarding the Cambridge exams. According to German law and Portuguese law, such situation is illegal, so it gives me the right to open legal action against your institution. I have the right to not fulfill the contract. As I missed a school year and lost the money I paid in tuition fees, I have the right, to ask for compensation for moral and financial damages.
Portuguese Civil Code:
Article 227: This article addresses the principle of good faith in pre-contractual negotiations, which includes the duty to disclose relevant information.
Article 762: This article outlines the general obligations of parties in a contract, including the duty to act in good faith and disclose necessary information.
German Civil Code (Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch - BGB):
Section 123: This section deals with fraudulent misrepresentation, which includes the omission of material information.
Section 242: This section addresses the principle of good faith, which encompasses the duty to disclose relevant information in contractual relationships.
I have a question for you: at what point in the contract, is it referred in detail, the process that students have to go through in order to complete the Cambridge exams? (Because I can't find it anywhere). I am waiting for an answer from you where this is written. And it is unnecessary for you to come and say that it is with Cambridge that I have to resolve this situation because the contract I signed is with you, not with them. You are the one who has the responsibility, according to the law of both countries, to inform students about all the details regarding the degree and exams that are necessary. I repeat, such an omission of this information is illegal.
I want to file a complaint about the institution. Send me a link or let me know where I can make such a complaint. I will check if the complaint I make is really on a trusted site or link and in accordance with the law.
SO IU, DO YOU WILL RESOLVE MY PROBLEM?

Do not ever apply for this school. I have gone through the headache of being repeatedly asked to send in papers before I could get fully enrolled. In every case it was only after I went after them emailing and calling. I asked many times for a list of which papers were missing and even then they would send me piece meal emails saying one paper then another. I signed up in May and only got officially enrolled at the end of January. In all that time I could not submit anything. Therefore not providing the full service and education I had been paying for. Now I am fighting for my rights for a fee reduction or refund. It is extremely frustrating to see a big institution like IU taking thinking simply of their finances and not their paying students.
Sadly every response has been a robotic one where each worker states they "Cannot do anything" about fee changes, although stating they all have the same authority in decision making. Some policy also prohibits managers from speaking to students. In any case them saying the "Cannot" really means they "don't want to".
FYI if anyone would like to fight on consumer and legal terms here are some consumer rights laws you can look into:
Verwaltungsverfahrensgesetz (VwVfG)
Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch (BGB)
§ 326 Befreiung von der Gegenleistung und Rücktritt beim Ausschluss der Leistungspflicht
ZFU (Staatliche Zentralstelle für Fernunterricht)
Hope this helps anyone else who is frustrated with the administration and how this school treats its students.

The course Books are very comprehensive and stright to the point. also the way teachers and professors arrange the classes, the slides, the course feed, and responding to students' queries are highly appreciated. all materials are available in the system, the learning videos. i really like the video gallery and watch them and review the course books at the same time. it helps me to understand better the units and topics. I am happy that I have selected IU. i really feel that I am studying, i really enjoy the learning journey, however my module is full time and at the same time i have full time job but i enjoy the books and materials. i enjoy the online exams and questions, i hope that i attend some paper-based exams too on campus and see IU and students in person one day.

Being able to study at a prestigious university from abroad and on my own schedule is a huge plus. Feedback from tutors and admin is always quick and helpful. Everything is well-organized and efficient, which really sets them apart!

I love how much a person can build their life around the IU schedule. A lot of my friends need to be studying in universities that allow them to be flexible and that is my favourite thing about IU

I am enjoying my studies at IU. The teachers are kind and when I need help the student office answers on time .

IU makes learning the easiest it can be, I am doing my degree programme online, and they allow me to learn in my own pace, however whenever I have a question, I can always ask my professors, either in writing or face-to-face, considering the subject at hand. The coursebooks are easy to understand and live sessions and learning sprints are frequent and perfectly fit my schedule.
