Using IXL feels like talking to a passive aggressive teacher who mocks you when you get a question wrong. Making mistakes is part of learning, but IXL makes it sound like if you get a question wrong,... See more

I feel like a lot of people are being harsh about IXL
I feel like a lot of people are being very harsh about IXL it is really not that bad, and the reviews are mostly from minors, I being a minor do not find this very bad and the rest of the reviews are just kids who want to grow stupid.
I sucks more than my teacher.
it. so sucks like It shows 10:30 so I wrote 10:30 and then it says wrong and then it says the answer is 10:30!! Bro it so sucks bro.
False advertisements!
No, i'm not writing the this review on the mechanics (Which are AI) but the ads! Both video and banner. I probably did this in elementary school, but we never used it.
VIDEO ADS:
IXL claims that it makes screen time "Fun" when in reality it is just a site where it feels like monkeys wrote the code for it. I really think it's a mental endurance test. They also claim that "When your class sees your IXL prizes, they would be begging for one." Like, who thinks they want to spend 50 hours on a skill just for a stupid PFP option?
BANNER ADS:
They falsely advertise that they have "good" reviews, when in reality everyone hates it, mainly because of the "Smart" score that isn't SMART at all.
absolute garbage for schools
absolute garbage for schools
it is depressing to see kids using this app
all i can say is it is bull shite cancel it NOW
IXL = stepping on LEGO
IXL is the psychological equivalent of stepping on a LEGO for three hours straight.
It markets itself as a “personalized learning experience,” but what it really teaches is how to lose hope in 0.2 seconds. One tiny mistake? Say goodbye to 20 smart score points and your remaining will to live. The “Smart Score” isn’t smart, it’s emotional blackmail with numbers.
schools 👏 please 👏 stop 👏 using 👏 ixl 👏 it’s 👏 not 👏 education 👏 it’s 👏 digital 👏 punishment 👏
IXL’s idea of motivation is making you redo 40 questions because you sneezed mid-answer. The explanations are vague, the grading is inconsistent, and the only thing it improves is your ability to rage silently at a Chromebook.
IXL doesn’t build character, it erodes it. If Dante wrote The Inferno today, there would be a circle of hell called “IXL English and Maths Practice.”
This company is trash it is so life…
This company is trash it is so life draining it takes your memory and all of it makes you mentally unstable my child Larry after spending 30 Mila seconds on IXL he Burnt my house down.
dont even try this app
their slogan is a lie it says practice that feels like play but its more like practice that feels like torture
Great for learning!
This app is amazing! As a wonderful participant in the math community, it is a perfect chance for students to hone their math skills, and everyone loves it! Keep up the great work!
This site sucks
This is the worst homework my daughter ever gets. She has used it since 4th grade and hated every second. The goal is to hit 100 percent but its practily impossible. The correct answers are worth two points but the wrong answers are worth seven negative points.
Do not even use this!
My dad made me and my other siblings use it. Gotta say it is completely awful. The questions are repetitive sometimes and it is mostly made to destroy your mentality instead of actually helping your academics. I saw no improvement in my academics when I used IXL. In fact, nothing really happened to it at all. When you get a question wrong this trauma inducing “Sorry Incorrect” shows up. Can’t they use something more positive like “Let’s check your answer again.” The explanation is also vague, it does not point out why you made the mistake. For the Science and Social Studies ones, it is highly ineffective and even more trauma inducing than the Math and ELA ones because you either need a streak or a certain number of questions to move on to the next stage, which made me scream for every one that needed a streak. The time elapsed system is very unnecessary, why on earth are you keeping track of how long it takes for us to one single skill? Yeah for awards, but still it is unnecessary. The Smartscore system is what is the most traumatizing for every kid. It goes up for a correct answer slowly, but it crashes deeply for every incorrect answer. Imagine being 1 away from 100 and getting the final question wrong so you drop to like a 90. Unless you don’t care about your mental health, don’t use IXL.
HELL
It is horrible, IXL is the reason my son hates learning it puts pressure on you for no reason and if you get it wrong it reduces your score makes horrible explanations. It is the meaning of hell and should never be used. HORRIBLE, STRESSFUL AND OVERPRICED.
I hated it every time i get a question…
I hate it because it does not teach you. It give question and that it. WASTE of money.
I don't like it presures me to much and…
I don't like it presures me to much and when i got the answer wrong they give explanations but they make it long and it i get wrong my score get keep going doing now i have anxiety thank you IXL worest learning appp eveeeeeerrr
IXL is a terrible app
IXL is a terrible app, as I have used it for countless years, and suffered because of it up to this day. IXL doesn’t even teach you, it only gives 1 chance to answer a question and that’s it, it won’t accept multiple answers and only accepts one. One correct question also only adds 1-2 points while an incorrect answer deducts 8-10 points. IXL doesn’t help you learn, it makes you break your monitor from it. It also requires a subscription in order to use it. What a scam for a piece of trash like this!
this website SUCKS
this website SUCKS! And the fact you have to pay for it makes it even worse, IXL is bad for children and is DEPRESSING
this program is like making i very dumb…
this program is like making i very dumb if i wrong one this program give me too much -score but if i get correct answer i just have 30% of my wrong score wtf ixl is very miserly
I love this program
I love this program . My daughter is five and already at half way through grade one . I love the scoring system and when she sees it hit a hundred she is so excited. Yes it does make you go back more if you get it wrong but this teaches your child to pay attention better and makes her do more questions so you know she is really understanding the lesson. Best thing I have paid for online .
Bad and sill
It's horrible with a bad background and a stupid smart Score that increase the amount of points you moved down and decreases the amount of points you move up
Frustrating and Discouraging
Talk about crushing a child's love of learning. My daughter spent a lifetime chasing her own tail, getting pushed back so far each time she got a question wrong, the frustration and disappointment in her face was awful. No other platform we've used has done this, it's just brutal. Permentnatly deleting her account as of this morning!!
