This 2025 Advent Calendar Christmas…
This 2025 Advent Calendar Christmas Village is by far the best one yet!!!!
Fantastic!!!
The exquisite detail right down to what is in the windows of each building and the cars driving by, the nature and animals..
ALL is superb! Love it!
Thank you! And a very Merry Christmas to you all.
Gratefully,
Allessandra Millar
JL Advent Calendar 2025 Disappointing
So disappointed with this year’s advent calendar. Been a JL member for many years and always look forward to their Christmas calendar. Sadly, not this year… so much smaller and lacks imagination that was present in earlier years. Way too many games and nothing to explore in the tiny village. Will not bother buying next year.
Cannot get understandable help when stops working
I cannot get calender to fully download anymore. They now say they have no record of download. But it opened fine when I first downloaded and activated. Now all they want is for me to buy another one. I have always enjoyed the calenders in the past, but will not ever buy anything from them again.
Advent Calendar no longer unique
We’ve had their Advent Calendars for over ten years, but they’ve now become samey. No longer well researched versions of real and imaginary towns. This year is just a pretty little village that grows each day, rather than a living breathing village that opens up each day. It’s simply not what it was. They used to be so good; I thought they would just keep innovating. Instead, they’ve rested on their lorrals and stagnated.
Can't access Advent Calendar
This year, I gave my wife a Jacquie Lawson (JL) Advent calendar, as I have done in the past. It used to require a simple click on a link, enter an activation code - job done, no problems. Ever since JL was taken over, I think by an American outfit, the experience has gone to pot. My wife has just spent some 45 minutes struggling to access the calendar, which now requires a combination of email, password, captcha, activation code and still refuses to work, taking the user in circles of frustration. Customer service? Nope. I will no longer be using JL for their once wonderful Advent Calendar - it is now simply a source of frustration. Avoid!
This used to be glorious
This used to be glorious! Christmas was coming and time for magical J L calendar..
not any more..
this year we tried one more time! And still… we can’t log on! Ever since they were taken over/ sold to an ? American company… I dont know…
It is sad. In this hectic world it was a bit of escapism …
I’ve been trying for over 3/4 hours.. to get the thing going.
Hopeless! And you can’t contact anyone it seems.
Avoid.
Avoid.
Received as a gift but nightmare to use.
Used to be ok but too many hoops to clamber through now.
Access to website denied
I have a two year subscription which is about half used. I tried to login from my home in Cyprus to send Christmas cards to friends and family in the UK and across the world only discover that access to the website is "blocked in my region". An email to the help desk yielded no explanation or sympathy and just a comment that they didn't know when access would be restored and that I should "try again later". I'm sure I'll find a way around the blockage but I shouldn't have to. Pretty shabby really.
Failed to apply coupon
I signed up for a month long subscription because the website advertised a 50% discount on advent calendars with subscription. Failed to get a discount when I tried to purchase calendars. Email from support stated that the "discounts must be applied at the time of purchase" and they can't do anything about it at this time. Poor customer service and a complete waste of money.
A friend gave me an Advent Calendar for…
A friend gave me an Advent Calendar for 2025 and I never received a code to activate it. I have tried to contact them, but they have virtually no customer service. This is not the way to run a business, and I wouldn't recommend them.
Not as efficient as other ECard sites
Not as efficient as other ECard sites. Tried several times and cannot get card sent. Tried everything their
email notice says. Awful!
If I could give it NO STARS I would
If I could give it NO STARS I would! They are swindled me. Their website overcharged me $52.00 and this was 6 WEEKS AGO! They IGNORE! MY PLEASE FOR FAIR PLAY. My requests have gone UNADDRESSED! SHYSTERS THE LOT OF THEM! I will NOT ALLOW them to continue unchecked.
Card "thank you" from recipients are not returned to sender
Card "Thank you" note from recipients are not sent to the card sender. When I told (non)customer service, they said there was nothing they could do. Meanwhile, I had sent many cards for the holidays, and some recipients had included information I needed to act upon. Several family members told me they had returned a message to me. I had not received one return note. Good-bye Jacquie Lawson!
Unique, Magical and Meditative
This is the most beautiful digital card company I have ever used. I but the Advent Calendar for my family every year. The detail and artistic flair of the cards, little videos, games, etc are so much fun. I have been a customer for more than 10 years. My mother is British and the scenes and images keep me connected to my UK heritage.
"JL cards needs to move with the times, and modernise"
Although I like JL cards, its very old fashioned, and outdated now. The Cards certainly are.... and so are the Songs really.
Its like going back to the 1940's or 50's!....which is ok, up to a point, but the selection needs a "complete overhaul" and "modernisation", but keep some of the old scenes for the traditionists.
Why are they still using ONLY emails addreses to send cards? Not one of my friends use emails now to communicate, unless the are in business!
JL Cards never seem to communicate with people on here...just take the money...and that's it!
Jacquie Lawson no longer functioning.
I have been with Jacquie Lawson for many years. We were told she had died some years back and another company took over but it stayed similar so I stayed with them. Lately something has changed and the charge is much higher. I continued with it as I have quite a few who like the Advent Calendar. Now, when I try to access the site it just shows a blank page with Blocked! written in tiny letters in one corner. People are saying they also can't get access but the company still takes money from your bank. I also read a notice from J/L stating that she was alive and well. Has she reincarnated since her death? At one time I was told that she lived in the US but now they say it's English. I cannot speak to anyone or write them an email because there is no way in just many online complaining about similar situations. Is it possible that the company no longer exists and they just wanted one last round of payments before the final exit? Please help? Ive been trying for months.
Problems with ordering Advent Calendar
I have ordered Advent Calendars for years by using my address book to choose recipients in the same way I use it to purchase e-cards. However, I have been unable to do it for 2025. They just lost a big sale from me as I have lots of recipients.
Beware when trying to cancel a they still take money from your credit card
I signed up for a year and really enjoyed the novelty of the cute cards however exiting is really hard.
This is the 2nd time in a row I have tried to cancel my membership (this time with confirmation email from the company confirming my subscription was cancelled) they still took another $43AUD from my credit card and have not replied to my email requesting a refund. I'm hoping this is a computer error and I will receive a full refund soon. But if not my bank has told me it is fraud. So just beware. If I get the monies refunded I will update review positively but if I don't and have the inconvenience of having to cancel my credit card obviously I won't. Such a pity as I enjoyed sending cards for the first year I signed up.
PS I only found out today when got my bank statement that unauthorised monies were taken last month
As the recipient of these cards
As the recipient of these cards. I hate them. Just send a paper card or no card at all. The stupid card feels like an obligation to reciprocate.
