Never buy Kenwood again.
Fridge freezer utter rubbish Unreliable from day one. Would never buy anything by Kenwood again. Broken down completely a few weeks after guarantee ran out. Now on scrap heap. Couldn't write a review unless a star was given but I wouldn't rate other than minus10 stars.
Absolute shambles
Absolute shambles! Bought a KENWOOD KSBSDX19 American style frost free fridge freezer at over £500 quid from curry's . Had it. 13 months fan starts sounding like a plane taking off . Of course out of warranty had to pay to fix it got the old its a common problem with this make /model. If thats the case why do they get away with being able to sell the product . Legal scam i say ! Now it has frost build up all down the back in a frost free freezer . Stay well clear of curry's & get yourself an LG .. recently bought a new tv made sure i bought anywhere but curry's . Have a pleasant day 😁
DO NOT but Kenwood fridge freezers from Currys!
Bought an American style Kenwood fridge freezer from Currys. What a mistake. I expect more than 2 years from a fridge freezer that cost £500 The first time the fan started making a terrible racket it was under warranty. The repair guy said it's a common fault.
Here we are now 12 months later and two days ago back comes the noise.
Just looked inside and all the food has begun to defrost. Steaks, beef joints, seafood...the works. Just what you need two days before family are coming to stay!
How Currys are selling a product with a known fault is beyond belief. Hopefully Amazon will put them out of business.
Well done Curry's. I won't step foot inside your store again. ( Ironically I was going to check them out for a new laptop next week)
As the heading says Avoid Kenwood products and Currys
Appalling low quality of product.
The worst service i have ever had not…
The worst service i have ever had not had a dishwasher for 4 months now and it all started whilst it was in warranty and has gone one for that long the warranty has now run out and kenwood and the engineers don't seem to be bothered now stay away from kenwood.
-5 stars
-5 stars. Model KSBSX17 Delivered by Currys in Sep 18. It made funny gurgling noise always, but was advised that this is common with these. Then just out of warranty the fan in the freezer started making squeaking noise...now I have learnt that it is apparently the fan motor.
In contrast, I had LG fridge freezer since 2000, and the only reason that had to be replaced, due to kids pulling on the doors, causing the hinges to give way.
I have been a Currys customer since 1995, but I am not going to be buying anything from them again, and never this stupid make Kenwood from anywhere.
There is obviously a low quality issue with these appliances, so many reports of breakdowns are everywhere...I wonder, if contacting some consumer watch department, might address the situation, as a product such as this should not have faliures in such numbers. I will enquire with the Consumer Watch Dog or similar on Monday and see what they advise.
impossible to change the swing on the…
impossible to change the swing on the door manual just says swap the top hinge plate over, that doesnt work as it is inches out from the bottom hinge, and a left hand hinge plate is impossible to find
The quality of customer services tells you a lot about the quality of their product
Kenwood used to be such a well known quality product. Regretfully no more. Like many had a Kenwood chef for years, as did my mother, so when it came to new one, instead of being seduced by the more popular kitcheaid like most of my friends, I was faithful to 'British' Kenwood and bought the Kmix. What a total disaster. It could have been a great machine... but has a main and well documented design fault.. the PLASTIC ring at the bottom of the heavy glass bowl.. which breaks ..often. Now this is where Kenwood really falls down.. smart would be to say 'sorry' and pop a couple of spare in an envelope and whack them in the post..... No - we have to jump through all their hoops, including first proving when we bought it ( it has a five year warranty and I may be wrong, but I don't think the model with the glass bowl has even been on the market for five years, secondly, it is always out of stock ( so get more in!) Thirdly it takes about a month to reach us, meaning we either don't bake for a month or so - or we get one from Ebay or Amazon instantly for twenty quid, and finally when it is replaced, it only has a life expectancy of a couple of months, (depending of course on how often you use it). So round and round we go until we give in and buy a different bowl or a different machine!
The quality of customer services tells you a lot about the quality of their product.... and I sadly wont be buying Kenwood again.
KENWOOD KSBSX17 American-Style Fridge Freezer
Bought the KENWOOD KSBSX17 American-Style Fridge Freezer in September 2018. 20 months later and it’s started to get very loud in the freezer side. Obviously same fan issue as everyone else. It’s a disgrace a €500 fridge with a known defect can still be sold.
Really..81% bad reviews?
Really..81% bad reviews?? Same as the top rated B&Q also 81% (which I can actually understand).
One of my customer's let me have an old Kenwood microwave oven, which he didn't want to throw away, I never look a gift horse in the mouth, so was happy to accept. It lasted 5 years, before breaking down completely.
Purchased another Kenwood microwave from e-bay second-hand, 2 years ago, and guess wot? no issue's. Perhaps I'm just lucky?
American Fridge Freezer Stay Away
I've now had the panel on the fridge freezer break at least 4 times and everyone have had to replace it.
Apparently it can't stand weather above 21 degrees because as soon as it hits that temp outside the panel starts cycling and adjusting the temps inside the fridge and freezer which ends up destroying the food.
I'm now saving to buy another model (anything but Kenwood) as they have been useless with repairing and stopping this.
American Fridge Freezer STEER CLEAR
I bought a brand new American fridge freezer last August from curry's. It stopped working this wknd and all my food was ruined.. Luckily its within warranty. My uncle had same fridge freezer & same thing happened last year. Compressor and circuit board gone. I don't expect 2 of same model to break down in less than a year of us both buying it!!!
Combination Microwave
I bought a Combi Microwave when kitchen was redone because I changed my cooker to an induction one from a gas one and wanted something to fall back on if we had a problem with it. Our house flooded in February and the cooker is ruined. I wanted to bake a fruit cake and as it's cooked on a low heat, thought that it would be fine using the convection oven. It came out blacker than black, so I did some research and read that temperatures should be reduced by 25% (NOT mentioned in the manual). I tried again today, reduced the temperature accordingly, and it still burnt!! Angry doesn't cover it.
Nothing but problems and poor service
I purchased an American Fridge Freezer from Curry's in December 2018 and I can honestly say it is probably the worst choice I have ever made, both from and product and customer service point of view. We were renovating our house at the time and doing a kitchen extension so the item was only unpacked in June 2019. Towards the beginning of December 2019 I noticed the controls were sometimes not working. On 10th December I contacted Curry's to advise them that there was a problem with the control panel and they told me it was no longer under warranty. I had only received the item on 15th December 2018 (so less than 12 months previously) but apparently the warranty started from the date I ordered and paid and not from the date I received the item. I have still been unable to get the item repaired, (although they agreed to looked at it as part of my 'consumer rights') and now we have discovered that it has leaked at the back and damaged our new floor and the side panel of the new kitchen units. We are not sure if this is down to the control panel which won't allow us to change the settings (not even from water to ice etc or the temperatures, but they randomly change themselves and sometimes to extremely low temperatures. Everything about this has been a stressful experience and now all I want is a refund and for it to be taken away, but of course I have been told that won't happen. To purchase a product at approximately £700 and have so many problems after 5 months use and then to be told your warranty doesn't start from the date you received the goods is appalling. I will not be purchasing a Kenwood product or from Curry's again.
Fridge/Freezer problem after 15 months
I bought a KNF60X18 fridge freezer from Curry's just 15 months ago to replace my 18 year old Servis fridge which had a problem with its door gaskets and started freezing everything. It has developed a problem with the freezer part working and the fridge warm. It seems like it is a common problem with frost free fridges. I'm shocked this fridge has developed a problem after such a short time. It's just typical to happen just out of warranty when I won't be able to get anyone in because of a pandemic.
DO NOT BUY KENWOOD AMERICAN STYLE…
DO NOT BUY KENWOOD AMERICAN STYLE FRIDGE FREEZER KSBSB17!
I wish I had read the reviews. Just outside its warranty the freezer fan started making very loud noises. Currys no help! How they can continue to sell this faulty product is beyond belief. Now to decide whether to pay £179 for repairs (almost half the cost if the fridge freezer!) Or buy a new one - NOT FROM CURRYS!!!
Kenwood American fridge freezer decides…
Kenwood American fridge freezer decides to beep for no reason so annoying
Currys not interested Kenwood less so what a load of rubbish lots of trouble with these check the internet do not buy
Kenwood KTF60X15 Freezer
Ongoing problems with my Kenwood KTF60X15 Freezer, the door wiring loom to the PCB door temperature display and control has failed for second time in around 15 months which is frustrating given it is a known design fault acknowledged by Curry's. I paid for an extended warranty but the last time it happened getting it fixed was exhausting given I was in the middle of a family bereavement and we ended up with a complete new unit for the sake of a £15 spare Curry's could not source... how is that environmentally friendly? Anyway it has happened again on the replacement unit which is little more than 15 months old and I simply cannot be bothered dealing with the incompetence that is Curry's extended warranty department for such a relatively small problem.I found a replacement "Display PCB Connecting Wire" from "buyspares" for £20 including p+p, going to fit it myself and send Curry's the bill for part and labour! This freezer has been around for a good few years now, how can a simply design fault not have been sorted? I fully expect to be buying a new cable every year or so as long as I have this item and only fall back on the extended warranty should a major issue occur.
Kenwood food processor Model:FPM810
Kenwood food processor Model:FPM810. Cannibalises itself. Wisk attachment snapped off first use. Sizeable part of lid has chipped away during use, resulting in plastic in food. Most recently, when slicing, machine sliced off slivers of plastic from lid, again, resulting in plastic in food. Sadly just past my warranty period, but in fact use the machine very rarely, and should not be having these problems if the product was adequate quality.
Kenwood KTLD60X15 Tall Fridge and freezer
Kenwood KTLD60X15 Tall Fridge and Kenwood KTLD60X15 Tall freezer are two separate unit . The door has a Digital display screen on the front door which is wires through the door hinges and it going to fail and start beeping and have no option but have currys repair it at a cost of £120 this is a scam it happened first to my fridge and now it happened to my freezer .
Don’t buy Kenwood Fridge and the Freezer
Don’t waste your money on these junk
American style fridge freezer KBSBX17
American style fridge freezer KBSBX17. Loved it initially as it's spacious, was relatively quiet and seemed to be a good value price. Just outside the 1yr warranty it started making an awful noise and has now given up cooling and freezing. Shoddy product. You get what you pay for. Had a lovely daewoo before. I don't think I'll ever buy another kenwood.
