We have had a mostly bad experience with Lawcomm for our house conveyancing. If Lawcomm want to publicly respond, our case number is 693395.
Initially all went well, the lady dealing with our case, Ellen Cooper was prompt at responding to requests and let us know what was happening via email and in their good on-line system. Unfortunately she left the company and our next contact was the total opposite. He was very slow at responding and rarely did anything when he said he would. Also, he rarely used the on-line system, so is and his colleagues didn't know what was happening. After many weeks of frustration and second chances, I asked to have another solicitor. Trish Gibson was much more efficient and we had good service until completion. However this was in July 2024 and we still don't have our title documentation. I have asked for the name of the person dealing with our case, but no response. No response either for an urgent request for feedback. We were initially told that the delay was due to the land registry, but I don't believe they have a year delay. I will never use this company again and I don't recommend that anyone else uses them for conveyancing either.

Zahra Khan handled my conveyancing and was brilliant throughout. She was always contactable, very efficient, and kept the whole process moving even when others slowed things down. Clear, proactive, and easy to work with — I’d highly recommend her.

The google reviews are shocking yet on here not so bad. I wish I had read the many negative reviews before we entered into even a discussion but it appears many have reported them to the relevant governing bodies. Some still persue monies owed and quite frankly they do not seem competent at all. I have not, luckily entered into any contract my last minute thought to check reviews saved me. As they say on other reviews LawCon are not to be hired for anything. AVOID

I have used several conveyancers in the past and experience has been mixed. It was refreshing and a bit of a surprise to find the service providers attentive with quick responses to queries and turning the necessary paperwork around very quickly. In particular Shaheen Cheychi was the solicitor allocated who provided most of the service. I has several quotes for this service and they were at the cheaper end but in spite of this provided my best experience of conveyancing.

Not straightforward, yet they were dealing with a straightforward conveyancing matter.
From outset, monies deposited on account yet they had paid it to wrong account and requested more.
Swapped from one solicitor to another several times without warning and when this did happen they kept losing information or not getting a full update between themselves so clearly lots of internal isses. One solicitor when i complained to their supervisor had the cheek to phone and complain that id complained also spouting their years as a senior solicitor means they were so compentent and again didnt like being told some real life home truths that it didnt matter how senior they were, they clearly were not very good at doing some basics!
So finally had a solicitor assigned for more than a few weeks without being swapped but needed lots of prompting and on the final completion statement additional charges for a short period between exchange and completion which is purley their own doing as being so slow.

We have finally had to prompt to obtain our surpless monies back and have also found out they failed to register the title as the mortgage company checked and discovered they didnt have their interest recorded against it!

In short, AVOID!

Lawcomm provide a very thorough service. Zahra Khan is good conveyancer, responsive, easy to deal with, practical and knowledgeable.

I was very apprehensive before choosing a solicitor firm for my sale/purchase. As previous bad experiences and also from others on solicitors! BUT! I can’t fault Lawcomm one bit!! In particular- LUCY HUDSON - I can’t fault her in anyway possible!! She made everything so clear and was always happy to talk to me whenever I required!! She went above and beyond for myself and my family over a very stressful time! It just made this more apparent how good she was when my buyers solicitors were just totally shocking!! They caused us so much stress and delays! Through their lies and dragging everything out!! Lucy pushed and pushed on our behalf and finally got us over the line!

She was dealing with a sale and purchase! My buyer was a FTB and Lucy had everything done and ready to go 2 months before my buyers finally got ready for exchange and completion!

I would extremely recommending Lawcomm and if possible - requesting Lucy Hudson! Actually I was surprised how good she was!!

I have used online conveyancers before but Lawcomm are the best. Their portal is good and Zahra was efficient and professional.

Sayed and the team were very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the conveyancing process of purchasing our first home, they answered emails promptly and elaborated where required. The process did take a little long though, about 4 months.

I have recently completed conveyancing of my house and I can say that experience with them was great. Syed Hoque had been very helpful throughout the process and was always available whenever I needed.

Utterly appalling! I won’t go into details but they don’t care, can be rude and dismissive, inept and frankly, I can safely say that I have never had such a bad experience with a property conveyance, and I’ve done a good few of them. Those who had a good experience were lucky in my view. Do not touch with anybody else’s bargepole, let alone with your own.
