liebherr undercounter freezer

Had the freezer for 4 years with everything working fine but then temp alarm constantly sounded and would not maintain the correct operating temp,when we called the engineer he told us the compressor had gone and needed replacing plus additional parts may be needed that could cost more than the original price of £400 we paid for the freezer.
As the warranty had expired and the compressor in my opinion should have lasted longer than 4 years i decided to look into my rights and found that consumers still have rights when a freezer fails out of warranty.
First point of call for me was the shop that i purchased it from and after several phone calls back and forth they agreed to supply parts if we paid for labour which we agreed to,engineer came back to fit the new compressor at a cost of £120 for labour taking several hours to fit. For the next 5 weeks it worked fine and then failed again with the same problem.I contacted the shop and the engineer who have more than helpfull to inform them that the same thing had happened again and we would not be spending any more money on it and the Only place its going to now is the TIP !!
We went to Currys and bought a cheap replacement freezer for £160 and if that only lasts a year i've had my moneys worth😀

Crap product crap service

The fridge lasted less than 2 yrs. Customer care sat on my complaint for 1 week now, and has not sent a service technician. I call every single day, they keep promising call back in 1 hr. Needless to say, never have they called back. This will have to be sold for scrap and i will have to purchase a more trusted brand. This is pure Bakwaas. The only thing they have ever said was, you will have to pay. They are only interested in taking money, no interest in giving service

I had a problem with the ice maker in…

I had a problem with the ice maker in my Liebherr fridge which I purchased 6 years ago. It was an expensive built in fridge and the ice maker no longer worked. It has frozen. I was told by the service guy that this was corrected in newer fridges by installing a heat kit that stopped it from freezing. The total cost for me to install this kit now was over $800. Right or wrong I saw this as a design flaw and attempted several times to talk to someone at The Canadian HO in Burlington. Initially I was told that all fridge related enquires are handled out of the Miami office. I called there but they said they didn’t handle it. I was told to call customer service in the US. They told me that they don’t hire Canadian issues and to call the HO in Burlington. I called back to the Canadian HO and again the woman who answered Tried to direct me to the US. Told her that was the wrong place and she didn’t know who I could talk to in Canada. I told her that I needed to speak to someone in Canada. After waiting for over 19 min on the phone she came back and said the person I should talk with Is Mike and he would call me back. That was two months ago and still have heard nothing from him. Unbelievable that a company which sells high end products treats their customers so poorly. Who ever is leading Liebherr Canada should take dome training in customer service. Needless to say I will not purchase any Liebherr products in the future.

My fridge wasn’t cold, rang customer services and have had the best experience of any customer service I have had to contact. Absolutely fantastic. We need more like it

Do not under any circumstances purchase…

Do not under any circumstances purchase a Liebherr Fridge or Fridge/Freezer. Mine is 7 years old and I have had nothing but problems. Firstly, a door bolt broke, which resulted in the door falling off. Then the thermostat failed. Finally, the door seal has split. This Fridge has cost me more to repair than the original purchase price. AVOID at all costs.

Poor Quality and worst customer service

I had ordered a Liebherr refrigerator TCR 3520/2018 in June 2020 from Vijay Sales chembur. Within the same day of installation the equipment it stopped cooling. The technician came the next day and he admitted to it not cooling, Inspite of contacting the service center and the area sales manager, there was no resolution. They changed the status of the service inquiry as resolved. My continuous calls to the Area Sales Manager Arjun remained unanswered. Due to the current COVID pandemic I am unable to visit the service center and dont know what to do. Now the refrigerator has started leaking water and no service technician has visited since the last 2 days. Horrible experience. Would advise everyone not to go for this product. Poor Quality and very very poor service.

Super Service - Top Brand - Quality

Super Service. I would just like to commend both the NAA and teh Liebherr team in Ireland. I had a small issue with a Liebherr fridge. Both Liebherr and NAA were fantastic. Resolved in record time. That is when you know that you are dealing with good co's / people ... when you have a query and you see how they deal with it. Very impresssive and I just thought that I needed to acknowledge it. Highly recommended - thank you

From day one the freezer didn't really…

EDIT: Since my review Liebherr have been in contact with me and replaced my faulty fridge freezer with a brand new upgrade.

Given that after sales is as equally important to the customer as the original sale I am editing my feedback to give a fair overview of my personal experience.

I still feel like I was put through far too much on a patently faulty item, but the fact remains they came through in the end and speedily resolved this in my favour. I am very happy with the replacement and the service provided.

I will leave my original review for context.


From day one the freezer didn't really freeze (ice cream turned to mush) and ice began to buildup in the corner of the fridge. After much wrangling, Liebherr eventually sent out an engineer at their cost and it was during the lockdown. They were advised I was shielding and to ensure the engineer took necessary health & safety precautions. He took none, no PPE of any kind and he was openly dismissive of the threat of COVID-19. He was also rude but did seem to fix the problem on the day. That was shortlived, however, the fridge is now collecting ice in the corner again and Liebherr has stopped responding to my emails. Given the price of their goods you'd expect better life out of them and certainly better care of their customers. Awful company, categorically don't recommend. I am now looking to replace an inherently faulty fridge freezer that was sold to me seemingly in breach of trading laws - not as described, not fit for purpose.

Worst fridge and 0 customer care

I bought this fridge in November last year for my Parents who are living in India and it broke down in 7 months .
It took ages to get some one to look at it and to it took another few weeks to get the part ordered .
Now company won’t have people who can come and fix the part and every time we call they are giving us different dates but no one is showing up on any dates given so far .
When other family member called and ask if we can order a new fridge and when can we get delivered the response was straight away we can deliver you next working day .
So company have people to deliver the New fridge but not to attend the service for broken fridge . When we ask why is it like that the company spoke person don’t have answer for it .
My parents are senior citizens And living by them selves and now have to struggle with this situation on daily basis and don’t have any fridge to store food from last few weeks have to buy daily essentials everyday specially in Covid pandemic
When they shouldn’t be going out much.
There is lack of customer care and no one is being helpful even though fridge comes with 10 years warranty .
I highly recommend not to purchase this product as you will have lot of trouble to get it fixed if anything goes wrong .

Try someone else!!

I bought a very expensive Liebherr fridge freezer and wine cooler combination unit 5 years ago. For those 5 years it has all been excellent and worked well.
During the last month the freezer unit has been failing and now stopped working.
I contacted them via email as I could not get any answer by phone. After several days they responded by asking me to contact their service agent near me. When I did this they informed me their engineers were all laid off due to COVID so I went back to Liebherr to find out who else can repair their equipment. I am still waiting.
Contrast this service to others even during these times and this is 1 star service.
My advice is try someone else!!

I will never buy another Liebherr…

I will never buy another Liebherr appliance. I bought an integrated freezer and biofresh fridge believing that it was similar in quality to Miele. I was told they came from the same factory with different labels. I've had endless problems with the freezer that iced over destroying the entire contents 5 times due to 'sensor' issues. The issues with the biofresh fridge relate to plastic brackets breaking off and dropping the shelves to the floor, flimsy plastic drawers that break and icing of the back of the fridge due to inadequate sealing of the doors. Liebherr is the most expensive brand I've bought and definitely the worst quality. Having bought several Miele products over the years I do not think that they are in the same league when it comes to quality.

LIEBHERR Fridge & Freezer Review - worst EVER

I always believed in the philosophy "you get what you pay for" until I bought a LIEBHERR fridge and freezer costing over $10,000. They were both professionally installed in late January 2020 and within a week, our first fault occurred with the ice maker in the freezer, which never stops making ice and so causes the module to burn out after a couple of days.

We waited 10 days for the parts to be delivered and installed after the first service call for which we had already waited several days. The service engineer politely informed me that the manufacturer had decreed the ice maker was meant to be MANUALLY controlled so we must remember to switch off making ice once the bucket was full! (Clearly BS intended to cover up faulty design).

Fast forward a couple of months and now the fridge decides to start FREEZING produce. Ber in mind, this is in the middle of covid lockdown so we are trying to preserve food and not ruin it. Two of the vegetable and produce drawers started to free items SOLID for example, lemons were "rocks" and all content had to be thrown out. This also affected the rest of the fridge areas with milk going icy, vegetables (even in the main fridge) turning to icy sludge.

Now onto the CRAPPY service from LIEBHERR. After a call with their "technician" we adjusted the program temperature higher which I insisted would not resolve the issue, however he insisted we wait 24 hours to see if it solved the problem - of course it didn't, it just wasted even more valuable produce. I called back the specialist that I had spoken with however he was off for the day and I was finally connected to a "specialist" who agreed with me that this may be caused by a faulty sensor, he agreed to arrange a service call and at my insistence make sure the required part was brought with him.

After waiting 2 more days for the service call, the engineer first called me to confirm he was on the way. I asked if he had the component and he had to call me back (clearly he didn't). Finally the engineer arrived and called the LIEBHERR specialist for instructions on how to proceed. He was told to go into the programming mode and set all the temperatures to MAXIMUM in order to resolve the issue. I insisted this would again not fix the problem however he told me he was instructed to leave and regardless of my insistence he connect me with the company first, he left the property.

I called the "specialist" at LIEBHERR and explained that far from being a layman, I am an electronics engineer with many years of diagnostic experience. I asked him to explain to me under what conditions would a fridge that had worked satisfactorily for 2 months suddenly start to freeze everything and be resolved by "turning up the temperature" - of course he could not but insisted he had followed the correct "procedure"!

At this time I am waiting for the courtesy of a reply from their senior manager but have heard NOTHING yet. I advised the "specialist" that I would start to post my experiences of their product on a regular basis until I received the requested call.

In a nutshell - my experience so far with LIEBHERR products is extremely poor. The products are at the top of the price range for these items and consumers should expect quality products and in the case of faults, stellar service. In this case neither have materialized!

To add insult to injury, the service engineer who arrived today left without resolving anything (or fitting the sensor he brought with him) arrived without gloves, had a facemask but did not wear it and seemed to have no idea of social distancing or any of the precautions we are all taking to stay safe in our own homes!

Next time Sub-Zero!

Poor quality product

I thought paying over £400 I would be getting a quality fridge. However I have found out this not to be the case. Do not waste your money on Liebherr - fridge seal failed 2yrs and 3 months (3 months o/s warranty) - Liebherr has no good will gesture so won't be recommending them to anyone or buy another unit.

Best customer service ever for my Liebherr tall built-in freezer!

I cannot speak more highly of the service I have received this week from Liebherr. I don’t expect problems with a freezer and this one is only 22 months old - within its two year warranty. Having been away for two days, on my return I found it had stopped working late Friday afternoon, was lucky enough to be able to transfer some of the fast-warming food to another freezer, and rang Liebherr around 9 a.m. Monday morning. Yuri from Liebherr’s service company, JUL services, was at the door before the end of the morning, believed he knew what was wrong but needed a part, and returned this morning, Tuesday, shortly after nine a.m. and replaced the inverter. In the UK we’ve generally come to expect terrible customer service, and we are amazed to receive such a speedy and efficient response - we’ll definitely recommend Liebherr and will be buying them again - thank you all very much indeed - we’re really grateful!

quality of products is quite low…

quality of products is quite low compare to same technical possibility of lower price range cooler freezers.
How can one cooler freezer with low frost may cost in Denmark almost 1.000 eur. for quite basic models and its even no support NO Frost function.
even more- the new gas system require what cooler run compressor twice more that old models what makes refrigerator very noisy- its like a living * tractor* what you have beside you all the time.
if you live in the studio- 24*7- what is very unpleasant for very high price. And at last- 2 years and lot of refrigerators- broke or need some small replacements- come on Liebherr- you robbing us for some cheap plastic products.

CUN 3033 fridge freezer....handle…

CUN 3033 fridge freezer....handle shatterd after being slightly bashed...wrong or bad plastic...pulled off from its brackets .Handle should lock door to fridge.Securing clamp to water flow tube out actually pinches it. Soon after 4 yr warranty....very variable temperature eg not freezing icecream and it got worse loses temperature to point affects food.eg 1 *c freezer and plus 8-9 c for fridge...seals start cracking and splitting....alarm goes off several times a day night. This not good enough quality a unit like this shpuld last 10-15 years easily. Too expensive to repair. Buying another brand. Very disappointing.

Love my silver CNel 4813…

Love my silver CNel 4813 fridge/freezer, no problems and looks good! Aftersales service was excellent too when I had to replace a glass shelf that I broke, they sent one out by next day delivery and were lovely on the phone. Can’t fault the appliance or the service! Thanks Liebherr!

A very helpful company keen to guard the good name of their products

I have a Liebherr CUN 3033 fridge/freezer and the freezer compartment broke down two weeks out of the 2 year warranty. I rang Coolectric the agents for Liebherr in the UK and without any hesitation they arranged for an engineer to come out. Unfortunately it was not able to be fixed after several visits by the engineers. Cooletric arranged for a a brand new replacement CUN 3033 fridge/freezer. What a fantastic service from a quality company and manufacturer.
