Loverly experienced experts. Very friendly knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend the firm its has a very good service. although on this occasion the right outcome couldn’t be reached due to merits and complex nature, they still gave me other options.
I would like to thank Monika, and line manager Gemma. They are both very helpful and don’t waste time they are very swift and reliable!! Thanks again. 😊

I had a bike accident and was delighted to discover personal claims insurance on my home contents insurance. I presume LD were the associated solicitors, who dealt with my claim efficiently.

I had the misfortune of being assigned Lyons Davidson as my legal representation via motor legal insurance I took out through my car insurance, which I paid for to make my life easier in the event of an accident.
Instead, my situation was made significantly worse due to the crippling unprofessionalism and lack of standards present within Lyons Davidson’s and their staff.
My representative was atrocious at communicating, was unable to manage their workload, couldn’t/wouldn’t answer my questions clearly or efficiently, had a crippling lack of initiative and a clear lack of motivation to work on my case.
Additionally, months at a time were passing by without my representative making any meaningful progress, so clearly, whatever senior staff member at Lyons Davidson responsible for supervising my representative, also wasn't doing their job properly either.
Suffering from injuries and severe mental health conditions due to my accident, I was forced into this situation to have to try to manage a legal representative that was clearly out their depth – which I was absolutely not up for doing due to my poor health.
When I raised my experiences with the complaints team, I was once again met with the typical lack of interest, lack of empathy and dismissive attitude that I have become accustomed to receiving. Dependent on the true level of expertise at this firm, the senior staff should be fully aware of the negative impacts that prolonged litigation can have on clients – but the complaints team just hand-waved my complaint away (this is the exact reason there’s regulatory bodies though).
There’s a 3-year time limit on making a claim, and despite my desperate attempts to seek help, Lyons Davidson’s unprofessionalism and the significant amount of time they wasted accomplishing nothing worthy of mentioning, I now may not be able to claim at all (although hopefully I should, just an additional stress my mental health absolutely did not need).
If I do manage to claim and get help, that help will still be years away now so in the coming weeks I’m either going to have to default on my credit cards or declare bankruptcy as after approximately 3 years from my accident, I can no longer hold off my financial troubles after so long. I’m going to repeat this for emphasis - I am going to have irreparable damage done to my long-term finances, credit rating and wellbeing, all of which was completely avoidable, in large part because of the delay caused by Lyons Davidson as well as their inability to abide by the most minimal conduct standards (for instance, at no point was anyone at Lyons Davidson ‘working in my best interests’, a basic standard of conduct set out by the Law Society of Scotland).
This was a relatively simple case – in comparison to others - with an abundance of evidence available: dash cam footage, the police report charging the other driver, multiple witnesses, the other insurer admitting liability and extensive doctor notes; but despite all this my solicitor struggled organizing anything to do with my case (simple things like requesting medical records should be well within the ability of any solicitor without the need to be micromanaged by a vulnerable client with - at the time - limited understanding of my legal rights).
Being from an evidence-based profession myself (I was training to be a psychologist before my accident), I know about the abundance of evidence there was – this was about as easy as a case that could have been provided for Lyons Davidson. However, even with an abundance of evidence available and me trying to micromanage them, a simple claim around a car accident was beyond the capacity of this firm’s staff.
Anyone having to seek out legal help is already probably stressed and worried enough, without adding to their difficulties. We absolutely do not need the unprofessionalism of lawyers adding to our predicaments.
Whatever your issue is, you want legal representation on your side, willing to listen and motivated to help you.
That’s not what you’re going to find here.

Do NOT recommend.
It’s been a year with no updates, no progress, and very poor communication. I’ve sent emails and messages via the portal, but still no response.
I’m left with no clear information on my case at all. The lack of contact and professionalism has been extremely frustrating. I just want this sorted asap!!
I would strongly advise others to avoid this firm.

From my first point of contact with Lyons Davidson Solicitors through to my Case Handler being appointed, all the staff involved were friendly, polite and nothing was too much trouble. Contacting a Solicitor for a legal matter can cause apprehension and the matter itself is usually stressful, so having people put you at your ease is wonderful.

Genuinely one of the worst companies I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. We were referred to them by our insurers and after several months they were still deciding if they would take the case forward. Messages in the portal are not even read and sit unanswered for weeks at a time. I was promised a final response next day, and 2 weeks later was still waiting. This was all in spite of us having actual footage of the damage to our property being done. We just never felt like they were on our side or were interested in supporting our case. In a phone conversation with a member of staff, it was clear they had no idea about the details of our case.
We moved to another company and made very swift process within a few weeks. The difference was remarkable. I would avoid this company at all cost.

I had contact with Bethany Chandler on two occasions, both by email and phone on each occasion.
Beth was extremely helpful in dealing with my specific issues but was also very willing to explaining the background to how the procedures for insurance claims operate in practice,
The above left me with a feeling of great relief as I now understand how my claim will be progressed by Lyons (personal claims) and my vehicle insurer (legal team) and I have no little niggles playing at the back of my mind.
Excellent job all round.
Regards
Peter

We recently had the pleasure of being supported by Lyon Davidson Solicitors in helping us to evict a tenant from our property, and we cannot thank two of their staff, KYLE GARRETT and LEE DAVIS enough for guiding us through the entire process with absolute professionalism and sound legal advice.
We were constantly kept informed through out the process and they promptly responded to our queries with clarity, which effectively ensured that we obtained the expected outcome in our case, within a reasonable time frame. Kyle supported us throughout the court process and ensure that legal representation was provided to us at the hearing.
Lee was particularly helpful with the post-court eviction proceedings and securing bailiffs to assist with that operation. His methodical approach ensured all grounds were covered and that the day went as expected.
Kyle and Lee are both first -class professionals who demonstrated dedication and commitment in going the extra mile to ensure that we regained possession of our property.
We would highly recommend the company, and in particular, KYLE GARRETT and LEE DAVIS for a fantastic service to us.

I found this legal company substandard. One in six reviews here are one star and it’s worse on other review sites. No surprise when you understand their setup. All the reviews are people like me told to use them by their insurer claims manager “Arc Legal”. Not by choice or recommendation. The claims are mostly not handled by solicitors but by a “paralegal” or “claims handler”. I’m guessing that’s because they’re not getting paid enough by the insurer, despite “£50,000 legal claims cover”. So Lyons don’t staff the work with solicitors, and work on low margin, high volume claims. Yet the company charge these unqualified people out for hundreds per hour and they’re advertising themselves as solicitors, not like in review replies here where they say they are “legal advisors”. It might have been ok if the paralegals had been experienced (they weren’t) and the work properly supervised by a solicitor (the supervisor wasn’t.) I understand under a case called Mazur, this isn’t allowed. You’re far better off telling the insurer you will choose your own solicitor. Don’t pay any attention to this company telling you the policy doesn’t give any legal right to be represented by a Solicitor as they are writing in reviews here. Even the policy says you can choose your own solicitor and it’s a legal right, although expect “Arc Legal” to obstruct you in doing that.

My case is now finally over.
3 years it took.
Injury claim accident - 2023.
2026 finally got a letter of my payment to soon be transferred.
Having no communication and update with my original case handler to my case handler transferred to someone else to be even worse, no process and new updates.
Case handler now has been changed again.
Mr Reet Mahi.
He got onto my case and had sorted everything, speedy process and he had done brilliant. I would give no starts at all but I will give Ravi Mahi 5 stars for sure. Thanks for your help Mr Mahi wish you was handling my case since the claim.
Since December 2023 nothing was happening
Ravi was transferred to ny case from 03/2026.
Letter of payment to be received 04/2026.

I would like to give massive thanks to Kai Downey, the handler of my case dealt with my claim after the Road accident. He was very helpful with providing me adequate information to enable me to make the best decision, and he is very quick in responding my emails. He is patient, approachable and very friendly. The case has been over a year when he took over from the previous handler, and since the problems got resolved in reasonable time and I have now received the compensation. I really appreciate his effort and help for my case. Thank you.
