Rude uncaring

There was an animal caught in the compactor and thrashing its body against the wall. A nasty woman I believe to be the manager came out screaming at me and refused to stop compacting so we could help the animal. In fact they used it more. I called corporate office in Texas and no one would call me back. They refused any offer to help the animal
I will NEVER shop at any Michaels store ever again,.

Delivery

I ordered a Christmas tree and gave detailed instructions to apartment bldg, my unit & required signature for delivery. It was dropped off to at vacant bldg, and of course no signature was obtained. Customer service ignores my request for an update on my refund.

Worst customer service

I would give zero if allowed. Started with an online purchase that I had used my rewards on and come to find my receipt doesn't reflect that attempted to call customer service after I placed my order to cancel the order but the wait time was over 2 hours chat was over an hour called back again the next following day sat on hold for 2 hours got nowhere filed a complaint was able to finally get my order canceled. The customer service said they are busy which is why long hold times. That is not acceptable, they were not going to cancel my order as they told me i had to do it under the hour after i placed it. However the 2 plus hour wait time made it impossible. Today we went into the store today to shop for some Christmas clearance items they have nothing marked you have to find a store representative to scan each item to tell you the cost. They do t tell you original price just what the sale cost is. Deceptive practices for sure. Michael's has gone downhill I was there last year shopping had no problems I don't know what happened this past year but it needs help.

They take orders for items they don’t have and then don’t tell you when its unavailable

I placed an online order for a qty:8 of 1 item, which they said they had in stock. I got a message saying my whole order was ready. I came to pick it up and only 2 items were in the bag. No message or employee telling me my whole order wasn’t complete, just my order there to grab (which anyone could have grabbed, they don’t check ID, you just grab what you want). They’ve left me in an impossible position where I no longer had time to order elsewhere. I will be taking my business some place else from now on. If they can’t fill orders for items in stock or at the very least tell people when they can’t, then they don’t need my business.

Horrible experience in store

Today I visited the Glendale CA store. There were no employees on the floor that I could find. The item I wanted to buy had no price on it. After waiting (a long time) in the checkout line, I was barked at by the only employee in the store, who seemed to know only one word in human language “card”, which she kept shouting to every customer waiting in line. I tried to explain that I needed to know the price of the item I wanted to buy, and I wanted to use a coupon before I decided if/how to make the purchase. She didn’t bother to look at my coupon, but said I couldn’t use it for Christmas sale merchandise. I don’t see any restriction about that on the “rewards voucher” I have, nor in the email it came in. Meanwhile, she punched in some info on a computer screen and said I had to pay with a credit card. So I guess she decides whether or not customers want to make a purchase(!) after deciding their rewards voucher is no good without looking at it.

What a joke

What a joke! Went to my closest Michael’s store because I was searching for a specific item that they said they had in stock. It said there was 14 of this item in stock I get to the store and the item is not there. There are three employees looking for it one only seem to generally care the other two had attitude about it. They tried convincing me to go to another store, which I was like. Why would I wanna go to another store when this one says there’s 14 and you can’t find them why would I travel another 30 minutes to play a guessing game?! so I get home I contact customer service and ask them if they’ll kindly ship me the item for free Shipping customer service agrees, but of course they have attitude , but it was very nice to give me the free shipping. I placed my order. It comes immediately, and the item is completely damaged up. It was like the jokes on me. I must of pissed somebody off and they sent me a completely damaged sign! looks like the sign have been through war and back! so I contact customer service. I tell them she sends another sign out, that one came today that one’s all messed too, at this point, I’ve had enough and I don’t care anymore and they clearly don’t want me to shop at their store which is weird. I was just trying to do something. They should have never agreed to give me the free shipping if it was gonna cause this much trouble and honestly, what a waste on their part that they spent so much money to ship out a damage sign twice to me! what was the point of that?! so clearly somebody was pissed, somebody is wasting Michael’s money & time and somebody made Michael’s lose a customer

Poor performance by Staff

I attended the Michaels Craft Store at Market Crossing In Burnaby, BC. Canada.
The vibe in this store is horrendous! I’ve been in there plenty of times to know that the overall feel of the store is unpleasant. It starts with Store Managers like “Victoria” who are so unfriendly & rude! I truly don’t know how people like her got the position of store manager. The rest of the staff are NO BETTER. The moral in that place is very NEGATIVE. It seems like you can cut the tension of the store with a sword. It’s really sad cause I like the inventory and supplies but absolutely cringe when I have a question cause I know I have to interact with their staff.
The store should really invest in COACHING THE STAFF on being positive towards customers. Staff act like they’re forced to work there or something and I’ve even overheard them complaining about each other as I was shopping in one of the aisles recently. Anyhow, it is what it is, but I hope they improve because so far it’s really unacceptable.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all that read this.

Careless packaging

I just received a package from Michaels. I bought multiple items, including a wooden board/easel and a bottle of ink. The bottle of ink was not wrapped and the bottle went free of its cardboard box. It didn't spill, thank the universe, it could have with the wooden board in the same box, but it was obviously sheer luck more than the careful planning and packaging of Michaels' team. All the other items were either wrong and/or in pieces. A roll of tape that is completely our of its plastic casing and a speedball drawing pen/nib kit with the pen and nibs free from the packaging as well and a metal ruler that i did not order. The pen and nibs seem okay, again more sheer luck... The carelessness of the team when packaging our orders is appalling. Getting the wrong item, that can happen, an honest mistake, but not wrapping A BOTTLE OF INK?!?!!

DO NOT ORDER CHRISTMAS GIFTS

DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM IF YOU EXPECT YOUR GIFT TO BE NOT VISIBLE. I ordered the classic leg lamp from the christmas story movie for my mother. I have little money and now have to find something else to get for her. This thing came in its original packaging and guess who brought the package in when it was delivered? If you guessed my mom, youre right. So now my surprise is ruined. The level of incompetence with this company is so low. Right down to the people that you talk to on the phone. Not surprising that they dont hire genius level associates. I called and was on hold for over an hour to complain and find out if thwy could do something for me. Nope. Never again. I will never order anything from michaels nor will i ever shop there again. Im very angry. Dont give these dummies your money, youll be sorry.

I finally am giving up on Michaels

I finally am giving up on Michaels! I tried to order the same items 2 different times without any luck. First time was for curbside pickup - RIGHT as I was getting ready to go pick them up, I get a message they don't have have either of them in stock.... this unfortunately isn't the first time their stock availability was incorrect. So then I order it to be shipped from a store in a different county who claims they have it in stock. Well, a week later, I get two totally different items than what I ordered.
The real nightmare started when I foolishly attempted to talk to someone in customer service. There chatbot wasted over 30 minutes of my time waiting for the agent to come on before it just kicked me back to the main menu that just kept repeating that my items were delivered and kicks me back into the main menu.
After waiting an entire hour, I FINALLY got someone to answer their phone line, and they said they will have it shipped out again, but there is no way to receive it any quicker than a week later.
Whole thing was a lesson in customer service purgatory. I miss JOANN so much...

Whoever is running this place should go work in one......

3x since Halloween I went looking for items their website said were on shelves - even provided aisle locations. Nothing was in stock. No prices on anything. Asked an associate where their scanners were. Was told they were told by corporate to remove them all. Last night I ordered Xmas ribbon website said was in store. This morning they emailed cancelling my order cause it was not in stock. 3x in 5 weeks. Store employees look exhausted and frustrated. I felt the same after visiting or ordering on line to find website isn't accurate. Pricing has always been a scam. They're a few doors down from a Marshall's that has similar items for 1/3 their "compare to" pricing. Just shut it down and let people move on with their lives.

waiting Patiently for nothing..

I waited in line for almost 45min at Michael's off the 377 in Watauga TX. I was at the framing counter. The lady was supposed to help me see if a flag would fit in a shadow box. After waiting patiently all this time for her to finish 2 customers, it was my turn. Well another lady walks up. She told the lady she had to take care of me first. But she didn't, she went to the lady and made me wait even though I was there 40 min before this other lady. I was so hot I had to leave, in order not to cause a scene.. that was very unsat!!.

If I could give them a 0 I would.

I have never had a problem buying anything at a brick and mortar store. I decided to purchase cookie tins online because the Michaels I went to didn't supply it.

I ordered three decorative round tins for $25 on 11/14/25. What they delivered to me were 2 packs of 6 budget square blank canvas ??

I contacted customer service by phone and was greeted with How old am I ? If I am over 50 press 1 when I pressed one instead of being connected I was told I won some bullshit prize...

So instead of wasting further time on the phone I emailed customer service. It took a week to hear back from customer service and I was asked if I wanted a refund or a replacement. I chose a replacement as of 11/30/25 I have yet to receive said replacement.

Michaels also asked me to review their product online, I wrote of my whole experience and to no surprise here they denied my review. 😑

Everything arrives broken every. Single.time

Every time I have an order shipped to my house from the Michaels warehouse or whatever the items have ALWAYS arrived broken. Michaels can't package and ship for shit. Ordered the christmas swan and the swan arrived with a broken neck and crown. Ordered two wall curios both arrived broken all to pieces. Ordered a table curio, box had a hole in that made the top part of the design arrive broken, box was not even adequate enough for the item so the top part was sticking out. Tried to leave a review on the website and michaels kept rejecting it, so I came here to kick them in the teeth

I recently purchased some holiday items…

I recently purchased some holiday items from the Michaels online store & when the arrived today I noticed several things that pertain to the shipping of the items, not the products themselves.

First of all, the box was about 4x too big for what I bought, it was "sealed" with one piece of tape across the top of the box that was coming off & the label was ready to fall off, as well, hanging on by one corner. Whomever packaged it, basically threw everything in the box with one piece of packing paper placed on top, nothing was protected. It is a miracle everything arrived without getting broken.

The box also had a slit across one side and was smashed in on several sides due to several reasons.
Two of those reasons are Michael's responsibility:
1.) The employee used a box that was at least 4x too large &
2.) The quality of the box was shoddy. It was 32 lb test.

I have an eBay shop & I only use quality 200 lb test boxes that are the right fit for the products I sell, I bubble wrap every item & make sure everything is packed securely, inside and out. I treat my buyers the way I wish to be treated & package their items as if they were my own, with care.

After this experience, I will never purchase anything from Michael's online store again. That isn't the kind of service I wish to receive when I am spending my hard earned money in any store, whether it is online or a brick & mortar shop.
Do Better!!!!!

Rude Customer Service

I’m genuinely baffled by our experience at the Roswell Road East Cobb Avenue Michaels in Marietta Georgia. We took three teen girls who love art and allowed them to browse while we (their moms) stayed in the store. They were quiet, respectful, and simply looking through the store.

In the marker aisle, there was butcher paper completely covered in marker scribbles, which gave the clear impression that testing markers there was acceptable. The girls drew a small heart and small doodles while testing them - nothing malicious.

An employee approached them and told them they weren’t supposed to do that, which they immediately apologized for. That should have been the end of it. Instead, he remained there, went on about it way too long, and even made a comment to another customer about “teenagers.” It felt condescending and unnecessary, especially considering we were right there in the store supervising. (Which he clearly did not know that adults were with them - and assumed that they were teenagers alone in the store)

The girls were upset and wanted to leave - we asked them what happened and then decided to go find someone to speak to. We spoke to another employee who claimed the store has special “sensors” for that aisle and that police have been involved over marker testing - but there were NO signs posted and the aisle was visibly covered in test marks. Again, butcher paper had been put out through this aisle too. If this is such a serious issue for them, clear boundaries would prevent misunderstandings.

It was all just so oddly extreme and unnecessary. A simple "Please don't test the markers" would of been fine.

I called corporate, and they were surprised by how this was handled. They were kind, but I have little hope that the store management will take our complaint seriously. I think there needs to be better training protocols for how to deal with customers.

Superb customer service

I shopped today at Michaels in Timonium Store #4801 around 7.38pm on 11/3/2025 and was very impressed by two team members. The sales person a woman for which I did not get the name helped me find the paperbags and Helium container by taking me instead of just showing vaguely in the direction. Great csutomer service I thought. At the check out counter was the most friendly young gentleman who guided me to a getting my coupon and was so easy to chat with. He reminded me as well to get the cart back to the shop which I thought was wonderful. Holding me accountable and being kind is a must. I told him I absolutely would and he shouted a big thank you when I pushed the cart through the entrance back. Such a great experience with two employees! Keep up the great work and I will return soon.

Customer Service Needs To Improve

I had an absolute nightmare experience with Michael’s that I explained in detail in my original review. To emphasize how bad it was, they sent my order to the wrong address, and when I noticed this when tracking the order and made them aware of it they repeatedly had the carrier return the order only to repeatedly mail it to the wrong address even though my correct address was in my account - and that was made worse by many communication problems and broken promises as I tried to get it resolved. I came back today and erased what was in my original review to say that I received an email asking me to review my recent purchase. I shared in that review my nightmare experience. Shortly afterwards, I received contact from a customer service representative named Tiffany who was an absolute gem. Unlike the many other customer service reps I’d talked to who didn’t help or keep one promise they made, Tiffany stuck with me and went above and beyond to get the issues resolved by keeping her promises on everything she promised to do and staying in communication with me every step of the way. If I were just going to review Tiffany, it would be 5 stars. Weighing Tiffany’s help with the previous lack of help, I’m changing this review from a one star to a three star. Tiffany should get a raise and a promotion she did such a good job.
