What you described does happen most of the time. However, the main issue is with your shipping company here in Malawi. In many cases, once the item arrives, it takes over a week to be delivered, even after the taxes have already been paid unlike DHL is fast to deliver.
Additionally, responses to emails from your side tend to take a long time, which further delays the process.

Great experience! Easy website to navigate and payment process was quick and efficient. On receipt of laptop was really happy with the condition and the fresh install of windows allowing me to setup as I required. All instructions were clear and a few labels attached as reminders.
