A terrible service that's practically impossible to use if you're a free user.
I only have one artist, why should I pay for another subscription?
I registered, provided my documents, sent a request to add my artist, and since then, nothing. Even though they claim verification takes several days, up to a week, it's probably been a month already.
I've already released four singles, but because of them, I still can't add lyrics even to the first one! They simply won't verify me.
Then I noticed that my distribution service (amuse) has a quick verification option, but it doesn't work because it requires adding a new artist (even if it's the same artist), and I supposedly already have one, which they haven't verified for almost a month.
I thought, okay, I'll delete the current artist and add them again, but this time through amuse. However, suddenly, it can't be deleted! This option simply doesn't exist anywhere!
I thought, okay, since this account is completely ruined, I'll delete it and create a new one and immediately link the artist through Amuse.
I deleted it, created a new one, but I simply can't log in! Every time I try to log in, I get an Infinite loading screen or error: "Something went wrong".
An absolutely terrible service that, unfortunately, has a monopoly in its niche, and you simply have no alternative, since music stores only work with it. It's simply impossible and inconvenient to use.

Update:
After my review, they contacted me quickly and verified my artist almost instantly.
I'm still not happy with how inconvenient the website is (it's very easy to get confused in it), as well as the fact that even basic functions like deleting an artist are behind a paywall.
But at least they genuinely care about their reputation and are quite quick to try to help. In the world of digital services this is very important.

By far one of the worst apps out there. The website is riddled with errors and glitches, the ai chatbot doesn't help at all, and there is no way to communicate with support. I have had issues since June 2025, and I'm still waiting for someone to get back to me.
Based on what the AI chat said, the only way to "fix" the issue is by subscribing, contacting support, or verifying my account. First of all, why would I pay money to support a broken website? I'm still dealing with the same issues where the system is stuck telling me to verify, when my account has been verified. I cannot add my lyrics to my own songs, and there is no way to report these issues to Musixmatch. When the chatbot does "offer" to connect me with support, I am forced to select 1 of a few pre-populated options that are not related to my issue.
There is no contact us page, and all of the available "emails" that I've sent mail to have never gotten back to me. 6 months later, still no answer.

Great website to send official lyrics of our songs,
to Spotify, iTunes, ect...
Thank you Musixmatch !
I love writing, this experience with Musixmatch in someway fulfill what I love to do. And with different level of enthusiasm. Combining writing with music listening is awesome.
I think the setup of the website is easy to use and the tools are easily accessible without the Pro.
The glitchiest website I have ever used. Considering I paid about 160 USD for the privilege of using it (I believe it's normally closer to $180 for Pro but I got a small discount through LANDR), I expect much better functionality. Every song I have tried to sync has taken *at least* ten attempts, but on average probably twenty, as the website keeps crashing - this has happened on several, separate occasions. Clearing cache doesn't help. Ridiculous that this site has the monopoly on uploading lyrics. I hope someone with better infrastructure comes along to disrupt the market as this user experience truly sucks the joy out of uploading lyrics. Once they're up though it's great, and the auto-generated short clips and longer ones are nice. Just a shame it's such a pain to get to that point.
UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO MUSIXMATCH REPLY: Hello, thanks for your reply. I appreciate it. I am using the latest version of Chrome on desktop, no VPN. I have cleared cookies, cache for all time and restarted my machine and browser. None of this has helped. How do I contact you for support or some kind of compensation? This feels more like amateur hour and a rip off for artists who care about managing their lyrics more than it feels like a 160 USD 'Pro' experience. Until this user experience improves I will be advising people I know to avoid 'Pro' if they can help it. You can get a whole DAW for this amount of money, and that's not a yearly subscription, that's for life. Appalling rip off for the quality of functionality on the site. And to be specific about the issues that come up:
- audio file of song fails to upload for syncing 9 times out of 10 - massive waste of time and effort
- when stuff does finally upload, at some point everything freezes and I have to refresh and start again - at which point it's 50/50 whether my progress has been saved
- AI-time sync fails to load 9 times out of 10. Again, problem of things crashing, needing to reload and then progress may not have been saved at all, meaning the whole process needs to be started again - again.
- All in all, a process that could take 10 minutes or less if all goes smoothly is taking as much as an hour for each song. That is why, to me, this tool feels unprofessional and nowhere near worth the money I paid to use 'Pro'.
Looking through other reviews at three stars or lower I can see I am not the only one experiencing these issues.
I will, of course, update my review, if/when things change for the better.

Really I enjoyed with it, like a pretty exam I have
I‘m now waiting for almost a month to get verified as an artist. They basically force you to subcribe with only offering support when you do so. Worst Platform in the whole music industry, i’m sorry.

The integration of digital tools that attribute to generating DSP and social media content - supports and makes marketing easier for independent artists to market themselves and build a career without the need of a major label. Musixmatch is more than a lyrics distributor, this is a marketing machine. I am beyond impressed... I am seeing way more than I anticipated.
Musixmatch has turned into a textbook example of a greedy, artist-hostile platform.
The so-called “free tier” is practically unusable. Basic features are intentionally broken or restricted, constant bugs appear during simple actions, and when you try to contact support, you’re pushed into a subscription wall. Even basic help requires payment, which is unacceptable.
This doesn’t feel accidental — it feels deliberate. The platform creates friction, errors, and dead ends in the free tier to frustrate users into subscribing. Lyrics submission, edits, and reviews are painfully slow or fail entirely, while paid users magically get access to “support” and working tools.
What makes this worse is that artists are forced to rely on Musixmatch because major DSPs like Spotify and Meta use it for lyrics. That monopoly power is being abused. Charging creators just to fix metadata or get a response is exploitative.
There’s no transparency, no accountability, and no respect for independent artists. If you’re an indie creator, be aware: this platform treats frustration as a business model.
I wouldn’t recommend Musixmatch unless you’re ready to pay just to make the platform function.

I love to co-tribute with the translations of lyrics from the songs of my favorite artists, and Musixmatch allows me that.
It's so so amazing, I love the way it simplifies the lyrics distribution
So far it’s less complicated, I was able to upload and sync my lyrics although it not yet live but hopefully it would and I can’t wait to see how it plays. Aside from that everything is great and I love the feature.
Simple and easy to use .best lyric app🔥🔥🔥
It is very decent, and have accurate information in anyway, held very much in modern technology
Update 12/15: Updated the review as after writing it they did come look at the account and do some updates. It appears that for the most part things now are behaving the way they advertise so went from 2 star to 4 star rating for the correction. Still see issues where everything is AI driven with no way out, but at least there's enough engagement from the company to take these types of reviews seriously.
Original review:
They seem to me to basically be a money scamming scheme if you want your lyrics pushed along with the music. They say they support a free tier, but then will refuse to validate your artist profile or make it take MONTHS. But if you pay for it, then we'll do it in a few days. Problem is that even if you do pay for it, their help is almost exclusively AI and they won't solve any problems for you. I have a ticket for a pro paid account that's been open for weeks, no response despite saying it shouldn't be longer than 1-2 business days. Be prepared that the solution to any problem is "pay us" ... even the ones they say they support for free.
It's also the rudest AI help system I've ever seen. Ask it a question and you aren't a paid tier, it'll throw our an answer that basically says "pay, or shut up an wait" (in a slightly more polite form) and then hang up on you.
