Nokia 5.3 bricked by update
An Android 12 update has bricked by Nokia 5.3 phone. It just repeatedly boots to the Android splash screen, displays the bootloader screen and then restarts. I asked customer services if I could repair it myself over a USB connection, but they said they couldn't send me the instructions to do that, as the IMEI showed it was out of warranty!! Instead, I would have to send it to a Nokia service centre for however long it took to fix. I'm just going to buy another non-Nokia phone and I assume that Nokia will again be going out of business before long.

Worst brand ever bricked my Nokia 5.3 and doesn´t want to fix it

I set phone up and now cannot navigate thru to my apps. They r hidden in a file my games will not load. I will never buy another Nokia phone. As soon as I get to a store I will buy a different phone. All a phone needs to do is b easy to navigate and work the apps you want to use.
Avoid like the plague
I have joined the litany of complaints about the Android 12 security update which has trashed my Nokia 5.3 making it unusable and ready for the garbage.
Nokia customer service is appalling, their technical prowess even worse. They deserve to go out of business - hopefully soon before many others suffer their incompetence.

I applied for a subscription service and never received the product. They are still taking money from my account. Bunch of thieves.
Thieves
I ordered a phone direct from them 24th October 2022. It was delivered to my local parcelshop but there it was either lost or stolen before I could collect it. DHL say it was lost, ask Nokia for a refund. Nokia say it's not their problem, talk to DHL. Many emails, mostly ignored by Nokia and they still have my £250. Awful customer service. AVOID.
I think this is absolutely worst phone I ever bought
I bought this phone cannot use it,talk to 20-25 people they couldn’t fix it . I spent hours upon hours talking to them, useless they would lie, never call back like they said.I give up on cell phones. Never again.people don’t need to work and they could care less about the employer.what a world today!
Bricked Nokia 5.3 - no support
As per another user's review, 5.3 phone has been totally trashed when factory resetting after installing android 12 security update. Customer services are refusing to repair for free. How can it be that Nokia firmware, which was automatically installed on my phone, can cause whatever damage desired without accepting any liability or responsibility? How can this be legal? How can Nokia be satisfied with this as a customer services outcome?

I bought the Nokia 8.3 and the microphone broke after a year. I still have a warranty and I'm sending it to repair now the 3rd time. They always return the phone back, after all the hassle sending it in ect., without any changes made. They try to do this until your warranty is over. I contacted the customer service explained that I always used Nokia phones, and they treat loyal customers like s...
Nokia update broke my phone, they won't pay to fix it
Nokia broke my phone with a bad software update and won't offer a free repair. It's a 5.3 running Android 12. There's a known issue where if you complete a standard reset it will 'brick' the phone and it can't be repaired.
Nokia acknowledge the issue and refuse to repair the phone as it's out of warranty. However this isn't a warranty issue, this is about an action they took which damaged my phone. They offered to repair it but not for free.
Search online for Nokia 5.3 bricked Android 12 and you'll see this is a widespread issue.
Here's their admission.
---
HMD are aware of an issue affecting a limited number of Nokia 5.3 devices after a factory reset on Android 12.
Our development team are aware of this issue and an update to resolve it will be delivered as soon as possible. In the meantime, users are advised not to perform a factory reset.
This issue is only affecting devices running on Android 12.

What ever you do DONT!!!!!
I made the mistake of buying a flip phone from Nokia which I decided to return straight away, it was a horrid cheap thing. This was 5 weeks ago and I have been trying to trigger the return process since then. Countless live chats with polite people with promises of escalation to return but they all have no intention of ever allowing me to return this phone for a refund. Its just plain theift and villainy. I curse the day I ever looked at this phone. Avoid at all costs!!!!!!!!!
This is verse phone I have ever used

This is absolutely the WORSE phone that I have owned. Literally from day 1this phone has been far less the acceptable. If I can keep anyone from buying one of the worthless, piece of garbage phones I DEFINITELY will. I've already warned ALL my friends and family that Nokia phones are the worst possible phone anyone could own. Shut Nokia down if this trash technology is all they offer. -1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 rating.👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎✊👎👎✊👎✊✊✊
Update - bad service - best avoided.
This is my second commentary on this product. As last reported, I was not pleased and it is simply because I rarely use the thing that I haven't got round to replacing it. A few days ago, it wouldn't send a text and kept coming up with a message about contacting the service provider. I spoke with them, and they told me that occasionally SIM cards fail and that they would send me another. Got this, installed and activated it. Still the same. Contacted Nokia on-line with one of those irritating on-screen message exchange things and to be fair they took me through a series of processes that did get it working again. However, it needed to be de-bugged and they kept asking me to tap on things that weren't there. I also asked them to resolve the memory issue - no success with that, either. All this took about two hours, the process is hopelessly slow and inefficient. And of course it shouldn't have stopped working in the first place. Where the issues were clearly quite complex, I asked for someone to call me on my landline as it would be easier and faster where they were asking for data that was too complex to sensibly type in, and kept coming up with a new respondent who had no idea what had been discussed so far. This they refused to do. So... I am left with something that doesn't work properly and with which I have little faith with little interest from the business to help. I'll be looking for Black Friday offers on Apple, given that if there is an issue, I can then go into a store and get it sorted. This product is unreliable, slow, difficult to use and has ineffective back-up. My best advice is that you give it a miss and save yourself the grief.
I bought a Nokia phone for old times…
I bought a Nokia phone for old times sake, Nokia was my first mobile many ears ago. I wanted a yellow phone as a spare phone and this did not live up to any expectations other than it was yellow. The buttons don't work to switch from one window to another properly and that's frustrating. Contacting the company who sold it was a nightmare as all that happened was it went around in circles . The company wanted me to snd screenshots off a phone that didn't work. A total waste of money ! Nokia 6310
Avoid Nokia Mobiles
I couldn't give less that 1 star or I would have. Don't be fooled by the slick advertising for the new Nokia G60. Mine is 8 weeks old and today decided it no longer wanted WiFi to work. Contacted support only to be sent some very generic troubleshooting. Followed what I could of that and still no WiFi. I was told I could return the phone for repair under warranty but I need it for work. I was then told to factory reset......but the phone has other ideas as it won't let me get to that option. Terrible device backed up by awful customer support. No wonder Nokia disappeared from the mobile world. They should have stayed disappeared!

Why isn't Nokia looking at these reviews!!! Obviously their products are defective. Jesus Christ. Does anyone know how to get in touch of the watchdog group. They need to see these comments.
Worst customer support on the planet !
I just talk and text only so I bought a Nokia 225 4g (a current model) for $50 (list price) on Amazon. 10 months into the 12 month warranty the Volte stopped working so I contacted Nokia. Their customer support's solution was for me to send them my phone, meaning I would be without a phone for weeks (maybe months?). I said "really? A giant company like Nokia won't replace a $50 phone that's under warranty?" Then they told me to contact the seller for replacement. Wow! With nothing to lose, I called Amazon. After I told the Amazon rep what Nokia said he refunded the purchase 10 months after I bought it (and told me to keep the phone!) so I could buy a new phone. I could buy another Nokia 225 4g and consider it a free replacement.....nah, not after they way they treated me. My new phone will be bought on Amazon for sure, but it won't be a Nokia !
