AVOID OR JUST BE VERY PRECAUTIOUS!

‪Long thread —I just picked up my car from @vauxhall @robinsandday on Staples corner NW2 1LY. My car was initially recalled for clutch issues but I was asked if I’d like the car inspected. I accepted and was later sent an email with a list of work needed and things that are fine‬.

I was quoted over £1300 for everything so I told them to do the service and I’d go to a normal mechanic as it’d be cheaper.
They agreed and I was called the next day to pick it up. I then told them to do the major works on the car as well as I couldn’t be bothered with all the hassle.

So the car was left with them for a little longer. Today, 27/03/2020 I went and picked up the car. Sat in it and there and behold, 3 long cracks on my windscreen.
I was absolutely livid but remained calm and explained to them, that they had damaged my car. At first I was calm until he began saying that maybe there was a small crack and this had developed.

May I just add, I’d cleaned the car the day before dropping it to them. There was no crack in the corner... I WOULD HAVE SEEN IT AND THEY WOULD HAVE SEEN IT TOO WHEN DOING THEIR CHECKS AND SENDING ME MY INVOICE.

Anyways, I then reminded him that I was sent an email, TWICE! Stating the work needed done and in that email, they listed that my wipers would need to be changed at a later date yet still no talk of 3 UNMISSABLE cracks.

I told him that I’d like to speak to a manager, he said he was the manager and then walked around my car looking at damages which I know I’d caused. I told him that I couldn’t believe that a ‘trusted and reliable’ business such as @vauxhall could do such a thing and lie about it.

Eventually he said I should go through my insurers and then he, @robinsandday would pay the excess. After making some phone calls I was told to ask him if he was accepting lability. He said no but would pay the excess.
(Sorry what? You didn’t do it but will pay?)

Anyways, I then told him I’d be posting this all over the net. He then began to secretly take pictures of the other damages to my car. When I confronted him, he said, very child-like, that if I post anything, he’d release pictures of my car. I told him that he could go ahead as they were small stupid things which I know I had caused myself. (Why he thought a silly threat like that would discourage me from exposing their carelessness, I don’t know!’

In the end he had nothing to say and walked into the shop and locked the door.
I call my insurers and filled them in. They were absolutely gobsmacked.

Im cutting a long story short here but in the end he signed a paper saying with no prejudice, AS A GOODWILL GESTURE, @vauxhall, @robinsandday would cover my excess.

As a goodwill gesture? You damage my car, refuse to take responsibility and then, as a goodwill gesture agree to pay my excess?
Why should I have to go through my insurers for something I didn’t do????

Is this right? Is this fair? Why do these big companies think they can get away with things like? This? It’s better to stick to small, local mechanics who actually care about their customers!!

Please help me by sharing!!! I hope this guy feels ashamed! Don’t allow yourself to be victimised/scammed, always fight back even if you don’t win!! Wrong is wrong full stop!!

@vauxhall I am shocked and saddened!! I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

I have pictures, emails etc regarding my car before, to prove the damage was done there and not by me!!

Another review from a previous customer…

Another review from a previous customer of former now Vauxhall, now called Go Vauxhall, my review is on behalf of my brother, after having his car serviced by Vauxhall at Staples Corner, tracking and new front tyres as additional work, after a couple of months he had a slow puncture as he thought so went to Kwik Fit to have it seen too, the Kwik fit fitter asked where he had the tyres fitted , tyres fitted to alloy wheel, the balance weights used were for steel rim wheels the clip on weights not the stick on weights specifically for alloy wheels, just another complaint about a Vauxhall dealer who employ ,I wont call them technicians, but inept fitters who it appears know nothing about tyre fitting and balancing, I really do not know how this particular Vauxhall dealer still has the Vauxhall name above its doors, Go Vauxhall or Now Vauxhall its still the same people servicing cars.

Now Vauxhall Staples Corner

Friendly staff but terrible after sales service. Having been mis sold a car and with mis advertised mileage, I have been trying to get a reply to my complaint for 5 months now. Promised phone calls have not materialised. Cannot be surprised in the slightest to hear they have gone into administration, but if the new ownership (Go Vauxhall) employ similar service standards then would not recommend them to anyone.

Very Disappointed!

Normally when having a service, especially a Major Service, a service only done by the main dealer they should be checking and changing everything. When booking the Major Service, I even asked what does it entail, and the Lady on the phone mentioned the check and change everything.

I was even sold on the Monthly payment Servicing Plan, where you pay a certain amount a month and they charge you less for parts and labour.

However, that is not the case!

After the Service and other changes made on the car, I notice the engine management light, so took it in for checking and turns out that something that was supposed to be checked on the service, they do not check at all. So then you ask, "what do they check?", and here's the answer, for the Full Major service, they do all the checks of the Intermittent Service and charge you Major service Prices. Confused yet? It baffled the hell out of me!

So I've cancelled my servicing plan with Vauxhall, and I have now started to do the work myself, I am not a Mechanic, but however, at least I have peace of mind that my car serviced and maintained, rather than being promised one thing and then doing something else.

Highly Disappointed!

highly recommend Now Vauxhall

I visited Now Vauxhall in Shaw at Swindon and met a very nice lady called Tasmin Orris-Bird. She was very helpful and polite. She sold me a Vauxhall Zafira which drives like a dream. Highly recommend them.

Worse customer service and …

Worse customer service and communication by any dealership i have ever visited. I gave my car for simple battery test they charged for an hour and didnt even have the proof for bad battery test result. They only then went on my request after i asked for evidence for battery health diagnostic, to get a battery tester from staples corner. The battery came out at good health yet they took my money and charged me an hour for nothing and kept my car for two days delaying me with all sorts of excuses and misinformation about the car starting and not starting. They then replaced my pollen filter assuming they did me a favour which i paid for, and made it out that what the diagnostic fee was for, the only silly gesture they made instead of refunding me they wash my car, which doesnt take the inconvience of not having a car for 2 days and loss of earnings. The service manager Monica and her traineee staff were rude and did not care or empathetic i would never recommened this garage to anyone they did not even provide a cover car or drop it off after.
