Worst Gas Company ever
Unbelievably bad company who treat their customers with contempt.
Waited 1hr20 minutes on phone - from 13th in the queue - which would indicate that they only have one person answering the phone, and was then told that an engineer would install a meter within 3 hours and that I should standby the phone. Suffice to say, no call, no engineer, no gas meter, no heating or hot water. Emailed them this morning - multiple recipients. Suffice to say - nothing. Diabolical. They shouldn't be allowed to trade.
Terrible company avoid
Terrible company, I moved away from them 27th July to Shell, they botched up the final Gas reading to Shell which has caused a massive overpayment with Shell on my opening bill. Shell said they have tried to dispute it but have had zero response from Npower. They are also holding credit balance and won't return it as they still haven't closed the Gas account. I have emailed constantly and get "sorry we have escalated to billing blah blah" but nothing ever comes back.
Totally shocking customer service
Totally shocking customer service - I entered the queue at #14 and it took 1hr 34mins for them to answer my call, just to make an adjustment to my Direct Debit which should be available as a standard change on their website......bunch of jokers and really don't deserve our business.
Terrible customer service
NPower Select are the worst company I've ever come across for Gas and Electric.
I switched to them under the promise of a smart meter as my last company was not offering them at the time.
Been with them 7 months now and had nothing but bad experiences. They massively overcharged me on my first bill and never acknowledged this. I was met with rude staff who would not help at all. I submitted a complaint and they hung up on me after telling them that I was recording the call. Claiming I had no legal right to do so!!
I want away from this supplier urgently and it is tempting to pay the £60 just to get away from them.

No Smart Meters, ever increasing bill, no way to check
I was with Ovo, but they became uncompetitive. Used the comparison websites, and chose npowerselect, thinking they were NPower, who I have used before. It was my opinion that 'I don't care who supplies it, they are all the same'. I have had to re-evaluate this, as I thought everyone would have Smart Meters now. I did(!) actually look at my usage (IMO absolutely rubbish that it changes anybody's usage habits), and so I was Very Annoyed to find that npowerselect only appear to use npower, and DON'T HAVE SMART METERS.
NB We are all paying increased bills to cover the installation of these things (worse still, the generation I had installed by OVO is no longer compatible ...what an incredible waste of OUR MONEY).
Anyway, I can't easily reach my meters (and they are much harder to read than dials), so I have not been providing reads. I have found that my predicted usage stayed at ~£120 all through the summer, when it should have been ~£90. I gave readings over the phone, and my bill was reduced to £90pm, but I only have 3 months until I can leave, meaning, I have been paying an increased bill, and can't check my actual historical usage.
Absolute shambles of a business
Absolute shambles of a business, I switched from Scottish power who took a final gas meter reading on my last day with them, Npower Select then decided to take it upon themselves to estimate my first gas meter reading without contacting me, the estimated meter reading was 800 units higher than my actual physical meter reading... this made making actual readings after my first estimated gas meter reading impossible... I am now still waiting for them to get there act together and alter the readings they have estimated so I can input the correct readings and this has been going on for over a month and they cannot seem to put it right, there contact with customers is terrible and they do not get back to you!
