We were given a Dodge Durango in Miami on June 13, instead of “full size” SUV we booked and paid for. It claimed it would be a Ford Expedition or Jeep Wagoneer or similar. They had no other choice f... See more

Scammers. Bait and switch scammers
I was forced to get an upgrade at holiday prices over Memorial Day weekend on Sat May 23. I was forced to get an upgrade due to an unacceptable supplier choice. They offered me an 8 passenger Mercedes Benz van stating that it was the only one available on
"suppliers Choice" inventory. I said that I am 77 years old and a single driver and I cannot drive an 8 passenger van on the highway
from Phoenix to Sedona, over 100 miles of highway driving. I drive a compact SUV and I would have accepted that or a sedan or even a pickup truck. This was completely unacceptable and it was unsafe to drive such a large vehicle. The rental agency was trying to scam me by using holiday weekend sales tactics and using a forced upgrade.
My research indicated that when the agency says "suppliers choice" they are contractually required to provide a vehicle that I can
reasonably drive. If the "only car" they have available in that category is a massive 8 passenger commercial van, they must switch me to a compact SUV or standard sedan and they are supposed to give me that free of charge because they ran out of appropriate
inventory. Instead, they took advantage of the busy holiday weekend traffic to pressure me into paying double.
In summary, this is what I have attached for documentation.
Thank you,
Mary Farrell

Scammed
Upon arrival the TV screen customer service told me that I had to pay extra insurance. Despite having my own full insurance and taking out insurance with Booking.com NuCar said it was "mandatory" that if I don't take out their insurance I won't be able to drive their car.
No mention of the extra insurance anywhere on Booking.com website, it is buried in their terms and conditions.
Be aware, they will pull your pants down, bend you over like a back street prostitute and not use any lube.
Shady and predatory business practices
Shady and predatory business practices
Was ~$200 when booking our 8 passenger van online. When we arrived, they said our booking was only for a 7 passenger van. Had to pay extra to upgrade to 8. In the end the total cost was ~$750.
Avoid this nightmare
Avoid this nightmare. The agents at the locations will quote one price. You'll return the car with this agreement. Then there will be additional charges. You'll call to contest them, only to be told by Lisa (the manager at the corporate office also handling customer service in this rinky-dink operation) will be agitated, telling you they will still charge you extra fees (while apologizing for their local agents' misinformation). Go to a reputable car rental. (Caveat emptor, "buyer beware.")
Good experience
I read reviews and did a bit of research, before renting a car. I called NU car, spoke to a very helpful representative. She helped me pick the right vehicle for my vacation. Arrived in Denver, shuttled to location. Picked up my SUV. Vehicle was great, exactly what I needed. Nu car was very transparent when I rented. Nothing was pushed on me at counter when I arrived. I explained I had my own insurance , signed, paid and was on my way. I would absolutely rent with NU car again.
I had a very bad experience and it…
I had a very bad experience and it continues to be extremely damaging to my life. I rented for three days a Nu Car Rental at Fort Lauderdale airport, at the site the charges where 6 times the price I was quoted, but the real issue was when I returned the car with a scratch i was responsible for and immediately handed the situation to my car insurance Nu Car deducted $4000 from my credit card without my authorization. My insurance got in contact immediately with Nu Car and paid them in full for the demages, an amount agreed by Nu Car. After six weeks my credit was finally refunded as Chase Saphire run an investigation, and on Friday the 12th of June I realized that Nu Car stole another $2000 from the same credit card. I only found out once I saw that my credit again significantly dropped. I will post every single day on numerous sites until Nu Car will refund me. Or I am getting ready to sue Nu Car. DO NOT RENT FROM THOSE CRIMINALS.
Extreme value with some aggravation
I have rented from NU three times and will be renting from them again at MCO. I give four stars because of the extreme value and I am frugal. Their rental cars can be $400-$800 less than the major companies. For this extreme value, I am willing to put up with some aggravation. Here's how to avoid it: 1. expect a wait of 30 minutes or more for the shuttle 2. bring a printed copy of proof of your car insurance coverage or have it ready to pull up on your phone when you get to the counter 3. Say no to the toll pass and then stay off the toll roads - this can be challenging but I've never had an unexpected toll fee 4. Say no to additional insurance if you don't need it - check your credit cards for primary (not secondary) liability coverage - AMEX gold has it and others. 5. expect a high deposit can't remember how much but in the hundreds 6. take your time to carefully inspect the car and report any damage. We have had no issues with NU and no ridiculously long counter waits. I have had longer counter waits when paying 4x as much.
I was forced to buy more insurance when…
I was forced to buy more insurance when I already purchased it and full coverage was not allowed to leave. Cost me an extra $300 on my trip. I could not leave because of how large my party was and no other car rentals around.
I wouldn't give any stars
I wouldn't give any stars. They have hidden fees. We paid with a credit card and when we returned the rental they stated because we paid with a debit card we ae going to charged. We have the paperwork that we paid with a credit card. They didn't understand that part.
Well.....over a month later we received a charge of over $500. This is definitely will be going to BBB.
Whatever you see for a price on a vehicle, its TOO good to be true. You will end up paying over what you could be renting from any other rental place.
Despite sending my insurance info over…
Despite sending my insurance info over 3 weeks in advance, I was told at the counter that it wasn’t accepted and my rental would cost double the amount quoted. The people behind me in line had the same experience and decided to go back to the airport to another rental agency. Unfortunately, my schedule didn’t allow for that especially since I had to wait at the rental office for an hour while the attendant had gone outside. Also, be careful to check the pick up time stated on the paperwork. Your rental is not for 24 hours from when you get your car, it’s from the reservation time. I did reach out to the company about these issues. I received no response from the local operator. I reached out to their corporate office and after 3 weeks the local operator finally responded to them. No refund, no apology, nothing. If you don’t care about the cost, I had a nice car but I could have gotten that at the airport instead of going offsite and having delays and a bad experience.
$309 Charged Despite Same-Day Cancellation
I booked a rental through Priceline and, after reading reviews about other customers' experiences, I became concerned about potential issues and decided to cancel the reservation the very same day I made it.
I never picked up the vehicle, never signed a rental agreement, and never used any services. Despite canceling almost immediately after booking, I later learned that the reservation was completely non-refundable and the entire $309.48 charge was kept.
I understand that these were the terms of the booking, but I was surprised that there was absolutely no grace period, no partial refund, and no consideration for a reservation that was canceled the same day it was made and never used.
My advice to anyone considering an Express Deal rental is to read every detail of the cancellation policy before booking. If you change your mind even a few hours later, you may lose the entire amount.
I can't believe these crooks are still…
I can't believe these crooks are still in business. AVOID THESE PEOPLE. HORRIBLE!!
Cannot reschedule if something goes wrong
Quickly after I booked my trip, my flight was moved up so I needed to reschedule my reservation to reflect the new change. I emailed them back when that was a thing you could do and they said I could not request if the trip was more than two weeks out (my trip was still a good 3 or so months out I would think the earlier you request the better). So I waited until two weeks out and I tried calling since I could no longer send a new email. They hung up on me after 10 minutes on hold so I responded to the old email instead. FOUR DAYS LATER, they said there are no earlier slots available (I WONDER WHY) and mistyped my information and request like they did not even know what my reservation was. Can't get a refund and can't even cancel on expedia. This company is a joke.
Don’t rent a car from this place
Don’t rent a car from this place. They charge me 678 in fees…. I’m disputing the charges but they are thieves and liars… stay away!!!🤥
SCAM ALERT
SCAM ALERT – DO NOT USE PLANETRENTAL OR NU CAR RENTALS IN MOROCCO
ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE – COMPLETE AND UTTER SCAM
I booked a car through PlanetRental with NU Car Rentals in Morocco. When I arrived – IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WITH A SMALL CHILD – the deposit price had SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED from what was originally agreed.
On top of that, the deposit WOULD NOT even go through. I was then told I had to pay an EXTRA €155 – ON TOP OF THE FULL HIRE COST I HAD ALREADY PAID.
THIS IS A TEXTBOOK BAIT-AND-SWITCH SCAM.
They left us with NO WHERE TO GO, in the middle of the night, with a child, knowing full well we had no choice but to pay or be stranded. They are NOT interested in service – only EXTRACTING MONEY.
IF YOU CANNOT HONOUR YOUR OWN PRICES, DO NOT LIST YOURSELF AS A PROVIDER. PERIOD.
DO NOT BOOK WITH PLANETRENTAL OR NU CAR RENTALS IN MOROCCO UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF, STRANDED, AND HUMILIATED.
I’m sharing this to warn others – PLEASE STAY AWAY AND SAVE YOUR FAMILY FROM THIS ORDEAL.
AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.
Why is it required to give them even…
Why is it required to give them even one star when it was the worst experience ever. Once you travel all the way across the United States and get to pick up the rental car. They stick you in a room with a monitor. No real human. Then they tell you they want a thousand dollar cash deposit after the rental is already paid for on a Credit Card. If that isn’t already horrific then they hold your money for five to ten days while they make capital gains off your money that they literally robbed from you. Never again. Worst scam ever.
Never rent from this company we booked…
Never rent from this company we booked it through our Travel portal through Capital one credit card. It ended up costing us twice as much as quoted. We got a flat tire and we're told that we were on our own at our own expense.
Never Again
A $100 reservation turned into an $800 bill with an unreal amount of non disclosed nonsense. Never again
Refund granted
My husband made a car reservation with Nu Car Rentals through Expedia and did not realize it was non- refundable and could not be cancelled. We realized almost immediately that he had made a mistake and we do not need this reservation. After several email to customer service we were granted a refund less a 10% service fee. We appreciated that they made an exception and grated the refund.
