Paris City Lights Tour

No response at all received to my complaint which I made in October 2024!

I booked this tour on the 23rd of August and I wish to make a complaint about my overall dissatisfaction with the experience.

Unfortunately I have been in hospital the past month so this is the first opportunity I’ve had to contact you.

The show itself was great and the champagne was lovely so I’m happy to pay for those, I worked out the estimated cost to be about £112.00.

But as for the £175.00 that I paid, this was to include a night lights tour, well of course I understand it’s not your company’s fault that the bus had to take a different route due to the preparation for Paralympics however that should have been made absolutely clear at point of sale.

The bus tour was an absolute shambles! It pretty much went round and round the same couple of roads and I had to put up with customers arguing loudly with the tour rep and with the tour rep arguing loudly with them back! I can understand why so many customers were complaining as they were being told that plans for drop off had changed. So it wasn’t exactly relaxing or informative, it just went round and couple of streets and I had to listen to arguing the whole time which was quite unprofessional.

However my main issue was that I specifically booked this tour because I’m a solo female traveller and so having this advertised as transport back to near my hotel in Montparnasse seemed ideal. On the night though, the tour rep informed me it wouldn’t be possible to drop me off near my hotel, I said please what am I supposed to do, it’s not safe for me to be left stranded.

The tour rep then showed me on a map where it was possible to drop me off and it was about a 15 minute walk from my hotel which by his own admission, would not be safe for a female to walk around in at 2/3am in the morning! He said well it’s either that or you can take a Metro from Pigalle station… I’ve since read some horror stories online of how unsafe this Metro station can be and all I can say is I am so relieved that I didn’t end up doing this.

I ended up ordering an Uber at the cost of £12.73 to myself, I’ve enclosed my card statement to show this. This is absolutely unacceptable that I had to do this, considering the tour was advertised as return transport included!

I actually ended up spending the duration of the show feeling really worried as to how I was going to get back so it ruined my enjoyment of it, it was a very distressing experience.

As you can see on my card statement I paid £175.80 for the tour. I’m not happy with this and I could have just claimed the full amount back from my credit card company but I wanted to give your company the opportunity to resolve my complaint.

How do you propose to resolve this? At the very least, I would like you to pay me back £63.00 as I’ve worked out the different between the show and the so-called bus tour and transport. Additionally, please pay me £12.73 to cover the cost of the Uber I had to use.

This as absolutely the worst bus tour…

This as absolutely the worst bus tour I’ve ever been on. The bus seats are so hard! You have to have your own phone and download an audio guide on your own phone, so if your low battery - it’s horrible. Also the audio guide is not in order and the bus guide lets you know on a microphone which number to listen to for a description and the audio guide is 60 seconds per location. Hardly any information. I didn’t really learn much and it was boring , most of the time you don’t hear anything . Prefer to do hop on or off or a video guide you listen to in your ear. Would not recommend !!!!

Extremely disappointing

I’ve travelled for many years and been on many trips, however this company used recently on a trip to Paris have been the worst travel excursion company I’ve ever used. This is the first time I’ve had to do a bad review but feel it’s important as we lost a lot of money and missed out on a much-anticipated trip that we’d worked hard to pay for.

We paid €390 for myself and best friend to enjoy in a full-day (9 hour) day trip to Giverny & Versailles, this was to include lunch, tours etc. Whilst leaving with plenty of time to get to the meeting point, unfortunately the metro we were on was delayed due to an issue on the line. We knew we would end up running late so got off at the next stop. After calling PCV I spoke with one of the reps & explained the situation and that we would get a taxi to get to the meeting point in Paris. The rep then said he’d get in touch to ask the party if they could hang off for 5/10 minutes which was greatly appreciated as we know this meant others having to wait. We waited but we then didn’t hear anything back, I then called back to find out what was happening and if we should still go but the boy said they’d waited on us then left which is perfectly reasonable . By this point we knew we missed the pick up and completely understood that they have a whole group of other tourists to keep on time.

We decided that we would get a taxi and meet them at Giverny, as this was the first stop of the tour, that way we would still join in with the rest of the tour (another 8 hours).

After calling the rep again he advised that we could not do this, I was rather surprised and was told it was because ‘the tour had started’ at which I explained we would be paying the taxi ourselves, making the same journey but just meeting them at the first place so we were only missing the initial bus journey. We were told again we couldn’t, I explained how expensive the trip was and asked why I couldn’t join in with a trip I’d spent so much money on. There was no appropriate or valid reason for why we couldn’t meet them, the tour started at Giverny anyway so it would be no extra hassle for the guides. Still an absolute no, at this point I was quite teary and upset at how unaccommodating they were being.

The rep then called back to say that we couldn’t go to Giverny but the group would meet us at Versailles at 11.30am, so we made our own way there via metro and were looking forward to getting into at least part of the tour and having lunch. We arrived at the gate we were told to go and as requested, took pictures of us at the gate to send to them so they’d recognise us.

At this point we were told to contact the company through WhatsApp.
We waited for over an hour for the group to arrive but no one arrived. I contacted them again and were told a guide would be with us soon. Nothing happened so I then looked for a PSV guide but she did not know anything about us or why we were there and had to go and find out what was happening.

Upon return she told us the group tour wouldn’t arrive at Versailles until 3pm and we’ve been given tickets to do the tour by ourselves. We’d been given the wrong information and I explained the situation to the tour guide/supervisor but she shrugged it off. The tickets were valued at 32 Euros each and she told us several times we should be thankful as they were a ‘gift’ At this point I was still in contact with an agent via WhatsApp who had poor customer service skills, was unhelpful and rude.

I’m extremely disappointed at the way this was handled, absolutely no flexibility from the company at all, no justification for not allowing us to join the tour we’d paid so much money for, giving us wrong information, poor customer service and not accepting any responsibility.

I twice requested details to contact a manager regarding this but with no success. The last correspondence from Paris City Vision told me to contact ‘Get Your Guide’ as I l’d booked the trip through them. Absolutely shocking that they’re attempting to lay this on them, all the other tours booked through Get Your Guide were fantastic! Anyway having being asked to communicate via WhatsApp proved helpful as I have the conversations saved. I plan on contacting Get Your Guide to see if they can liaise with PCV to help with getting some kind of refund or contacting a member of management at PCV.

An shambolic company with no customer service

This is an inefficient shambolic company. We purchased tickets for the d'Orsay and received a voucher which is NOT a ticket. A day and half previous to our visit, we contacted PCV which told us it would come by email the next day. By 4:30 p.m. the following day, no tickets. We asked our hotel for help and the story was there was internet problem but the tickets would arrive in the evening, which turned out to be 10:00 p.m! PCV provided no information that the voucher is NOT a ticket or what their processes are. Other companies send a real ticket upon payment. This museum was very high on our list to things to do during our few days in Paris. It was worrying that the tickets would not arrive and that we were being ripped off so it cast a shadow on our trip. In fact, it is doubtful the tickets would have arrived without the kind intervention of the hotel.

BEWARE OF RIP OFF FROM THIS COMPANYWe purchased tickets for the Orlay…

We purchased tickets for the Orlay museum and received a confirmation with the time of entry. No actual tickets were received but simply confirmation of the payment which we assumed was sufficient. However when we turned up at the museum the museum did not accept our receipt from Paris City Vision and said we would need to go to Paris City Vission to get actual tickets. So we ended up having to buy tickets again at the museum which were half the price of those sold by Paris City Vision. Thus company is a complete rip off and should be blacklisted.

Bus left 20 minutes late and when we…

Bus left 20 minutes late and when we got off the bus the line to gate A was not too long, but we were told to stay with the group to be walked over.. thinking a different entrance maybe? But no we were taken to the now very long line we were walking towards when it was short. The reason? To tell us to stay in line and proceed to gate A.. so 15 minutes in the line longer than required for information we received in the bus. We were told to be back at the drop off point by 11:45 to leave at 11:55 sharp and that if you wanted to stay longer you could catch the RER blah blah so everyone that came with us may not have returned with us.. were delighted to see the bus arrive at 11:45 with a new load of people.. but were not allowed to get back on The bus when it was empty.. we had to wait up a bit further.. then we were told at 11:55 the bus had to make a trip back around as “some people may not be here yet” given my previous comments how would they even know when all had arrived.. even though they said be on time we cannot wait.. but around the palace the bus went and we promptly got on at 12:15 pm and headed off again 20 minutes late.. they never did that head count to make sure “everyone” was there 🤦‍♀️ to make matters worse a tour guide from another of their buses.. the one we were incorrectly directed to in the morning and unceremoniously asked to get off to wait for the late arriving other bus, was mansplaining every thing that was happening to us and then ridiculously apologising saying sorry I have to leave.. it was just a shambles from beginning to end.. but.. Versailles is Magnifique

Chaotic and Disappointing Experience with Paris City Vision

I regret to inform others of the extremely disorganized and chaotic experience I had with Paris City Vision during our visit to Versailles Palace on 09/15/2023. The day started off on the wrong foot with the tour bus being over 20 minutes late for departure, disrupting our entire schedule. To add to the frustration, our guide was unprepared, lacking the necessary audio equipment, causing us to wait under the hot sun while she sorted it out.

The interior tour of the palace was tediously long, leaving us a meager 50 minutes to explore the iconic gardens. When we tried to clarify the departure time with the tour company via text, they incorrectly informed us it was 1450, contradicting the 1600 time stated on our voucher. This misinformation significantly cut short our garden visit to a mere 40 minutes.

Our attempts to communicate with the tour company were met with silence, as they ignored our messages and screenshots of the voucher, showcasing a high level of unprofessionalism and disregard for customer service. Moreover, the lack of information about our pickup time and meeting point was baffling. Our tour guide was clueless and assumed it was at 4pm. This lack of communication prevented us from enjoying the garden as we were left waiting for confirmation that never came.

The situation reached a peak of absurdity when we found ourselves on a random bus, clinging to the hope that it was the correct one. A staff member, identifiable only by a vest with the company’s name, provided no helpful guidance or explanation, simply instructing us to board the bus.

Overall, this experience with Paris City Vision was not only disappointing but also extremely stressful. Their disorganization and lack of communication turned what should have been a memorable visit into a series of frustrations and missed opportunities. I strongly advise against using their services for any tours.

NEVER USE THIS AGENCY!!

NEVER USE THIS AGENCY!!! We booked our Eiffel Tower tour for over 450 EUR in March. We arrived on 6th June and were told that the tour was cancelled due to a national strike which was already known about since May. Absolutely no email warning in advance and the hotline provided refused to give an immediate refund. It has now taken an entire month and endless emails to the CEO to finally get them to refund the amount owed. Sheer incompetence!

DISHONEST, DISGUSTING, DISGRACEFUL are a few words I’d use to describe this company.

I was visiting France for the first time from Australia with my 2 boys. We purchased 3 Disneyland Park with transport passes costing 468€ from Pariscityvison.

Unfortunately the service provided was not only inadequate, I am now out of pocket nearly 600€ and my boys and I lost hours of valuable time trying to contact someone from this company.

Due to the difficulty finding the designated meeting point for the transport, I made numerous attemps to notify customer service calling the number provided in the email (+33 6 14 96 42 81)to no avail. We also emailed them as instructed on their website but no reply. This was done with more than an hour in advance plus one of my boys speaks French.
100€ later spent on an Uber,(which we had to organise after this company did not reply to any of our repeated calls) and waiting outside the park for over 2 hours for our tickets which were included in the purchased package, is what myself and 2 sons experienced. Such a disappointing and sad time spent on our once in a life time trip to Disneyland Paris.
When I did finally reach someone on the phone, I was treated disrespectfully and then had to wait a further 10 minutes for my tickets to be emailed to me. By the time this happened there was a 60-80 minute wait for the rides. This limited what we had planned for the one day. This was the worst time we've had on our holiday.

I contacted this company in the hopes of partial remboursement (included in my email were screen shots of my attempted calls and emails)and waited over 3 weeks for a response stating that they will not refund any of our money.
SUCH A SCAM!!! Will never use them again or recommend them to anyone!!!!

What a useless lot

What a useless lot. When I booked the City tour and Moulin Rouge tickets I sent a mail as to where the seating in the theater would be. I never got a response.
When we started the city tour, the bus broke down within 50 meter from the starting point. They surely must have been aware beforehand that there was something wrong with the bus. We were transferred to another bus and went straight to the theater, wasting two hours of the eight that I had to spend in Paris. A very unapologetic guide promised the we would receive a refund. When I tried to claim my refund they were only prepared to pay 19 euro where the price of the tour is 29 euro. Needless to say, the seats that we were allocated in the end was right at the back of the theater

This place has bad reviews for a reason.

BOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK. I have never written a bad review in my life, but this place warrants it. This was an extremely scary experience that put a huge damper on my trip to Paris.

I booked a full day at Monet's Gardens, but they put me on a bus with people who had only booked a half-day. I was told halfway through the bus ride that I would need to find the second "afternoon" bus to get back to Paris. The tour guide gave me zero information on what the bus looked like, who the second guide would be, and didn't provide me with a name or phone number. She simply said "Just get here before 5:45pm and look around, you'll find it. The bus leaves at 5:45pm."

I waited in that parking lot from 5pm to 6pm - a full hour - and asked every single bus driver in the lot. Nobody was with Paris City Vision. I was completely alone 2 hours outside of Paris, and I kept calling their customer service line but nobody picked up. I texted their WhatsApp, but nobody answered. I tried to get in touch with the tour guide, but she didn't pick up either. Eventually I had to call an Uber, which cost me $140.

I've spoken to other people who've had similar experiences with Paris City Vision. Their customer service is virtually nonexistent, and you have to repeatedly call and email them over and over to even get a response. They finally looked into the situation and found that their tour guide had indeed given me the wrong time, but STILL refused to pay me back for my Uber. They essentially messed up on their end, I had to pay for it, and then they didn't absolutely nothing about it.

Again, have never written a bad review in my life. But there's a certain way to treat people, and this is not it. I've never felt so snubbed and disrespected by a company before. Again, book at your own risk - this isn't the first time someone has been stranded because of a mess-up on their end.

Never book this company

Never book this company, since l booked an excursion to Versaille, turned up on the day with voucher, booking number and they had the gall to turn around to say that my travel agent cancelled the booking even though he was the one that gave me the voucher. The guide told me that he can only take me if l paid him a second time otherwise they were leaving. l contacted my agent and he told me that was a lie. The company obviously wanted to get paid twice and just left me stranded with no options but to pay them. l have never dealt with such a dishonest and unprofessional company before. I am just warning you so that you don't find yourself in the same position.
