Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 110 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently arrived at reserved parking lots only to discover that the spaces were completely full, already sold out, or located much farther away from the actual venue than advertised. Many consumers also reported receiving completely incorrect addresses that directed them to entirely wrong areas or unsafe parts of town. People heavily struggled with unexpected service fees, extremely high rates, and parking payment systems that consistently failed to function properly. Furthermore, reviewers expressed deep frustration regarding unresponsive customer support teams and prolonged, unacceptable delays when attempting to secure refunds.

False advertising of 20% pre-buy

Never again. I would rather pay venue instead of Parkwhiz. Emails said 20% off pre-buying which I did- $55. Parking at the gate day of the concert was $55.
Made a complaint to parkwhiz after. They DID NOT acknowledge "day of concert gate price" and said I received my discount. 20% off $55 = $55...parkwhiz math.

Having used Parkwhiz numerous times but NO MORE

Having used Parkwhiz numerous times in past for parking with no hiccups, it is my go to method. NO MORE!!!
I reserved parking on 5Aug2024 for a Jaguars FB game 10Aug2024. I arrived at Arena parking garage 2 hrs prior to game time. Attendant attempted twice to scan my ticket (I retrieved via the app as instructed) it read as invalid! Attendant directed me to another scanning attendant same result. The gentleman said he had multiple other guests with same issue. I then had to drive around to find an open lot that would take CC as we came cashless due to online electronic transactions accepted at stadium. Finally found a kind lot that would take CC and parked. It felt sketchy but dont judge book by its cover. The car was there when we returned. I have tried numerous attempts to file a claim via the Parkwhiz app and online but it always dumps me out. I called their customer help line but it just disconnects....
out my 44.00 for secure parking etc.

ParkWhiz Reserved Parking

Read their web site. The following is printed there:

"Spot on! Your License Plate Secures Your Space"

"ParkWhiz is the number one place to find and book a guaranteed parking space before you reach your destination.""

"Parking spaces and passes are intended exclusively for those with reservations."

"YOUR SPACE IS WAITING"

"Even if the location appears full there are still spaces held for online reservations."

I made reservations for a Tigers game in Detroit and then someone told e about the reservation nonsense, so I called them. None of the above is true. The rep told me that reserving a space means you pre-paid it. ?? WHAT??!! Then try to cancel it....that's a real challenge.

The FTC just announced news that they are looking at "terms & conditions" that companies use to hide details. I plan to let the FTC know about this one as well.

TERRIBLE Customer Service

This company has the worst customer service I've ever experienced.

I booked parking with ParkWhiz for a concert next month. I was told the parking would be for 2 hours before and after the event. However, I found out that the arrival time was after the concert says we need to be in line.

No problem, right? I checked their site and there was parking in the lot I need for the time I need, perfect! However, the time slot I currently own is sold out so I can't just cancel and purchase an extended slot.

Obviously I could just buy the earlier slot since it's available and have both, but that's not an option. I either have to walk to the lot to check out manually and check back in (leaving the event to walk there) or I have to cancel parking and try my luck the day of the event.

No matter how many times I contact them trying to explain "I have a pass for the entire time slot I need," I am just told "please cancel your parking and purchase parking from a different location that isn't sold out" but all lots within like a 15-20 minute walk are sold out for the time slots I need.

Absolute horrible experience, you're better off reaching out to lots yourself or risking it the day-of than dealing with this scam of a company.

Ridiculous 24 hr parking…

Ridiculous 24 hr parking minimum/pricing. Tried getting at least a partial refund as I was only there for max of 2 minutes. After hounding them the best they said they could do is give me a $15 credit for next time. As if I will ever use them again.

Discount is BS!

Before I left on my trip I kept getting emails for the 20% discount if I used ParkWhiz before July 31. So I went on the app and booked my car. To make a long story very short I never received the 20% discount and I reached out to them over and over again and they claimed that I had to put in a code before I Finished the reservation. It did not tell me that in any of the information sent to me they certainly didn’t make that clear. I still have not received the 20% discount. I never would have used that app or parked where I parked if I wasn’t going to get the 20% off. I will never use them again!

Would give this ZERO if possible

Would give this ZERO if possible. Lot was completely full - there were many others driving around the lot having the same issue. I have the details of the reservation I paid for but to obtain a refund, I must provide a copy of the receipt from the lot I ended up using! How ridiculous! I don't have it because they didn't offer receipts - just gave a scribbled note on a piece of paper to put in window. What if I had parked on the street or not been able to attend the event at all because I couldn't find a place close enough to allow me to walk! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!

Poor communication and no assistance

My aunt and I attended a concert at the Enterprise Center and purchased parking to avoid having an issue at concert time. When we arrived the street with entrance to the lot was closed. I received an email AFTER I had already paid to park in an adjacent lot and was in the concert saying there was supposed to be an attendant flagging us into an alternate entrance-never saw that person. Trying to get a refund and they want a picture of the receipt from where we had to park -why? The point is I couldn’t park in the lot I paid for. We’ll see if I get my money back. I won’t be using Parking Whiz again.

Sent me to the WRONG venue address!

The ParkWhiz app sent me to the wrong location for a concert! On their app they had the wrong address for the concert venue, and said parking was only a 10 minute walk away from the venue. After I parked, I found out it was actually a 30 minute walk to the *correct* location. I then had to drive to the correct venue and pay for parking there (not through ParkWhiz this time). After the event was over, I tried emailing their customer service for a refund, where I was stuck in a frustrating cycle of them denying my claims. Even after giving proof of the correct location (ie: link to the venue’s website and a screenshot of the address on google search and a screenshot of the venue’s website about page) the customer service argued with me, claiming their information was indeed correct. I even sent proof, not once but twice, yet each time they denied that their app had incorrect information. They simply claimed that because I was still “able to park” at the location, I would not be getting a refund. They sent me to the complete wrong location, yet I still had to pay for it? I’m just glad I didn’t start walking to the address the app said the concert was, because I would have ended up at who knows what random building and I would have missed my concert completely. I’m just glad I knew the area, and immediately knew I was in the wrong location once I parked, but if someone from out of town had this happen, they would not be so lucky. All this to say, I will never be using this company ever again, especially after the awful customer service experience I had with them straight up denying all of my claims. They could have simply said they would double check addresses from now on and update that one immediately to make sure this wouldn’t happen again, but instead, I felt like I was being gaslighted by a company when all of my proof was correct.
EDIT: After 9 emails back and forth with their customer service—and giving different links and screenshots as proof every time—I finally got my refund. Even though they eventually gave me a refund, I should not have had to jump through so many hoops to prove I was correct. For that reason, I will not be using this company or parking app anymore.

Bought parking for a concert thru parkwhiz- Huge mistake!

Bought parking for a concert thru Ticketmaster and parkwhiz. Followed the Directions and parking QR was never “ready”. Got to the concert and couldn’t park! A friend in the car with my Purchased parking as I was talking to the parking attendant. Had a great time at the concert. I contacted Ticketmaster, they said contact parkwhiz. Spent two weeks emailing with customer service to be told sorry, not eligible for a refund because a passenger in my car purchased the new pass. What a waste of time and money. Next time I will park off site or use Uber if Parkwhiz is involved!!

ParkWhiz Equally Culpable

ParkWhiz acquired BestParking. My experience was with the BestParking app, but Parkwhiz is equally culpable.

Here is my experience. This company is run by fraudsters and is nothing more than a scam.

God help you if you have a customer service problem. Unlike a service like AirBnb, where they try to work with you in good faith to resolve a legitimate problem, the company does the vanishing act.

No one is available on the phone. The toll free number just disconnects you.

The regulators, such as the local parking authorities should shut this company down.

Great price, but difficult entrance

It was half the price of the main site parking lot and only diagonally across the event. It took us awhile to figure out how to get in the garage since the doors were down and we couldn't get in. I saw a few cars that were having this problem and just drove away.

Immediate credit for late cancellation due to weather,

I booked a parking space in Austin for Monday morning July 8, right when Hurricane Beryl struck. I was unable to drive to Austin and could not cancel my booking in time. Parkwhiz help gave me clear instructions on how to file a refund. I did. Parkwhiz honored the refund and gave me credit to use within 1 year. Very decent and professional action by Parkwhiz!

Totally disappointed. They totally ignored my valid claim

Ticket #325710
I want to warn companies and people to refrain from using this parking company and much less from paying in advance. I hired a service for a concert and they processed my claim, knowing that it was sufficiently justified. But they only managed to respond: Apologies but we do not process returns when the service is purchased through third parties. Totally unfair and I will make sure to warn other users in every way possible.

No spaces available for pre paid parking!!!

I booked parking online. ($20) When I arrived there was not any empty spaces. I drove around for 20 minutes. Someone left a while later and I quickly took that spot but only luckily. Others were looking for spaces. There should be available spots for booked ahead reservations. You shouldn't have to drive around for 20 minutes only to "luckily" find a spot. If this person hadn't left , I wouldn't have gotten a parking space. What does one do if you pay for parking ahead of time and there are no spaces? Do you refund $ if there are no parking spaces?Something needs to be rectified here From the parking lot's owner. Please advise.

No spot

Reserved a spot in a parking lot but when I arrived there were zero spots available. I attempted to book another spot, but there were not any lots open in the vicinity. I also tried to call parkwhiz with no answer and was only able to leave a voicemail (Which I still have not received a call back 2 weeks later). It took me 30 minutes to find a spot in a non Parkwhiz lot and I was then late to my event. I called parkwhiz and tried to address this with them, but their extremely poor customer service would instead like to lose a customer. They had no answers of what I was supposed to do in this scenario, but instead that they can't do anything for me. Parkwhiz made a bad partnership with an unreliable lot and it is their responsibility to take care of their customer. They offered no compensation for the additional $70 I had to pay for a last second lot. Go to their competitors SpotHero instead because parkwhiz doesn't care about you. Look at their overall review, clearly I'm not the only one who they decided to lose as a customer.

This company is setup to scam anyone that uses them for parking.
My experience was as bad as it could get the parking space that I reserved wasn't available when I got there no parking was available.
I tried to get in touch with them but the app didn't respond.
Finally I gave up but tried again later and had the same problem.
I sent in an email explaining what happened and got the run around and I was finally told that they would not refund my money because didn't cancel in time
Long story short after a few weeks of back and fourth I gave up and never got a refund.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP

I paid in advance for parking at the…

I paid in advance for parking at the 9th Street Garage. When I arrived the parking attendant said the app wasn't scanning and I would have to pay again. I showed them that I already paid, but they said Parkwhiz is a 3rd party company and I would have to submit a request for a refund. I did so and the auto email said await 3-5 business days for a decision. Krista Mae from the company reached out and requested I show proof of a bank statement that I paid for the parking. I submitted that as well. I have now waited 10 business days for a response including emailing Krista 4 times without response. This company doesn't care about customer service. Don't use this app!
