I hired an Electrician to wire the unit, but I plumbed the unit and we had it installed within a few hours.

The water was 76 degrees and it took the unit overnight to take it to 90 degrees. We have now found the best temperature for us, which is 88 degrees. The unit runs in the morning for a little while, then the sun takes over. By the end of the day, the water is 92 or so, when the outside temperature is in the high 90s.

We have not really noticed a price increase that would make us say anything, as it is in the range of last year's cost of power. We went with this unit because all of our friends bought gas heaters and they turn them off, as the cost of using them is crazy.

We don't intend to heat the pool in mid-winter, we just have a lot of shade in the backyard, and the water stays in the low high 70s to low 80s at best in the summer.

Asa was very helpful in getting me the right heat pump for a great price. It shipped drama free and I had it in just a couple days. It was a few months before I was ready to install and when I did it was low on refrigerant. Gulf Stream sent out a tech within a couple days and repaired it on their dime, even though they didn't have to since this was a DIY install. Very happy with both Asa @ poolheatpumps.com and Gulf Stream, a Florida company that stands behind their product.

I contacted them initially over a year ago and Asa was the person who replied to my inquiry and he was extremely helpful. We ended up not buying a heat pump last year so this year I replied to the old email and Asa answered within hours. I ordered through the website and everything was painless. The shipping terminal called me to schedule a delivery time and now I have a heated pool! I also needed some support after purchasing and again Asa replied promptly and was extremely helpful.
