horrible and disgusting bit...h and company

I would give a negative score if I could, what a terrible company and it hired horrible staff in the 5400 center at College Station General Service Complex. I attended my exam which I devoted so much effort, time, and money to it. I wore a mask, and the staff checked everything, including the mask. However, during the exam, I was so anxious and removed my mask and put it on the desk; however, a staff came in three times to interrupt my exam while the time was counting down, telling me a rule that "if you walk in with a mask you must wear a mask the whole time". I said I was anxious and could not breathe well with a mask. I was forced to either put on my mask or throw away my mask outside myself while the time still counting down. I was so mad and my body started shaking after running outside to throw away the mask. I made a complaint to the company, however, I did not hear anything back! Who made the rule that " if you wear a mask, you must wear it all the time even if you cannot breathe well", who made that anti-humanity rule, tell me! And if you had that type of rule why I was not informed while checking in?! What a bit..h, staff ID 5400-007, that interrupted my exam multiple times, and what a horrible and disgusting company just allowed this to happen and wasted the test-takers money, time, and effort for whatever important exam that they were attending.

Absolutely traumatizing!

Absolutely traumatizing!! While writing my exam at 83% done, because I looked away from the computer screen, it was decided I had a security issue. I had gone through all the security checks prior to writing the exam and was cleared. Without any explanation or further communication, my exam was placed on pause and I was not able to complete it. There is NO customer support! All I could get was the automated chat box, customer service to schedule an exam, or just phone ringing with no one answering. I have filed a complaint with BBB. This company should be sued and shut down. I have never experienced anything so unprofessional and chaotic in my life. I have a Bachelors and Masters degree from a university and invigilated many exams and NEVER have I seen a student kicked out of an exam for looking away. Please, someone needs to do right by all these people who have been exploited by Prometric!!!!

This company is a joke

This company is a joke. It is hard to believe that any employer would deal with them. There are not enough characters to articulate how many reasons this company should not be in business. Their information to log into the testing site is beyond poor and missing information. The proctor was late for the test by 40 minutes and therefore the login information was late. Then the proctor instructed that the television that was not on needed to be covered and asked where the cell phone was. The TV was covered and even though the phone was in a closed drawer it had to be moved to another room. When I completed these tasks I came back to take the test and the proctor was gone. I called ALL of the help numbers and it is only operational Monday through Friday and my test was on a Sunday night at 10:30 p.m. Then they put me as a no show even though I was signed in AND spoke to the proctor on camera! The proctor was a no show being over a half an hour late. Then Monday when I finally got through to someone they said that I was out of the system due to the "no show" and it would take five days to get a report. Why it would take five days to get a report is ridiculous. Then after they get the report it will take additional time, unknown by this company. I requested the call be escalated to which I was told there are two people that work in the office and the other person is not there. Seriously this really happened! So even though my employer needs this test out of the way so that I can start work, company feels they have the right to stall the process. The more I think about this, the more I think that the proctor did not want to work last evening. He was just gone within a few minutes of telling me to cover my television screen and move my cell phone. This company should be investigated.

LSAT Scheduling

I was scheduling a time to take my LSAT exam, I followed all the rules they had sent out, waited patiently in the queue and selected the time that I wanted to take my test. It didn't save. There was no indication that it was loading or anything. I didn't know what else to do, so I logged out. I called the next day because I was nervous that I hadn't gotten a confirmation email, they told me that I had not in fact scheduled a time which was utter bullcrap because I had and it's not my fault their system wasn't working. The only available times that day were either super early or super late which were not ideal, but I couldn't schedule a time for a different day because that queue hadn't opened yet. When it did open I called so that I could be sure my appointment time would stick and the rep hung up on me in the middle of my call. I had to call back, listen to the impossibly long automated voice telling me I should try to do what I was doing online (that obviously doesn't work), and then wait in a long queue AGAIN because they messed up AGAIN. I have a time scheduled but now I'm terrified about what's going to happen the day of the test because if it's anything like today my head might explode.

Aggressive Proctor screamed at me for nothing and 404 error

The test gave me a 404 error on the first launch. I closed and relaunched it without issue. Mid test the new proctor straight up screamed at me accusing me of putting something in my pocket… my shirt covered my pockets so that was literally impossible without a lot of obvious movements, all I did was adjusted my shirt around the lower rib area. Confused, I asked to stand to show him my pockets, waist band, and chair. Big shocker, nothing was there. I don’t know what he thought I could be putting in there. My phone was in the other room and I obviously can’t leave the seat after the desk/room scan. All I had was a laptop and ID. Because I used an external camera it had a wider angle; my arms were visible, my lap was visible, and my hands were visible. My guess is he wasn’t actually paying attention so he flipped out, afraid he missed something. I didn’t get an apology for the unfounded disruption, just an aggressive, ‘you may continue’. This threw me off of my test flow because for the rest of the test I was thinking about how insane his reaction was. I have slight test anxiety, who doesn’t, but that outburst really peaked it. Even after finishing when he gave me the next steps his voice was angry. Don’t need that in a testing environment. In the end I did well, powered by his spite for me, fueled by my disdain for him.

Also test in person if you have to do any kind of math. Scratch paper wasn’t allowed, at least for me and the online “note pad” they let you use is horrible for organizing equations.

LSAT is using them...what a shitshow

LSAT is using them...what a shitshow. Platform crashed in the middle of a section and lost 10 minutes, was told by the first proctor to exit the application during the intermission and reload...come back, have to go through the screening process again, and my entire time for break was used up. Was messaged several times per section to be asked "where my phone is," which was already handled before the test, completely breaking flow. Abysmal

Confusing and no customer support available

You sent me an email telling me how to get to the test center AND you included a remote testing system check link. I called you to clarify what's going on, but no one answered and no voice mail was available. I got online to request clarification and the chat bot said there is no chat support for test takers. You are wasting my time and causing me a lot of stress the day before my test. OK, since I can't get a Prometric staff person to tell me what to do, I will bring my computer to the test center and you better give me a locker to store it if I don't need it because I'm not leaving it in my hot car for 3 hours.

For online test takers

For online test takers: The proctor people have accent and its super hard to understand them. It looks like Prometric subcontractor to people in third world countries or something. Also, the proctor people will make you do some dumb stuffs like: doesnt matter how big your room/hall/auditorium is, they will make you cover every single things that has screen even though it is 1000 ft from you. This is the worst online proctor service ever

Prometric is a fraud!

How is it possible that this company still exists when there are so many complaints? I waited for more than 30 minutes for the proctor. When I showed my room where I'm taking the test the proctor told me I cannot take the test since the room has a window. Really!!! I asked for a number to contact customer service he gave me the wrong number. I asked for an email address to address my concern he gave me a website. They have no customer service, how on earth is this company still in business?? They take money from people and not giving the service. I lost my money now twice with this company!

The WORST location for testing…

The WORST location for testing (Hyattsville, MD). Received confirmation of testing weeks ago to only receive a call the day before saying I’m not showing up in their system. We somehow get that ironed out over the phone and on day of testing, the test center informs me that I’m not in their system for testing. HORRIBLE wait time as we go through the process of not knowing if I would be able to test, to having the test sent over because they somehow didn’t receive it. Started an hour late for a 5 hour test! Once testing complete, the score shows on the screen but the test center informs me that they can’t see the results and continues to inform me that I may have to retest if they can’t see the results!! RUN FROM THIS PLACE!!

This is the second time I tried using…

This is the second time I tried using Prometric's Proproctor with no success.

The online chat support staff were kind enough and somewhat helpful.

However, the system checks are not accurate. My camera worked to take a photo of myself and my ID, worked for me in the proctored exam but not for the proctor. I spent 6 hours trying to troubleshoot the software issues with two IT teams, a security team and still no luck.

I have tried using different computers, different networks, disabling firewalls, using admin access, etc., etc.

Each time an exam is missed it costs a lot of money (half of the course itself) and I can no longer afford to attempt using this service.

The Prometric staff were unable to support me with regards to ensuring I do not receive financial penalties for the inability to use the software.

Only giving 1 start because 0 isn't an…

Only giving 1 start because 0 isn't an option. I was supposed to take my LSAT exam remotely and was unable to even start the test due to Prometric's multitude of failures.

1) The test scheduling system was broken and left me feeling like I'm trying to be caller #9 dialing into a radio station to win concert tickets. Log in, pick date range and the result is NO AVAILABILITY for an online remotely proctored test. 2 hours later of refreshing the browser to get a start time.

2) That start time became completely irrelevant on test day. After completing their system check steps 48 hours in advance as instructed with all items checking out as good, I was still unable to connect to the test system for almost 45 minutes.

3) Once connected, it took another 2 hours for the 'readiness proctor' to appear for the initial security check.

4) The readiness proctor was completely untrained. They were unaware of both their own rules and LSAC's rules (which supersede Prometric's). I was made to remove items that had no relevance to anything (like the cat toy in my kitchen across the room on the floor) and was not allowed to have my cough drops (already unwrapped as directed on the list of items that are approved)

5) Finally I was cleared to move forward to the testing proctor. Another wait, not as long, but still yet more time (when you haven't been able to have a drink of water, stand up, leave the camera screen or use the bathroom in almost 3 hours before the start of a ~3 hr test...). Then, when the proctor arrived their UI went crazy with a flashing popup you couldn't dismiss that flashed every 1-2 seconds. At that point I was forced to decide to exit the system and filed a complaint with LSAC regarding the testing because the on-screen strobe light guaranteed that I was not going to be able to do the test at anywhere near an acceptable performance level.

This is an exam that determines if an applicant can go to law school and how much money they will be offered in scholarships where the annual cost of attendance could be $100K. This test is literally life-changing.

The level of disregard for test takers that was displayed due to poor staffing, training and technology support is absolutely unacceptable. The message sent out following the world-wide failure was that Prometric had been unprepared to handle the volume of test takers, which is clearly true but also not a passsible excuse as 1) the level of test takers is established by reviewing recent test administration participation and 2) was finalized in June when registrations for the August exam were closed.

90 minutes of silence with no proctor

I waited for an hour and a half past my appointment time for no proctor. I did a room check 35 minutes late, had a proctor chat me and ask if I had started, and then never heard from anyone again. I sat in a room by myself for over 90 minutes waiting to start the most important test of my life only to have no one ever administer it to me.

SO bad

SO bad. Why does everyone hire this company? Borderline (or outright) hostile to anyone who seeks support for the MANY issues that come up. Proctors never showing up, leaving halfway through, accusing you of cheating or breaking the rules, system malfunctions, program bugs, etc. These issues have been recurring for Prometric for at least 5 years... why in gods name are they still in business without fixing anything?

Run. Fast.

The process of waiting for a proctor, trying to complete the security check with the proctor, then waiting for 2 hours in an online chat queue (because their phone number kept going straight to voicemail) to try to re-access my LSAT after the proctor concluded it before it even started all took longer than my actual test was supposed to take. The test I couldn’t take. And now have to reschedule. To the weekend of a wedding I had planned to attend for 1.5 years. Worst experience with any service in my life. It’s honestly incredible (for all the wrong reasons) how unorganized and unprofessional they were.

Online Law School Admission Test with Prometric

I took the LSAT remotely with Prometric on Saturday 12 August, 2023. It was not good, and technical issues occurred throughout the exam.

My exam was scheduled at 8am, with me getting to the laptop at 7.30am to prepare and check in. Prometric seems to have outsourced most of its remote employees to overseas / people in different time zones; I had to do three security check ins, each one being administered by a different person. The upside of this was that proctors / security officers just stopped caring as time progressed; the first person was really thorough and even asked me to remove the posters from my wall, but once I got disconnected the second time people where satisfied when I just waved my webcam around for a minute to check in.

Technical issues: During the second section, I got disconnected from my proctor the first time, at which point at least five different proctors started yelling at me without stopping my timer. It was like I imagine having schizophrenia is like, just a bunch of different voices consistently yelling at me ‘HELLOO???’ ‘CAN YOU HEAR ME????.’ It took several minutes to stop this and to even get people to stop the timer. All this during a test section that I perceived as both difficult and non-experimental. Second disconnect happened during the break, when my proctors could not see me and I again had to restart.

My estimate is that I dealt with 6 to 10 different proctors over the course of the exam, plus the three security check ins / room scans. Overall exam took at least two hours longer than it should have, due to the repeated interruptions and disconnects.

Filed a complaint / requested a retake, but I honestly do not think that Prometric can solve the significant technical issues they’re having any time soon. Their business model seems to be to outsource the proctoring as much as possible to call centers on other continents; I don’t see how the technical side of this could possibly be fixed in the near term.

Respectful advice: Avoid this company if at all possible, their proctoring system presently just is not functional.
