I took my car into chippenham i was…

I took my car into chippenham i was very impressed with Luke who helped me with my car and was very knowledgeable about every thing i asked about the car and he explained everything to me in a way i could understand it ... since then i have taken my car back to chippenham a few times purely because of the service i got from Luke everytime i visited chippenham ( i did not realise i could write on here and leave a review and have just found out i could do this )

Feedback

No phone call to say car
ready, although they said they would and took phone number.
No explanation about advisories after MOT.
But good system for booking MOT and service.

Very fast and efficient service

Very fast and efficient service. Did my MOT immediately and on time (in fact I arrived early and they did it straight away) with no holdups. The car failed it's MOT on bushes and needed new tyres. Despite it being 5pm by then, these were ordered and fitted by lunchtime next day. Very impressed with the service, will definitely use again.

Usually great, but not this time

Booked for 1pm - arrived to be told 4pm, only earlier appointment was 3pm.

Asked if I could pay over the phone before coming in, told no. Then found I could book online and pay, and there was an earlier timeslot available!

Seems therefore that whomever I dealt with was as sharp as their tyres!

Poor Service and No Accountability

I booked an air conditioning regas with Protyre.

During the appointment, I was informed that an error had occurred during the regas process and that the machine had reported a failure on the low-pressure side of the system. I was also told that all of the refrigerant needed to be removed.

I arranged for the vehicle to be inspected elsewhere. I initially received advice that there appeared to be a blockage on the low-pressure side, which was believed to be linked to the failed regas attempt.

When I contacted the Protyre branch to explain the situation and requested that the issue be rectified, I was told that I would need to pay for a further diagnostic assessment. Given that the air conditioning was working before the regas attempt and the fault only appeared during and after the work carried out by Protyre, I found this response unacceptable.

To obtain an independent opinion, I subsequently took the vehicle to an air conditioning specialist for a full diagnostic assessment. Their testing found no fault with the air conditioning system itself. They also advised that they had seen other customers experiencing similar issues following visits to Protyre.

My main concern is not simply that a problem occurred, but that there appeared to be no willingness to investigate or resolve the issue without asking me to incur additional costs. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Protyre for air conditioning servicing.
