The Exeter bishops court
The Exeter bishops court, is really good but the one in town, not so great, always packed with people, hard to get on a machine and the changing room doesn’t have changing booths. The bishops court one though is perfect, it gets popular too but it’s bigger so it just handles it without too much trouble, although their aircon is leaking all over the place. Otherwise is a really handy gym.

If you have any further concerns, it would really help us if you could get in touch directly with the Gym Manager to provide more information (such as dates and times etc.) so this can be investigated in full and looked further into. Joined PureGym before so this was more of a resigning up than anything but I’m not a fan of paying a £15 joining fee, I know there are months that they have deals on with £0 joining fee but that wasn’t when I was signing up and I didn’t want to put it off any further.

Took my money but didn’t restart my membership!
I restarted my membership with PureGym on the app after a year. I paid my sign up fee of £15 and £21 for the membership which went through immediately. And now the app is simply displaying ‘restart your membership’ and asking me to pay again! Absolutely pathetic and after restarting the app, nothing has changed.

Gym equipment good and varied though…
Gym equipment good and varied though looking a little tired now and stations are sometimes ooo. Hogging is a factor particularly at busy times, people sit at the stations on their phones annoyingly. Cleanliness is poor and rarely see anyone cleaning particularly the showers which are never cleaned it seams, absolutely heaving and is you splash water up against the doors it dislodges thick scum that absolute stinks. A place this size, it is very big, needs a full time cleaner with proper equipment and products as well as proper training. Only once in the years I’ve been coming here, I know but it is very cheap and accessible, have I seen anyone cleaning the showers with cleaning product, I think central office management may have been visiting. Currently the showers have black rings that have been there nearly a week. I go to the gym random days at random times between 0700 & 2200, as my schedule permits and I see little evidence of any cleaning having taken place.

Denied access for no reason
Denied access for no reason. It was my only day off and it was very important for me to exercise as I go on two weeks time on hiking trip to Everest.
Very slow response.
Tried to ask for help of their PT , absolute rubbish , all about money .
Nice gym inside but service is absolute rubbish

Reasonable members prices
Very large gym with plenty of equipment to use . I like that there are a lot of people from all walks of life and ages . Staff are very approachable. Reasonable monthly membership charge

The car park is operated by a third party company in which we do not have any affiliation with. Therefore, we are unfortunately unable to cancel such tickets. Information regarding parking is available on the home page of any PureGym which offers parking. The correct parking procedures must be followed, to avoid a parking ticket. We would always advise that you appeal the fine and explain the circumstances. If you get in touch with Member Services, we can also provide you with an appeal document which will be an official letter from PureGym Head Office, stating that you are a member of PureGym and your attendance log for the date in question, will also be provided as proof to show you were in the gym. If your appeal is rejected, we would suggest submitting a case with POPLA. POPLA are an independent appeals process which works with the Ombudsman Service. They investigate whether this fine was issued correctly in accordance with the terms and condition of the car park; whilst reviewing evidence provided in the appeal. On the rejection notice, there should be a 10-digit verification code, and you will then be able to submit an appeal with POPLA via their website: http://www.popla.co.uk/poplaappealprocess. Although we cannot guarantee they will cancel the fine, we do hope for a positive outcome. Thanks, PureGym.

It’s always too busy now and the automatic doors are constantly not working properly, takes time to get in and out of the gym and they have been like that for weeks now

Is anyone looking after that gym???!!
Gym for last while is messy, hair dust everywhere, dirty toilets with pee all over seats. Equipment… not maintained regularly (today at least 3 things out of order and probably another quiet few making weird noises or not working as smooth as should). I’m paying for the most expensive membership and would like to be able to use it but flavoured water is actually not flavoured as syrups are not being checked or changed regularly today 3 flavours that I have tried were gone and didn’t manage to try anymore due to 30 min break time between pouring you need to take…..
What can I say more? It was great gym when I first joined but now it is going downhill

Big gym but not a great hygiene
I like that the gym is very big but there is a lack of hygiene access to clean the machines, where everybody sits sweaty and without cleaning. there is just a station downstairs but is quite uncomfortable to clean , especially if you are upstairs. And also the machines are not very good for short persons like me, as they don't have the adjustable backs and seats so I felt uncomfortable doing the exercises.
