I’ve been a member of this gym for a while but I wanted to give praise to PT Gemma. This mornings pump class was cancelled due to a speaker being broken but she got in contact with some regulars and said she would adapt the class and do circuits instead.
She went above and beyond to ensure we still got a workout.
She’s always so friendly and her classes are great xxx

Great Little Gym Gemma was wonderful!
Gemma at the Hemel Hempstead branch explained everything to me very well and took her time answering what ever concerns I had, she made me feel very comfortable and at ease as it’s 40yrs that I haven’t been to a gym and felt a bit overwhelmed!
Easy to use with app, great range of equipment for everything you want to work on, Very Clean, very competitively priced, I went in at 4pm on a Monday and it wasn’t over busy with a good mix of different age groups, lots of classes going on if you want to join in or just do your own thing and the trainers are there if you need any help, really enjoyed my first session very much + the parking is included in the monthly membership which is great!

My experience with Cam (Camil Ait Si Brahim) has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. Within just one month of training, he cancelled six booked sessions, each time with a different excuse. He repeatedly rearranged or canceled at short notice, and at times completely ignored my messages and calls.
Despite paying for these sessions, he is now refusing both to conduct them and to issue a refund. This is highly unprofessional and shows a complete lack of respect for clients’ time and money.
I strongly advise anyone considering training with him to stay away, unless you want to be left out of pocket and without the service you paid for!
Please note this has nothing to do with Pure Gym itself.

Joining the gym
The process to become a member was simple to follow. It took a few minutes.
Then after joining the personalised pin for gym entry was sent. I liked the short welcome video. Looking forward to using the facilities.

Great value for money
I have been a member of PureGym for over 8 years now and for 4 years at Hemel. It's value for money with good range of equipment amd facilities. Does get busy in evenings but that's the case in most gyms anyway. I haven't done much classes but can see there are plenty options that can booked directly from the app and my wife does some of those. Trainers are friendly and I am currently training with Henry who is great and I would highly recommend.

PT Henry 10/10
I’ve been training with Henry for about five months now, and the progress has been amazing. I started seeing noticeable glute growth within just two months, and I’ve continued improving ever since. He’s always so positive, encouraging, and motivating, which makes every session enjoyable and keeps me pushing toward my goals. He genuinely cares about his clients and knows how to challenge you while keeping things fun. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great trainer.

They make it hard to cancel your…
They make it hard to cancel your membership leading you to debit cancel with your bank which will affect your credit score.
I haven't used the gym in the passed 3 months so when I just receive my salary I realise I cannot afford anymore as I'm currently student. I tried to cancel my membership from the app but lead me to another and another page, there is no button. Then I found out you have to cancel 4 days before payment date and I was 3 days only. I send them an email to kindly request canceling but I just received an automatical email telling me to wait after my payment or cancel the direct debit with my bank.

Members are able to cancel their memberships anytime or freeze their membership for up to 3 months (in a 12 month period), via the PureGym app or website, on the members area; as mentioned in our terms conditions, cancellations must be actioned 4 working days before the next payment is due: https://www.puregym.com/help-centre/freezing-or-ending/how-do-i-cancel-my-direct-debit-monthly-membership/.
The direct debit can also be cancelled directly with your bank. Please note this will not affect your credit score.
If you do have any further queries regarding cancelling your membership please reply to the automated email received and you will be added into the queue to speak to one of our advisers as soon as possible.

I booked a pass the evening before and couldn’t get access. I did ask for it for the following day but that didn’t register. I did get in thanks to your emergency support but it was a hassle at 7am in the morning

Training with Henry
I’ve been training with Henry for 3 months now and couldn’t fault him! He makes every session enjoyable and always pushes me to my full potential. Alongside training, he’s given me nutritional advice and really helped me to feel comfortable in a new gym. Highly recommended Henry to anyone looking to start with a PT

Mobility with Henry…. Amazing!
Henry is fantastic!
Following a scary incident with my health, I had to take a break from training.
On my return, I booked mobility sessions with Henry…. Incredible!
Henry is encouraging and supportive in his approach… and really knows his stuff.
I left these sessions feeling not only physically more able, but mentally too…. My confidence is back and I’m ready to train again.

Overcrowded - not enough equipment
There are too many members at this gym and not enough equipment. There are only 2 smith machines which everyone wants to use. I end up coming home early a lot of the time because it’s pointless - there is nothing to use. The spinning class also plays music extremely loud in the gym area, which means you can’t listen to your own music and hear the trainer shouting every 5 seconds. There is a separate room so I don’t know why they don’t just use that

Our gyms are indeed very popular and so can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate throughout the day. Members can also use the members area via the PureGym app or website to see how many people are in the gym.
Please also feel free to ask to switch in with a member while they rest between sets, this can also help you keep an even pace between sets. Thanks, PureGym.
