Rude and poorly organised
First time for me to use since joining. I started my routine doing 3km on rower. All of a sudden 10 people are in front of the machine set up some sort of class. Half way through my row I was told I had to get off as it's being used for a class, I said when, and he replied now. It completely threw me! I moved upstairs to see if there was another rower but there isn't. However there is a studio empty here up stairs which surely should be used for classes instead of making a quarter of the gym unacceptable

Noise and olfactory pollution!
Was reasonably happy with the gym, even though the place has no windows upstairs and apparatus is pretty basic, but a few issues meant I cancelled my membership and signed up to a rival (snapfitness) today. One issue was the dreadful smell in the men's changing rooms. The open plan design and lack of extractor fans meant that when somebody used the toilet, the whole room would stink of faeces. Urgh. The other main issue, which was a killer for me was the classes and the noise level. Screaming instructors and music turned up to 11. It seems a handful of people in a class take over the entire gym. It ruined a number of workouts for me and I walked out after 10 minutes today. I had already raised these issues with the manager, who said he would talk to the instructors. No change. Enough.

Love the classes
Love the classes, instructors are all fab, particularly like Cameron, Flyn and Ivy’s classes. Gets me moving and doing things I never thought I would like pull ups. Staff are always willing to help

What made my experience with puregym…
What made my experience with puregym has been amazing,it goes from the PTs being incredibly supportive and nice to other people helping you on the machines when you don’t have to a clue what your doing! I’ve only been going for a few weeks but this place is amazing!

Pure gym membership
I signed up to pure gym
Just required access for the lift to use the machines which are upstairs as I have had knees and stairs are difficult! cane back told me I needed an induction as it assumed I was wheelchair user tried to book an induction told me I didn’t need one tried to use my pin wouldn’t let me , daughter spoke to person in gym they assess me and let me in wouldn’t Kat me use my pin to use the lift to come back down ! Then had a message telling me my membership has been suspended tried to contact said reply within 12hrs 28hrs later still no reply not a very good service !

experience from the gym
I am very happy with my experience from the gym. I enjoy the classes most of all, this is where I get most out of the gym. I also have pt sessions with Kristian who is very knowledgable at what he is teaching me. Very easy to get along with

Great value for excellent gym
It has everything you need for any routine you may be doing. Great staff, clean and not overcrowded. The other members are kind and supportive. Overall great atmosphere and availability. Personal trainers are great and a lot of decent classes available. The only draw back can be parking at certain times of the week and day because it’s in a retail park but it’s not an obstacle faced often.

Not disabled friendly
I recently used this gym as a new wheelchair user, but unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of awful. From the moment I arrived, the disabled lift wasn’t working. When I entered the pin, the door wouldn’t open. I asked the only staff member downstairs for help, and his response was, “I’m with a client, can you ask the guy upstairs?” Thankfully, his client insisted he help me, and he eventually opened the lift using his own code.
The lift itself is extremely difficult for a wheelchair user to operate alone, and I had to ask for help to get back down, as once again, my pin code didn’t work. To make matters worse, the toilet is upstairs, so I had to go through the whole process a second time. This gym is absolutely not accessible for disabled people—during unstaffed hours, a wheelchair user wouldn’t even be able to access the toilet! Other PTs helped me by using their own code to make the lift work but were laughing about the fact that it isn’t fit for purpose, as the door is so heavy that I couldn’t open it myself. They didn’t seem to understand why the lift wouldn’t work with my pin code.
After this humiliating experience, my partner emailed head office. They responded by saying I needed an induction to use the lift, which I’m happy to do. However, when I contacted the Llantrisant branch to schedule an induction after 5pm (as I work 9-5), I was told it had to be before 4pm since managers aren’t available after 5pm. If I wanted a weekend induction, I’d have to wait for a distant future date.
I’m really upset and embarrassed by this whole situation. This gym is far from accessible, and I wouldn’t recommend it to any disabled person. A truly terrible experience.

So easy to set up
So easy to set up. Went to local pure gym to have a look and we was so welcomed by manager, he explained everything clearly and how it all works. We felt listened too and this made the world of difference on making our decision to join. Joined up as a couple.
