1. Equipment is old and take weeks to be fixed at Acton /Park Royal Leisure Park
2. 45 degrees leg press would be fantastic. As mentioned the equipment is outdated….
3. Ventilation upstairs is non existent.
A few people have a lot of garlic the night before and come for a session the rest of the clients nearly pass out from the stench. Same if a client hasn’t washed their clothes.

Great PureGym branch. Always very clean on the gym floor, and all the equipment is in good nick. The ladies' changing room has had issues with hot water recently, but the problem gets sorted quickly. It's never been crowded whilst I'm there, so I can always workout seamlessly. Happy to recommend.

Love the Pure Gym in Acton because of the nice people, friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

I recently joined this gym as it's advertised opening hours were opening at 6am. I went to the gym at 6am on 3rd July and waited for 15 mins the gym was shut.
I will be looking for a refund as totally misled into joining over false opening hours

The gym is quite centrally located so it’s easily walkable for me and very easy to find (it’s on the roadside) so that’s good.
I like the variety of equipment as well. They got the obvious treadmills and cross trainer which is great but the gym is quite big enough to have like a rowing machine and those stationary bikes which I prefer using. They also have the equipment to help build muscle but I haven’t yet gotten to try them out as there’s always someone on them so I won’t be able to comment on it.
I have tried some strength classes and those were very good (the instructor is actually very demanding, which I like for a good workout but in case it isn’t for others, I though I’d mention it).
I really love the gym classes that they have. I think there’s a good amount of them running during the day, however, if I had a slight complaint, I’d say there’s sometimes a bit of confusion during bank holidays if the classes will go ahead. Some do some don’t and you don’t really find out until the day So maybe a heads up for things like that would be great.
There’s sanitary stations in the gym so that’s cool, however, on of them looks quite old so I think it should be replaced, perhaps.
I pay £24.99 which I think is a good price for the gym. I mainly got the option because I tend to go to the gym either quite early or quite late and occasionally during peak hours so i like knowing whenever I have time in my day to go I can.
I believe my subscription gives me access to Acton and Park Royal PureGyms as well, so that’s a nice bonus.
The app is also easy to use. It’s labelled nicely so you can tel where you are where to find classes and also to track your workout activity (although it’s a very basic form of it, you see your workout history, achievements, streaks and workout time but that’s about it). I like that there’s digital workouts on there which I think is useful if you want to do yoga at home.
Overall, I do think it’s a very good service for the price save for a few minor things highlighted. I’m not sure if it’ll be the same for all gyms across the country but I’ll say it’s worth trying out.

How is it possible that the only bench press in the gym is been broken for at list 5 months! This is ridiculous!

Reply from PureGym UK - London Acton
There’s a good range of equipment, however for me it’s all about the classes. The SWEAT and Legs, Bums and Tums classes are excellent (if sessions could be added for each day- it would be GREAT).
As with most gyms, you are going to get the busy/popular times but I’ve found the mornings through to early afternoon the sweet spot.
Best instructors (thus far) have been Gomes, Rhian and Samera.
Areas for improvement- ladies toilets (drains stink); more foam rollers and stretching equipment; good to have a sports massage person visit on certain days.
Overall, for the price, this place is excellent.

The stench in the men's toilets really makes me sick. It's foul. No other gym I've been to smells so bad. And I've been to a few. Apart from that, I think the gym is great in all aspects.

It is ridiculous to just leave equipment broken for months on end. The bench press (of which there is only one) has been broken since the new year (4 months now) and likely will not be fixed for another 6. Other equipment is also fraying or breaking down. Surely, if your supplier cannot supply you can source from a 3rd party. This is insulting to both the membership and the PT's who have also demanded the equipment be fixed. I hear the management has time to call meetings on gender neutral toilet use, but has no time to put workout equipment in a GYM!? Regardless, there should not just be 1 bench in a large gym. How can you raise membership prices and PT rent with inflation but not be bothered to fix equipment and support your hardworking staff and membership that pay for your business model? If there was a rival in the immediate area, the gym would be finished. Puregym Head office should be ashamed of itself.

Giving this gym 3 stars as there's only one power rack in the whole gym, it's almost impossible to get on as it's always occupied. The bench press has been broken for over a month, it still has black and yellow tape around it and also the seat is broken on the back machine, cannot adjust the height. Please have these fixed.

Gym classes are really good however when they get cancelled there is no communication. There had been three occasions when I had turned up to the class only to find out that it was cancelled.

I like to go as it is local
The staff are nice, I have been going there since it opened, nice atmosphere.
My only issues is the lack of air conditioning.

Recently joined and had troubles already as was using a PIN number a friend gave me. Couldn’t sign up apparently as it was linked. Tonight I’ve tried to come in but my pin didn’t work. Clearly didn’t see the clause of the off-peak membership ( visually impaired and dislexic ) the woman who tried to help was rude and belittling me with snarky comments. I’ve explained this was the very first time I’ve come by myself and travelled about 40 minutes, as a one off exception she could have made a bloody effort.

at acton puregym spinning class, the loudest music ever I can’t even hear my own headphones, I had to leave as my ears started suffering. It’s should be a limit for the noise or have consideration for others.
Worst exprience ever

There was a possum in the lockers, it was a bloody nightmare
I have really benefitted. From learn to lift programme.
I would advocate for stretch classes on Friday evening rather than mid week

The gym wasn’t open for 40 minutes after the stated opening time (opening time 6am, opened 6:40am). It was -4 outside and there was no response when we called the gym emergency number or contacted the PureGym customer support.
If there are going to be delays, gym goers need to be updated of such on relevant social media platforms or by email instead of wondering if the gym would ever open.
Other than this the equipment and gym itself was fine.
