Unhelpful customer service…
Puregym does the marketing thing well but they do not do customer service,
I had asked for help to cancel my membership back in September and they have continuously debited my account through to December, although I explicitly expressed I can no longer justify the spend when I do not even attend the gym.
I am now unemployed with a gym membership that is extremely expensive for what it is.
The gyms seem overused, dirty and something is always not working,

Couldn't get into gym with code, showers didn't have soap and seems quite unhygienic, even weighing yourself costs £1.50.

DO NOT GO TO PURE GYM - PLUS PACKAGE IS A SCAM
I definitely do not recommend PureGym. I had already cancelled my membership due to poor service, but since I was charged until October 20th, I decided to keep using the gym until then.
Today (October 19th), I came with my friend as a Plus member, since Plus members are supposedly allowed to bring a friend up to 4 times a month. However, the “Bring a Friend” feature on my app was deactivated.
I explained the situation politely to the staff member at the entrance, emphasizing several times that:
I am a Plus member,
I haven’t used the Bring a Friend feature for months,
My membership is still active until the 20th,
And we just wanted to train together today.
Despite all this, the staff member kept making irrelevant comments and insisted my friend couldn’t enter. After I explained the situation around five times, he finally realized I was right and allowed us in — but then said he was leaving at 4 PM, so we could only stay for one hour.
We entered at 15:07, and he literally came and made us leave at 4 PM.
Absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional behaviour. We have literally been harassed throughout the workout and were asked to leave after 55 minutes, that's crazy.
I’ve now permanently ended my membership and will never return. I genuinely hope PureGym takes proper action regarding this employee (a male staff with blonde curly hair)

Disappointing to get customer service. Unresponsive by email. There’s no phone number and only a Chatbot trying to solicit confidential information. The clowns need to sort this out.

Nice gym, a bit dirty.
I went to PureGym Oval for over a year. Nice equipment and spacious. It can be quite dirty, they have bad plumbing/sewage issues and the toilets are often disgusting. But it's a serious gym and people there train hard. It gets quite busy (and loud when classes are on) too. But it's cheap compared to other gyms. I only left as I wanted a sauna and they don't have one, otherwise I would have put up with the mess etc.

Lazy with checking the sports water.
When they do not bother to check if all the flavours in the sports water machine is filled up. With juice and not providing water.

In terms of Gym - facilities, I am very satisfied. The facilities are great, well equiped, even training in the pick hours, I felt comfortable. The team on site is very kind. 100% recommendable. I will come back.

Friendly environment
Friendly environment, outgoing staff who are helpful. Yhr gym is clean and we have our air conditioning which is currently being fixed. Gym equipment attachment for some of the machines are needed, which can be frustrating but as a whole the experience at pure gym is good

Temperatures and air conditioning in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers. Thanks, PureGym.
Odd question to ask!
Sorry, you've asked me how I found my "first couple of weeks". I can't remember as I have been a member since September '17. It's fine, a bit managerially haphazard and not really giving a stuff about members but I don't think the PTs who run it are on a great deal. But it's good value if you use it a lot, as I do, particularly taking part in classes. You've also suggested that I review Aberdeen and York -- why?? Never even been to Aberdeen.
