Bad experience!
Experience!? What experience!? I was trying to buy a day pass in the Maidenhead gym and I didn’t get any help from staff member! Firstly I had guest link that didn’t work and when I tried to buy a day pass using the QR code the website was trying to sell me a membership! …and the customer service is completely rubbish! The staff inside the gym said that is nothing to do with him, the reason the link doesn’t work and no effort to help me buy a day pass! This was on 29-11-25. Never again PureGym.

MAIDENHEAD- the gym equipment and the gym itself was dirty and felt dated because of this. You cannot get booked into any of the classes as they are fully booked even out of prime times. Not impressed in the slightest. I had the promo price month membership and went once. Awful.

Pro fighter water needs
I do intense cardio sometimes at the pure gym Maidenhead, I requested the water pressure be increased but I was hesistant I didn’t think he would care and I don’t like to be a nuisance. I’m a pro athlete and gasp for water after an intense run. But he did it great manager and was grateful all the staff are helpful.

The Great PureGym Verification…
The Great PureGym Verification Shambles: A Study in Administrative Incompetence
I required verification of my gym membership via photo identification. A straightforward administrative task, one might assume. How spectacularly mistaken I was.
The Sequential Failures:
Attempt 1: Manager 1 regards me as though I've requested a detailed Brexit exposition. Subsequently emails me to... return to the gym. Surely having a laugh?
Attempts 2-4: Said manager proves more elusive than decent motorway service station tea. Allegedly works 7am-5pm Monday-Friday, except when he fancies 10am-3pm, or decides not to appear until midday.
Customer Support: Ghosted me with greater efficiency than Boris Johnson abandoning campaign pledges.
Attempt 5: Manager 2 declares, "Let's arrange a Teams call for verification!" Finally, progress.
Attempt 6: Same Manager 2, mid-call: "Actually, video calls violate GDPR!" Come again?
The Particularly Absurd Element: GDPR compliance apparently permits transporting my banking details to some dubious back office and reciting account numbers over the telephone to anonymous head office operatives. Because naturally, that's more secure than video verification. Absolute professionals. 🤡
Key Observations:
PureGym managers demonstrate the work ethic of sedated sloths
Their verification procedures render council planning applications efficient by comparison
They interpret GDPR as "Generally Daft Privacy Rubbish"
Final Assessment: Abandon this endeavour. Even NHS appointment systems prove less exasperating.
@PureGym: Rather than issuing standard generic responses, provide direct contact details for a named individual. I challenge you to show genuine concern regarding negative feedback.

Messy environment late in the day
I mostly use the gym after 7pm and on many occasions it has been poor. Despite the gym being busy (which is understandable as pure gym won't introduce a cap), the main concern is the weights area. The benches always seem to be moved all over the place and the other day weights were left lying absolutely everywhere. Why is there no fixing of the benches to the ground and leave one or two for moving around and then signs about returning weights isn't visible enough. I feel this is the case when the gym staff aren't there as people then feel they have the free will to do whatever they want. It's frustrating, try at least fix the benches down and space them out or create those boxes on the ground so if a bench is moved, it can be realigned. Not a lot to ask for is it? But I'm guessing this will be taken as feedback for the future so probably waste of time writing this, however needless it's important to let other members be aware or new joiners.

We ask that members return their weights after use, to ensure that the gym remains and safe and tidy environment for our members. However we know that at busier times, weights are not always returned and our team complete regular re-sets of the gym.
We understand that this is sometimes frustrating for our members, and it is included within our Gym Rules that members should return weights after use. Anybody witnessed leaving equipment out of place will be spoken to by our Gym Team.
If you have any specific concerns relating to this matter, please speak with a member of the gym team where they will be able to assist further.

The gym is spotless about how clean it…
The gym is spotless about how clean it is, including the changing areas. The free sports drink is a good idea and the trainers are numerous, so it's easy to ask something. There are no issues I can see in other gyms, such as broken carpet or a damaged wall.

We’re afraid it's true, our gyms are very popular and so can become busy, especially at peak times. The busyness of the gym does fluctuate throughout the day, or depending on the day of the week and you can check how busy the gym is before attending on your PureGym app.

Easy
Signing up to puregym was very straight forward and simple to do.
On my first work out, alright was very busy was quite easy to read the room and get on with my bits and work out my routine.
Only small thing is in my situation I will never be able to attend while in staff hours. So not sure how I will be able to get the help if I need it.

A great gym
Pure gym in Maidenhead is a fun and welcoming place to work out. The instructors and managers are so friendly and acknowledge you when you arrive and give encouragement and advice when needed. The instructors deliver amazing classes which are challenging but great fun and are full of people who want to work hard but have some laughs as well.
