Excellent instructor, good range of exercises and stretches.
I really enjoy attending the gym. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The equipment is great. The only thing I would say is the lack of cleanliness. Toilets aren't always great although the accessibility one usually is fine. However, I don't feel it is hygienic for one cloth to be used by several people to clean the equipment before and after use. It spreads germs and bacteria.
Blue roll used to be available and now it isn't and now I see barely anyone cleaning the equipment after they use it which isn't helpful.
Well kept, well equipped Gym. Friendly Staff provide support, encouragement and lead great Spin classes.

The gym was clean and plenty of equipment free to use, but it wasn't for me. The PIN entry system isn't difficult to use, but the whole set-up seemed a bit impersonal and the choice of classes wasn't great at my local gym.

Best gym in North Lanarkshire and doesn’t seem like a standard budget gym!!
Been a member since moving to Motherwell and I’m so pleased I joined. Equipment availability is great - especially since the refurbished and the place is spotless!
Staff in this branch are exceptional. The management team do go above and beyond to drive high standards. The PTs are fantastic- I even decided to use one regularly and the changes in my body are just so different going from a skinny 12 stone to a more muscle toned 15 stone 52 year old!
Budget gyms usually get a bad rep but this isn’t your standard Pure Gym. This is as good as any premier gym and it’s the staff that make it exceptional!

Easy to join, and good experience for my first ever time at a gym in my whole 49 years. Fairly quiet today (Wednesday 5th Nov) between 1030-1200, and plenty of machines available.
All in all, glad I joined, and happy that Motherwell is my local gym.

I usually enjoy training at PureGym — it’s spacious, well-equipped, and has a great atmosphere. However, I’ve repeatedly been disturbed by one of the personal trainers, Martin McKenna, who constantly throws weights on the floor, creating loud and unnecessary noise. This is especially frustrating because there are clear signs on the walls that say “Don’t drop the weights — it can damage the kit” and “Keep noise to a minimum — grounds are for tennis.”
As a personal trainer, he should be setting an example by following these rules and showing respect for the people around him who are training quietly and mindfully. His behavior is disruptive and inconsiderate, and I personally wouldn’t choose to train with him. Apart from this issue, the gym itself is excellent — spacious, clean, and equipped with everything you need for a good workout.

Puregym is well priced and is reasonably well kitted out.
Issues lie with maintenance of the equipment.
On most / all benches, the seat adjustment and back adjustment pins are slack.
8/10 times I have to screw mine back in prior to use.
The dumbells are. Not a patch on the old ones.
The knurled handle is now non existent, making them no longer feel secure in hand.
This may be OK with smaller dumbells, but when moving up into the 40+ kg range, it's concerning at best.
The other issue is the obligatory member checking / posting on social media whilst sitting on the equipment.
C'mon guys...
You are there to workout... Nobody on insta really cares... 💪👍💪
Great experience. Gym was clean, well-equipped, and friendly. Like most young people I'm comfortable with unmanned services where I use my mobile to get access...but some older folks will certainly not! Hence the 3 stars only: hire some people, re-humanise enrolment, and create jobs! :)

I actually really like the gym and even more so with the new refurb.
My only thing that I am really unhappy with is the lack of body pump classes.
When I say this I mean only one of the instructors at the Motherwell branch (Naomi) teaches the pump classes as it should be done properly and she hasn’t been given a new routine since February this year.
We’ve been doing the SAME ROUTINE FOR ALMOST A YEAR.
Even though other instructors in the gym take the body pump classes, they aren’t done to the standard of Naomi.
If the Motherwell branch doesn’t start to offer new routine that are learned by all the instructors, I most likely will leave.

Classes are good, but wish trainers would push you more and correct technique for best workout. Also, some don't wear a mic and can hardly understand them during a class with very loud music. It should be about giving the attendees the best workout & not just giving the bare minimum.
Also, the fitness studio floor is so dirty & the mats & step have never been cleaned, and this is concerning, as we are on the floor, mats and step (when working out). I know it's not possible after every class, but more of an effort should be made for all kit to be cleaned regularly, considering people sweat on it and due to risk of spreading germs (covid).
