Really easy, great app - welcoming staff
Really simple once I found my welcome email in spam - great App. loads of info and easy to use. Prior to finding welcome email visited the gym and was made very welcome, given a full tour and told how everything works. Just made my first visit and looking forward to my classes today.

Was not able to join due to error on your website regarding payment. Had to go into gym today. Emailing support takes to long to respond and only contact number is a premium number.

Easy to access from a day pass pov…
Easy to access from a day pass pov (Nuffield member not realising the gym wasn’t open at 6am, so rather than driving back nabbed a day pass for puregym). There’s a good variety of equipment, some of it isn’t the best quality but it’s more than good enough for most people! Could do with a decent water station (that isn’t the upsell sports water) and I’m personally not a fan of lockers that require you to bring your own padlock - but otherwise great!

Staff is excellent, Gym is too hot
Staff is excellent, very friendly.
Love the PT’s and they are great during classes as well.
The gym is ok, problem is the teenagers and some other people who sit at the equipment and spend hours there looking at their phones and clogging the machine… like, Come on!
It’s also impossible to workout between 17:00pm and 20:00pm as it’s crowded as hell!
But the most annoying thing for me is how hot it is inside the gym! Is there no air conditioning at all?
We can’t do the classes because the studio is worse than a sauna, and the gym area is no different, specially during the summer and peak times.
Just way too hot there

We have recently made slight changes to this area, looking at improving energy efficiency. This is both to control our energy usage, but also with a look to reduce our carbon footprint. By law, we have a requirement to provide a certain amount of fresh air based on occupancy levels, and our ventilation system increases and decreases at different times throughout the day and night, making sure we meet these requirements and provide good air movement around the gyms. These levels are based on size of the gym, and occupancy levels, and are regularly monitored.
All member feedback is reviewed, and brought to the attention of our Facilities team, who regularly review any changes we make to our gym facilities and all feedback is taken into account when making any future changes.

Very disappointed
Very disappointed. On my first day in the gym was no staff to help me out about how to use the machines or even the lockers.

We are sorry to hear this. Some gyms do have unstaffed hours or may be in PT sessions and classes and not available to help immediately. Induction's can be booked through the class app where a PT will run members through the equipment and the gym in general. We would advise looking to see if one is available.

Based on my recent visit to PureGym in Newbury, I would definitely recommend it to a friend or colleague. The modern equipment is top-notch, the staff are friendly and always willing to help, and the app provides great training guidelines. Plus, it’s always open, which is super convenient, and offers great value for money. It ticks all the right boxes!

We’re afraid it's true, our gyms simply are very popular and so can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate throughout the day and from day to day.
