Lovely atmosphere
Lovely atmosphere. I feel very comfortable attending the gym at Longbenton, which is important to me as a 57 year old woman. I’m not very fit or in shape which makes me self conscious but the staff are great if I ask them for help and everyone just gets on with what they’re doing and pays me no mind 👍🏻

Dangerous equipment no aircon at night !!
Where do I begin with this place ??
It’s going to be a long one !
Dangerous equipment (benches failing in incline position ) not just one but 4 of them
Air con turned completely off during heat wave at night time hrs ( was like working out in a sauna )
Equipment always broken for weeks or even months !!
The place is dirty !! The toilets and locker rooms stink !! , it’s a Lucky dip wether or not there is any soap to wash your hands after workout and very poor hygiene in the gym itself ,used paper towels stuffed in the bottle holders on gym equipment !!
At night they turn off the air-con in the middle of a heatwave and turn the music down so low you can hardly here it !!
What kind of gym would do this ??
People who workout at night pay the same money as those who workout during the day !! So why do this ?? It makes no sense !!
I was a member here for for over 10 years and it was a brilliant gym it had 24hr cleaning staff so the place was kept to a very high standard
the air-con was aways on at night and the music was great you could here it lol , but now there is no one there to keep a eye on things at night and it’s a vile place to workout your supposed to work up to a sweat not be sweating your head off before you start your workout !!
Summary : It’s dirty and like a sauna in Summer nights no air con at night , no soap to wash your hands poor hygiene in gym
And dangerous equipment !!
So I’m done with commercial gyms now and have been lucky enough to build my own home gym because it seems commercial gyms these days only care about making money and not about the customer !!

We can confirm that there are no benches out of order and the team have not found any issues with them recently. Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site as soon as you can. We can confirm that the the AC units in gym are in working order running at the correct settings which are standard across the PureGym estate. We have recently made slight changes to this area, looking at improving energy efficiency. This is both to control our energy usage, but also with a look to reduce our carbon footprint. By law, we have a requirement to provide a certain amount of fresh air based on occupancy levels, and our ventilation system increases and decreases at different times throughout the day and night, making sure we meet these requirements and provide good air movement around the gyms. These levels are based on size of the gym, and occupancy levels, and are regularly monitored. With regards to the temperature in the gym, we use air conditioning units which heat the air when it drops below 17.5C, and cools the air when it goes higher than 21.5C, keeping the temperature within the gym at an acceptable level. This is regularly checked to ensure the units are operating as they should be across all of our gyms. In regard to the cleaning standards within the gym, we would like to assure you that we are working alongside the contacted cleaning team and facilities management, to ensure concerns are addressed in club. We fully understand the importance of cleanliness and our teams will continue to undertake regular checks throughout the day and feedback on cleaning standards to the contracted cleaning company. I joined at the same time as my partner we both received email email confirmation of payment but only one pin access code. If you don’t have Facebook it’s very difficult to contact pure phone no unavailable I have tried Instagram and email with no luck and the 12 hour response time has been and gone email is more of an automated bounce back not the best company unfortunately to try and contact

Goes downhill every visit. Machines broken. 6 cross trainers and all of them rattle like mad for last 2 years because no one can be bothered to see to them.

I love Strength 45
I love Strength 45. I previously hadn’t lifted weights because I didn’t enjoy it but I really enjoy this class.
For 5 stars, I’d like to see more weekend classes.

Heater off
The heater should be off as everyone is working out. I am already sweating before starting my routine. Would be better is the heater is either off or if you put the fan on and let the air circulate.

Temperatures and air conditioning in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers. They mess up my billing every single…
They mess up my billing every single month , they dontbrakevtge payments on the right day , then charge me £20 extra, then the live chat doesn't deal with that, so I email , then the email people are always sarcastic smarmy little arrogant people , then I gave to pay double , then I get the next month at a discount , which sometimes they don't take , then it cancels and I have to rejoin as a new customer and the cycle starts all over again , it's just really terrible service , I'd rather pay the extra £10 to my local gym with worse machines and less choice

As stated in our terms and conditions, accepted upon membership commencement, we are able to charge up to £20 in admin fees, for a failed payment.
We are notified by the bank when a payment has failed; we then notify the member via email.
In the email, we state that for a very limited time, we do give the option to make a payment using a debit or credit card for:
• Instalment Amount
• Administration Fee £ 5.00
This can be done via the members area of our website https://www.puregym.com/members/ with your email address and PIN number.
By using this facility, members will not incur the Resubmission fee of £15.00.
If this resubmission collection fails (with the £20 admin fees) your membership would then cancel down.
Additionally, we do have a dedicated Member Services Team on hand to respond to members if they need any help. Thanks, PureGym
