It is what it is, a relatively cheap gym. With no equivalent local competition, Puregym don't need to do much to attract members.
Ive held off on commenting until i got a good feel for the new gym. However the old gym was better, more space, more cardio machines, more spin class bikes, overall better weight selection etc.
Most of the equipment is not new, it's refurbished. Some of which to a very poor standard. Please update the cardio machines, you get better equipment in hotel 'gyms'!
Ultimately its a bigger but smaller gym. More equipment crammed in so you have less space to workout. The layout makes it awkward and difficult to move kit around, especially to open areas.
Changing rooms: what a daft sink, smallest of gaps between the tap and the basin. Clearly a style over function. And still 3 showers for a 'bigger' gym which are not clean due to too many people using them.
All in all I will continue here as its cost effective and opening hours are unmatched. But its clear they cut costs by hiring GCSE students to analyse and design the new site, wasting its potential. If a competitor comes along, purgym will need to up their game.

Good for the price , room for improvement
As much as I would like to give 5 stars , I can’t as there’s no pool or hot tub or steam room , I think the big space on the right as you walk in could have more machines as there’s only 1 calf machine , needs a couple more really , heavier dumbbells and kick under 18’s out after 1830 !!

Overall a good experience
Overall a good experience.
It's still too cramped compared with the old Redditch gym, but numbers seem to be reducing a little so equipment is a little more readily available.
The changing rooms are far too small though (take a look at Sunderland Pure Gym for comparison).
One jewel in the crown is Mark Fisher. This guys classes are "insane" (in the nicest possible way!). Book his classes early to avoid disappointment.

Not the best
Not the best: first impression was how dark it is inside, there are no windows and barely any mirrors. 3 workouts here to date: it is generally clean but compared with other Puregym's the equipment lacks diversity and the layout of machines seems odd. I've often seen people queuing for machines so be prepared to "freestyle" your workout due to lack of equipment. I've added this gym on as my secondary gym but personally it's not worth the extra £4 p/m. May suit some, but for me it's dark and uninspiring.

From the couple of times i have been…
Redditch…From the couple of times i have been, the gym is as i expect from a commercial gym, the cardio section though is the most uninspiring section i have seen in any gym. 90% of machines facing a wall, i don’t expect much but even mirrors so i can see my bloated red face would be better, don’t understand how that was deemed the best lay out??

New gym
Great vibe and plenty of kits. Generally clean and tidy. Only problem is lack of shower cubicles and no hand sanitizers.

Some essential machines are missing such as the seated pec dec and lateral raise machines.
3 shower cubicles in the men's wasn't enough in the past and is still the case now. Also, not enough room to get changed in the changing rooms when the gym is busy.
The sports drink machine needs constant attention as most of the popular flavours run out quickly.
