Too much unused cardio equipment and not enough benches etc

During the cold weather, the car park has been an ice rink.
Small and petty but even the clocks in the changing room dont work.
It feels like people don't care.

The gym is clean however the machines are really old a lot of the spin bikes don’t work and none of the machines have been update since it opened. Compared to other gyms the classes are not great a the staff turn over is really high.

Great atmosphere. None judgemental and friendly staff. Other users friendly and helpful. All round great place to exercise and train.
Have been a member throughout 2022 but this gym is in desperate need of updating. You tell us to leave comments in the box but the equipment is still not being updated!! I will have to go to Widnes if this doesn’t change soon as it doesn’t have a lot of the equipment I need, which is ridiculous when I live 2 min round the corner from the Runcorn one. I used to go to Warrington central when I lived there which was much better.

I’ve been a member of Pure Gym Runcorn for a while now with no real issues, that is until today (it’s very local to me and open at stupid o’clock in the morning when I need to train before work). You really need to work on communication and priorities Runcorn. I, like every member, received an e mail yesterday informing me that there was no CCTV so the gym was closed but would be reopening at 8am on Sunday morning. It would have been great if you had mentioned that it would be closing again at midday on the Sunday when the staff member present was leaving and there was still no CCTV! I was only informed of this at 11:40am on the Sunday, during the middle of a cross training session, when the said member of staff walked round the gym floor to inform everyone of the closure. If I had been informed of this fact earlier via e mail I would have either gone in earlier or gone straight over to Widnes (where I ended up going anyway to find that there was actually a member of staff still present there much later than at Runcorn) instead of having to abruptly abandon my workout. Have you not got staff that can cover when these issues arise? There were quite a lot of people in the gym at the time, some of whom had only just arrived, when they were told that they had to leave again. Apparently none of use were psychic so had no idea that we were waisting our time! Better communication and planning could have avoided this situation for everyone.

The PureGym membership is excellent and I am glad that I joined PureGym as a staff are really good and helpful.

Runcorn is definitely neglected in terms of investment and I’m convinced it’s used as a bit of a training location for PureGym staff. Great staff and customers but the equipment is in dire need of updating - for example finding a bike in a cycle/spin class that actually works can, especially if it’s quite full, be almost impossible. Either the electronic display is broken, the straps are broken or the resistance mechanism doesn’t work. It has been raised with the local gym manager in the past but you get the impression their hands are tied - shame really

I have been a member from pretty much day one, I took a year out from the gym, coming back after a year I would of thought the gym would of been updated by now it’s dated with the same machines and layout, pure gym are quick to open new gyms and update the other gyms round the north west, so my question is when is Runcorn finally gonna get up dated, there were rumours it was gonna happen before covid any update on this ?

Excellent PT session’s with Miky! She’s down to earth and doesn’t let you give up on your goals. Highly recommend.

Great gym but could do with a leg press machine.
Broken, old equipment. No new equipment since the gym opened in 2014 except for a poxy trap bar.
2 of the 4 Olympic bars are not weighted correctly. A very very poor gym in comparison to Pure Gym Widnes.
No assault bike, no ski erg, no plate loaded leg press. You can tell it’s a 2014 gym and not a 2022 gym.

Great gym, good atmosphere, have to wait for equipment sometimes during busy times and would also benefit from a couple of more updates pieces of equipment ie new leg press. Very clean and staff are friendly.
No money invested in gym, exact same as it was 6 years ago, not even a new plate

Lacks updated equipment, also needs more mirrors on the main wall. very cramped in the corner at peak time due to there only being 3 mirrors. Besides that does the job.
